Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2317: Chapter 2310: Two-Timing

”Yes.” Cheng Yue took out a small paper box from his bag and handed it to Yan Huan, ”This is something Director Ji asked me to bring to you.”

Yan Huan took it and opened it to find two boxes of medicine inside: ”This is...”

”Medicine. Director Ji asked me to bring it to you,” Cheng Yue said.

”Why give this to me?” Yan Huan was a bit puzzled. She picked up the medicine box and looked at the content on it; it was for treating and preventing asthma.

Although Cheng Yue didn’t really want to tell Yan Huan about this, his conscience told him he should: ”Last night, Director Ji came to my dormitory and gave me two bottles of medicine. He told me you would also be going with the medical team for interviews and reports, and we might end up in the same place. If I meet you, I should give this medicine to you immediately. If not, then never mind.”

Yan Huan held the medicine bottle in her hand, feeling a warmth inside her heart: ”He really is thoughtful.”

”Yes.” Although Cheng Yue and Ji Chuan were rivals in love, he did not deny that Ji Chuan was indeed a good person, ”He also mentioned your condition and asked me to take care of you these days.”

”Thank you, Cheng Yue.” Yan Huan put away the medicine and said to Cheng Yue.

”Thank me? You should thank Ji Chuan, right?”

”I should thank Ji Chuan. But I should also thank you for being honest. Actually, you could have chosen not to tell me all this,” Yan Huan said.

”But you would know sooner or later.” Cheng Yue smiled at Yan Huan and said gently, ”In my heart, Ji Chuan and I are rivals. But I hope we can compete fairly and justly!”

Yan Huan slowly smiled: ”What’s this competition talk? I haven’t said I’ll end up with either of you.”

”I don’t care. I’m here for you this time!” Cheng Yue said sincerely.

At this moment, Qiu Xinyi came out of the tent with her food tray, seeing Yan Huan talking and laughing with the handsome male doctor from yesterday. She joined the conversation and said, ”Officer Yan, is this your guy? Wow, you’re really going for younger men aren’t you!”

Her words made everyone turn their heads to look at Yan Huan and Cheng Yue.

”Officer Qiu, don’t talk nonsense!” Yan Huan’s face turned slightly red.

”Nonsense? Didn’t he wait for you at the barracks gate with a rose in his hand yesterday?” Qiu Xinyi teased Yan Huan, ”I really couldn’t tell! You’re actually juggling two guys at once! That’s some charm you got!”

”Qiu Xinyi! Watch what you say, won’t you? Don’t just blurt out anything!” Yan Huan was a little angry.

Juggling two guys at once is such a despicable thing! Saying it out loud made everyone start questioning Yan Huan’s character!

”Isn’t it? If not, why are you blushing?”

Seeing Yan Huan being deliberately misunderstood and Qiu Xinyi’s words being rather malicious, Cheng Yue opened his mouth to clarify for Yan Huan: ”Ma’am, can you please get your facts straight before speaking! The other male comrade and I are both pursuing Yan Huan at the same time! However, she hasn’t agreed to either of us. She’s not juggling two guys, it’s us who are willingly wanting to compete fairly for her!”

”Cheng Yue, there’s no need to explain to her. You go ahead, I’ll get lunch!” Yan Huan didn’t want any further conflict with Qiu Xinyi, so she grabbed her tray and walked away first.
