Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2315: Chapter 2308: People Are All Self-Interested

Yan Huan agreed.

The two walked along the path, and Ji Chuan started the conversation: ”You’ve got to go for a month this time, I’m worried about your health! I’ve heard about your symptoms, they’re really strange!”

”Yeah. I don’t know why it’s like this either. I’ve had this issue since I was young! Can’t find the cause, and there’s no way to cure it! Fortunately, I’m fine in Nancheng. I just can’t go out.” Yan Huan kicked a small stone on the ground and slowly said, ”But, I’ve got medicine, just in case, so don’t worry.”

Actually, Ji Chuan wanted to tell her that Cheng Yue was also going this time.

But several times the words were on the tip of his tongue, yet he didn’t say them.

Everyone has their own selfish motives.

Ji Chuan was no exception.

He hoped that Yan Huan and Cheng Yue wouldn’t know about each other’s existence, so that they wouldn’t meet during this month.

With this thought, Ji Chuan walked all the way to the gate, and Yan Huan waved goodbye to him.

”Come back in a month, I hope I’ll still have the chance to invite you to a movie.” Ji Chuan said, standing under the streetlight at the gate, looking at Yan Huan.

”I will.” Yan Huan replied with a smile, ”You should go! I have to go back and pack my luggage, I’m leaving early tomorrow morning.”

”Take care then!”

”Okay.”

Ji Chuan turned around and walked further away in the breeze of the spring night.

Early the next morning, Yan Huan packed up and went to the entrance of the military base to gather.

The big truck was ready.

”We’ll start boarding at eight!” The logistics company commander briefed the team, ”I emphasize once again. We’ll be camping at Hanshan Village! Pay attention to your behavior when we arrive! We are soldiers, and soldiers should behave like soldiers! We’re going to provide free medical aid this time, make sure to do your best, show the spirit of a soldier!”

”Yes!” the warriors shouted in unison.

”Okay. Time’s up, board the truck!” At the command of the company commander, all the soldiers began to get on the vehicle.

”Comrade Yan, get on the truck!” The company commander came over to help Yan Huan with her luggage.

”No need. Captain Zhang, has Qiu Xinyi arrived?” Yan Huan handed her luggage to the soldier on the truck, asking as she boarded.

”Not yet.”

Just as he said that, Qiu Xinyi arrived, carrying several bags: ”Captain Zhang, quickly get a few soldiers to help! I’m exhausted!”

Captain Zhang immediately called some soldiers to help Qiu Xinyi load her things onto the truck and conveniently pulled her up as well.

She came up to Yan Huan and said, ”Move over, make some space!”

Yan Huan glanced at a spot beside her that could fit a person and said, ”Isn’t this enough?”

”I’ve got bags! Don’t they take up space?” Qiu Xinyi lightly patted the bags and said, ”The things in here can’t be squished, so move over!”

”Are you going on a mission or a trip? You’ve got heaps of bags!” Yan Huan commented, but still moved aside to make room for her.

”None of your business, is it?” Qiu Xinyi gave Yan Huan a sidelong glance and sat down unceremoniously.

All the way, the two of them didn’t exchange another word.

After a bumpy ride all morning, they arrived at Hanshan Village by noon. The villagers had heard long ago that a medical team would be coming, and had been waiting at the village entrance since morning, led by the village head.

It was near midday when they finally saw the big Liberation truck from the military driving over.
