Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2323: Chapter 2316: Mind the Influence, Will You?

”What?” Cheng Yue was at a loss whether to laugh or cry, ”You actually just understood the literal meaning?”

Yan Huan’s mind was a bit unsettled now; she didn’t want to discuss this topic with Cheng Yue at the moment, so she quickly changed the subject: ”We need to speed up. You still have many patients to see after you return. I also need to continue with my interviews!”

Cheng Yue saw that Yan Huan didn’t want to continue with this topic and didn’t insist: ”Okay. Let’s move faster then.”

Yan Huan quickened her pace, and as she walked fast, her legs hurt, causing her to grit her teeth and furrow her brow.

Cheng Yue noticed her discomfort, suddenly let go of her, moved in front of her, and squatted down: ”Come on! Get on! I’ll carry you!”

”No, there’s no need.” Yan Huan decisively refused.

”Why not? Huanhuan, I don’t mean anything else.”

”It’s just a little injury, and I let you carry me! I’m afraid people will call me spoiled!”

”Since when did you, Yan Huan, care about what others think?”

”Now, just now, is that not allowed?”

”Alright. However, you’ll delay my work if you’re so slow.”

”You can go ahead.”

”No way. Leaving a comrade behind is never my style!” Cheng Yue placed the medical kit on the ground without further ado and went to carry Yan Huan.

”Hey, what are you doing? I don’t want you to carry me.” Yan Huan leaned back repeatedly.

If someone saw this, who knows what they’d say.

”Alright then!” Cheng Yue stood up, rolled up his sleeves, ”If you won’t let me carry you, then I’ll just have to carry you back!”

”What are you doing now? I have my own legs; I don’t need you to carry or bear me! You walk your own path, why do you have to wait for me!” Yan Huan said frustratedly.

”I just want to carry you, want to hold you, can’t I?” Cheng Yue said helplessly.

He didn’t have any ulterior motives, just seeing Yan Huan’s struggle with her legs made him feel sorry for her and he wanted her to save some energy.

If it were any other man, facing the woman he loves, wouldn’t they react the same way?

But she was avoiding it like the plague.

”No. I don’t want to!” Yan Huan was very firm in her refusal.

Cheng Yue knew he couldn’t persuade Yan Huan, so he simply slung the medical kit over his shoulder and bent down to lift Yan Huan horizontally.

”Hey, put me down!” Yan Huan didn’t expect him to be so bold and scolded him immediately.

Cheng Yue didn’t heed her at all; instead, he held her even tighter.

”Cheng Yue! Cheng Yue! Be mindful of the impact, will you?”

Cheng Yue ignored her.

”How can you be so unreasonable?”

”...”

”Cheng Yue, don’t be such a jerk!” Yan Huan was really anxious now.

”You’re right. My nickname is ’little jerk!’ And a jerk doesn’t let go!” Cheng Yue replied in a confident and righteous manner.

”You...” Yan Huan got angry, clenched her fists tightly, and beat his chest, ”Put me down!”

”Either I carry you, or I hold you! Choose one! If you don’t pick, then don’t think about getting down!” Cheng Yue said domineeringly.

”You’re really going to drive me mad. Why do you have to do this?” Yan Huan was speechless.

”Because I care about you! I like you; I want to be close to you!” Cheng Yue decided not to hold back his feelings anymore, passionately and boldly confessing to Yan Huan once again.

Her heart had been hurt before, so it’s understandable that now she was suspicious and hesitant about his attitude.

But he had made up his mind; this time, no matter what, he wouldn’t let Yan Huan go.

She could be passive; he would be proactive!
