The Void Creatures gazed ahead in a daze. Even with only the simplest intelligence, each and every one of them understood that the figure at the very heart was standing at the highest throne of supremacy.

And what was required of them was obedience, plain and simple obedience.

Submitting to the stronger Void Creature was the simplest, yet the most dreadful law of the Void.

And now…

*Rooooaar, rooooaar, rooooaar…*

Suddenly, cries erupted. From the depths of endless darkness came the deafening chorus of innumerable Void Creatures howling skyward, as though heralding the descent of their one true god.

But Yu Zi Yu knew not, among the legions of Void Creatures, a few with sharper wits could not hide the tremor in their eyes.

“I wish to take on that form…”

“I wish to stand by such a king’s side…”

“So this… is the Humanoid Form of the cosmos?”

…

Their eyes flickered uncontrollably, staring at the Void Emperor kneeling before Yu Zi Yu. A look of yearning was clearly visible in these creatures’ faces, for they were the low-level Void Creatures, and did not even possess the right to kneel.

Only those who stepped into the Tier-6, who had forged themselves into a Human shape, only then could they prostrate like the Emperors of the Void, bowing before this Great Existence.

“I want it…”

“I truly want… to grow stronger… to become Human…”

Their craving grew ever more fevered, driving them toward madness.

However, who could blame them?

Yu Zi Yu’s words themselves were imbued with magic, stirring the most primal desire within them. And as the highest among Void Creatures, he held absolute dominion over these lesser Void Creatures.

Thus, the storm he had roused was terrifying indeed.

Looking from above, one would see countless Void Creatures bellowing to the skies, eyes blazing. Frenziness overtook them as though their blood had been set aflame.

However, this was only the beginning.

They still needed to grow.

And for Void Creatures, the best way to grow was through war.

Thus, with a cruel smile dancing on his lips, Yu Zi Yu spoke the final words, “We shall open for you the long-forgotten Gate of the Void. Slaughter, parasite, ruin, destroy and unleash your most primal desires without restraint…”

…

After a short while…

In the Buddhist Sect, it was as tranquil as ever. The sound of sutras drifted through the realm from time to time.

This was the Buddha Realm; a Great World, silent and serene, as though it were the very shore of Nirvana itself.

And indeed it was.

As one of the few terrifying forces to command an entire Great World within the cosmos, the Buddha Realm was quietly entrenched within a rift in space.

Except for the occasional intrusion of the Heavenly Demon Clan, a constant thorn in their side, life was peaceful as it had always been.

However, today… that peace might shatter.

“So this… is the Buddha Realm.” Tracing the faint remnants left behind by the Sacred Son of Buddha he had slayed, Yu Zi Yu arrived at the edge of the Buddha Realm.

Lifting his gaze, he saw the Buddha Realm, bathing in holy radiance, and encircled by soundless shimmering swastika of the Buddha, ‘卍’, nestled within the crevices of space, like a colossal golden egg.

“So those are the Heavenly Demons…” Softly murmuring, Yu Zi Yu noticed numerous beings, black and formless as mist, rushing madly toward the Buddha Realm.

However, before they could breach it…

*Boooooom…*

A blinding tide of Buddha Light surged forth, radiant as the noonday sun, evaporating them into nothing, leaving shrieks and howls echoing across the void.

The Heavenly Demon Clan was a bizarre race born in between the crevices of space, ever watching, ever coveting the Myriad Races of existence.

However, what the Heavenly Demons coveted most… were the cultivators of the Myriad Races.

The stronger the cultivator was, the more they coveted them.

Time and again, they would assume the guise of Heart Demons, infiltrating the minds of cultivators.

And if a cultivator faltered, their everything: body, soul, and spirit; would be devoured by the Heavenly Demon Clan, their essence reduced to mere nourishment for the Heavenly Demons’ growth.

However, this dreadful race… after the rise of the Buddhist Sect, gradually withered into decline, because the Buddhists cultivated the heart, or mind per se.

In other words, they had developed countless ways to temper and fortify the mind.

In other words, the Buddhist Sect was the greatest nemesis of the Heavenly Demons.

Even the most dazzling prodigy of the Heavenly Demon Clan, Heavenly Demon King of Six Desires, met his end at the hands of the Buddhist Sect.

That alone spoke volumes for the phenomenal power of the Buddhist Sect.

Currently, the low-level Heavenly Demons, drawn by the cultivators of the Buddhist Sect, were endlessly rushing toward the Buddha Realm.

However, before they could draw near, they were purified into nothingness by radiant Buddha Light.

As a matter of fact, while the Buddhist Sect was the bane of the Heavenly Demon Clan, its Disciples were also the most exquisite delicacy for the Heavenly Demons.

If a Heavenly Demon succeeded in devouring enough Buddhists, and then manifested in the universe in the form of Heart Demon, it would undergo a profound transformation.

And such, too, was understandable.

The greater the danger, the deadlier the path… the richer the opportunity concealed within.

Thus, to say that the Buddhist Sect and the Heavenly Demon Clan were born as mortal enemies, was no exaggeration.

When the Buddhist Sect flourished, the Heavenly Demons shrank into obscurity.

However, whenever the Buddhist Sect waned, the Heavenly Demons roamed rampant across the world.

“Compared to the Buddhist Sect, the Heavenly Demons are still a bit lacking.” With a faint sigh, Yu Zi Yu casually reached out.

*Boooooom…* In an instant, shrinking the wide distance to within his arm’s reach, Yu Zi Yu caught a small Heavenly Demon, struggling within his palm.

Race: Heavenly Demon
Rank: Tier-2

Racial Trait: Has no physical form, only exists in a state of nothingness.

Innate Talent: May manifest as a Heart Demon within the universe, and may devour the entirety of a cultivator’s being.

Gazing quietly at the writhing creature, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes glimmered with intrigue.

[Indeed, these Heavenly Demons are quite impressive. If I’m right, then in some bygone era, they too must have stood like the Void Creatures, enemies of all races beneath the Heavens. However, with the ascendance of the Buddhist Sect, they must have fallen into ruin… Until at last, they were reduced to little more than another race among the multitudes.]

[But this era… it’s the Era of the Void. Emerging from the rifts in space, hailing from deeper dimensions…grotesque and possessing all-encompassing nature, driven by the most primal desires…the Void Clan will rise as the new nemesis of all races. Compared to the Heavenly Demons, they bore an even greater threat, and an even greater horror. The Heavenly Demons need the veil of Heart Demons to reveal themselves in the universe, but the Void Creatures can descend outright, corrupting, parasitizing, and twisting the Myriad Races into fodder for their growth.]

“Could it be… that with every era, there must emerge a race worthy of being called ‘the enemy of all races’?” Suspicion couldn’t help but flickered across Yu Zi Yu’s face.
