Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2341: Chapter 2334: Some Concerns

”Why did you all come back so early today?” Gu Shuangshuang wondered, ”Did Chengyang get into a fight again? Look at that black eye.”

Tian Niu poured himself a glass and said, ”Don’t mention it. This time it wasn’t just one-on-one, it was a brawl!”

”...”

Tian Niu explained the situation to Gu Shuangshuang, who quickly went to check on Chenguang after hearing he was injured.

She saw Little Nannan holding Chenguang’s hand, talking to him endlessly, while Chenguang looked completely drained.

”Brother, what’s wrong?”

”Nannan, Brother feels unwell, you and Brother Yangyang go play, and let Mommy take Brother Guangguang to rest, okay?”

”Okay.”

”Good.” Gu Shuangshuang squatted down to give Nannan a kiss, cautioning Chengyang not to fight, then picked up Chenguang, ”Guangguang, are you feeling really unwell? How about Auntie takes you to sleep, okay?”

”Mm.” Little Chenguang nodded weakly.

After Chenguang fell asleep, Gu Shuangshuang pulled Tian Niu aside and said, ”When is Qin Jian coming back? I’m always worried something will go wrong with Guangguang looking so listless!”

”No way? I took him to the hospital, they said it’s a mild concussion, shouldn’t be anything serious.” Tian Niu handed over the examination results to Gu Shuangshuang, ”You, after all, graduated from the Military Medical University, do you understand this?”

”I don’t need to look at it. I’m just worried, Guangguang’s condition is a bit complicated... I just have this feeling...” she couldn’t quite articulate it.

Her words made Tian Niu worried too, ”How about this, let’s observe for a bit, I’ll stay with Guangguang tonight. If he’s fine then it’s okay, if not, we can call Commander Qin tomorrow?”

”Okay. That’s all we can do.”

”It’ll be hard on you tonight.”

”Not hard at all. Tomorrow’s the weekend, you can go to town and buy something nice for the three kids! If not, buy a chicken to stew for Guangguang, something to nourish him...”

”Alright!”

..............................

The calendar on the table flipped to Friday.

In the blink of an eye, Yan Huan had been in the countryside for half a month.

Tomorrow’s Saturday, his day off, but on Sunday he has a night shift. He contemplated for a long time whether to go to Hanshan Village to visit Yan Huan.

He wanted to go but was worried his visit would upset Yan Huan.

After pacing around the room for a while, he decided. He would go to Hanshan Village to see Yan Huan.

Once Ji Chuan decided, he set his plans in motion. After work, he went to the street, bought some fruits and cakes, stuffed them into his travel bag, and headed to the train station overnight.

From Nancheng to Hanshan Village requires taking a train and then transferring to a bus, which would take up the whole day if he departed on a Saturday.

So, he decided to travel overnight.

There’s only one train from Nancheng to Liulin County, and it’s a through train, which reaches Nancheng station only at around two in the morning.

Ji Chuan decided to wait for this train.

The station was bustling with people, so Ji Chuan spent some money to find a lodge near the station, rested until after one o’clock, and managed to catch the train just in time after checking out.

At dawn, he finally reached Liulin County.

The early morning bus to Hanshan Village leaves at six. Ji Chuan was lucky to catch it. As he got on, Ji Chuan could hardly believe it himself; here he was in his thirties, yet making such an earnest gesture like a young man.
