Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2313: Chapter 2306: Are You Childish or Not?

Ji Chuan started pedaling forcefully, and the wheels began to spin rapidly.

As the sun set in the west, a gentle evening breeze blew, and Yan Huan rarely felt a sense of tranquility and joy.

Her small legs dangled, gently swaying with the rotation of the wheels, and she began to hum a little tune.

Suddenly, Ji Chuan braked urgently.

Yan Huan’s body lurched forward, and she, startled, quickly reached out to hold Ji Chuan’s waist, ”What happened? Is there something up ahead?”

”It’s nothing.” Ji Chuan lifted the corners of his mouth, ”I just wanted to test if the brakes are working well?”

”Oh!” Yan Huan sat upright and gently retracted her hands.

”You can keep holding me. Just in case I brake suddenly again!” Ji Chuan’s voice couldn’t hide his amused tone.

After realizing, Yan Huan couldn’t help but laugh too: ”Ji Chuan, are you childish or what?”

”Not too bad.” Ji Chuan chuckled lightly.

”Ride properly. If this happens again, I will never ride on your bike again.” Yan Huan said dissatisfied.

”Okay.”

After more than half an hour of cycling, the two returned.

The two came through the door, and the family was waiting for their arrival.

”You must be Ji Chuan?” Yan Luquan gestured for him to sit, ”I’ve heard you’re the best in General Surgery! Your skills are impeccable!”

”Thank you for the compliment, Uncle!” Ji Chuan replied humbly, ”I’ve been performing surgeries for many years, so I’m just relatively more experienced!”

”You’re too modest. Your aunt thinks highly of you, so come over often if you have time! You can keep me company and play some chess! Do you like chess?” Yan Luquan never misses a chance to talk about playing chess.

”I like it! I hope Uncle can teach me more when I have time!”

”Great, that’s wonderful. We can set up the chessboard right now and play a game.” Yan Luquan was eager.

”Alright, what chess? It’s time to eat!” Feng Yuzhi gave her husband a glance, signaling it was inappropriate timing.

However, Yan Luquan couldn’t be completely blamed.

They knew Ji Chuan well. Being recommended by their son, who spoke so highly of him, he must be reliable.

A sumptuous dinner was naturally indispensable.

At the dining table, Yan Huan and Ji Chuan were the main focus today.

”Ji Chuan, try your aunt’s cooking. Knowing you were coming today, I put all my skills into it!” Feng Yuzhi said with a smile as she served Ji Chuan food.

Ji Chuan graciously ate heartily, praising continuously as he ate.

”Huanhuan is spoiled by us, her temper and character are not great, but she has a kind heart. In the future when you’re together, please tolerate her! Of course, I’ll also educate her well! So she won’t be so headstrong anymore!” Feng Yuzhi was eager for Ji Chuan and Yan Huan’s relationship to work out, yet worried that her daughter’s temperament might not be liked, so she kept speaking for her.

”Of course, Ji Chuan knows what kind of person Yan Huan is. Mom, don’t worry, everything depends on fate.” Yan Ye hoped they would both show their truest selves to each other.

He didn’t want them to pretend in front of each other, only to be disappointed once the facade peeled away after marriage.

”I agree with my son. Ji Chuan, don’t feel pressured, your aunt likes to exaggerate! Talk however you wish!”
