Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2325: Chapter 2318: Are You Interested in Him?

”This mountain path is making my feet hurt!” Qiu Xinyi said unhappily, ”My feet are meant for dancing, not for walking on mountain trails.”

”They say dancers are the ones best at enduring hardships.” Yan Huan slowly walked to her bed and lay down. Their work was relatively free; no one demanded they do any specific work at any given time.

The important thing was to deliver an outstanding performance in the end.

Qiu Xinyi rolled her eyes at Yan Huan: ”Are you saying I’m pampered? Aren’t you the same? You came back before noon, we’re just as bad as each other!”

”I got bitten by a snake!”

As soon as Yan Huan finished speaking, Qiu Xinyi jumped up in fright: ”No way? There are... snakes here!”

”Yes, be careful in the future,” Yan Huan reminded her.

”Mm, mm, luckily you told me. Otherwise, I’m terribly afraid of snakes.”

”Same here! Try not to run into the bushes in the future!” Since they were talking about it, Yan Huan reminded Qiu Xinyi a bit more, so even though they often found each other annoying, they were comrades after all.

Having suffered herself, Yan Huan didn’t want Qiu Xinyi to experience the same misfortune.

Since the locals said there were many snakes here, she warned her to be careful.

”Thanks!” Qiu Xinyi saw that Yan Huan hadn’t kept it to herself and didn’t gloat over seeing her bitten by a snake, so she felt a little less annoyed by her.

Since they were chatting, she decided to talk a bit more with Yan Huan.

”Hey, yesterday when I said you were two-timing, don’t take it to heart! I’ve got a sharp tongue! Sometimes I might offend people!”

”Let bygones be bygones. Just don’t be so sharp in the future.”

”Okay.” Qiu Xinyi nodded repeatedly. She thought for a moment, then simply hugged a box of cookies and sat down on Yan Huan’s bed. ”Come, you have some too! My mom had them brought over from Hong Kong! You can’t get them here inland.”

”No thanks. Thanks anyway!” Yan Huan was puzzled by Qiu Xinyi’s sudden friendliness, wondering if she had something to say. ”Qiu Xinyi, do you have something you want to say?”

”You guessed right.” Qiu Xinyi tossed the cookies back into the box, clapped her hands, and asked with a cheeky grin, ”Wasn’t there a day when two men were waiting for you at the gate? One was the surgeon Cheng Yue coming to the countryside, but who was the other?”

”Why? Are you interested?” Yan Huan glanced at her.

”No, I’m just asking. Can’t I ask casually? He looked familiar to me, and I’m wondering if he might be one of my dad’s former subordinates? I didn’t get a chance to ask last time, so I’m asking you.” Qiu Xinyi lied without blushing.

”As far as I know, Ji Chuan isn’t one,” Yan Huan said.

”Ji Chuan? His name is Ji Chuan?” Qiu Xinyi nodded continually, impressed.

”Now that you know his name, do you know whether he is or not?”

”He’s indeed not. I mistook him for someone else. But tell me about him. I’m still curious to know more.”

”He’s a doctor at the PLA Affiliated Hospital...” Yan Huan said two sentences and then stopped, her bright eyes staring at Qiu Xinyi, ”If you’re not interested in him, why are you asking so much?”

”Just asking! Don’t be so stingy, tell me!” Qiu Xinyi shook Yan Huan’s arm imploringly.

”That’s all I know! I was just introduced to him myself.” Yan Huan found an excuse to refuse to answer her questions.

She felt that Qiu Xinyi seemed to have some interest in Ji Chuan.

It’s not that she’s stingy, nor is she deliberately trying to two-time, but Qiu Xinyi simply isn’t reliable!
