“Their motives… I fear they are far from pure…” Bosun’s cold and detached voice echoed through the hall. His thoughts were the most complex of all, and his eyes flickered with an icy-cold gleam.

For those who might harbor ill intent, Bosun had never been one to soften his expression or his words.

However, now that his Master had returned, he believed the Demon Court was no longer his to lead. Thus, he chose to be silent.

However, at that moment, Yu Zi Yu’s voice suddenly sounded in his ear, “Bosun, how do you view the Dragon and Phoenix Clans arriving together?”

“Ah…” He was momentarily surprised, but Bosun responded without hesitation, “Master, if my guess is correct, they have come to test your strength. You’ve been absent for 100 years. No one knows the extent of your cultivation now. So their joint arrival this time… is simply to apply pressure, to make a statement… and to see your attitude in return.”

“En” Yu Zi Yu’s eyes glimmered with appreciation.

[This Disciple of mine truly thinks far ahead. In fact, his guess is likely 80-90% correct.] Yu Zi Yu’s heart welled up with joy at Bosun’s foresight. And as for Dragon and Phoenix Clans’ joint arrival, he paid it little mind.

They were not even on the same level of existence, why should he care? Would an elephant care about the probing of ants?

Naturally not.

If not for the fact that Yu Zi Yu had yet to grow to his full potential, had yet to reach that state where ‘numbers’ no longer mattered, he would already be tempted to sweep across the universe, crushing everything in his path.

Sweeping through would indeed be satisfying. However, its consequences would be equally great. After all, Yu Zi Yu had no desire to live beneath the constant watch of the Myriad Races, nor to be the subject of their ceaseless scheming.

True, given his current strength, he had nothing to fear for the next 100 or 1,000 years, but 10,000, or 100,000 years from now?

It might only take one careless moment, and some Heaven Defying prodigy could rise from the Myriad Races. Then, with the aid of Imperial Artifacts and other top-tier powerhouses, they could launch a crusade against him.

Was this not exactly what had befallen the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu?

At that thought, Yu Zi Yu could not help but feel a faint kinship.

Once, the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu had been much like him now. The only difference, Heaven-Connecting Jianmu had already lived under the constant watch of the world, while he still retained the choice to remain unseen.

…

In fact, throughout the ages, only Eternals could truly stand unrivaled. It was the ultimate end of life’s evolution, the final limit.

Only by attaining Eternity could one truly disregard numbers. At that point, not only could the Myriad Races encircle him without harm, but even should dozens of emperor-grade weapons awaken, Yu Zi Yu would remain unshaken and undefeated.

From a certain perspective, only Eternals could threaten Eternals.

As these thoughts crossed Yu Zi Yu’s mind, a smile bloomed on his lips, and his desire to attain Eternity grew ever stronger.

“Still… now that the Dragons and Phoenixes have come, I imagine the Buddhist Sect, the God Race, and other powers won’t be far behind,” murmuring to himself, Yu Zi Yu began to make his own deductions.

Now, with the unusual movements of the Void, the focus of all the Myriad Races had converged upon him.

Only Yu Zi Yu could truly contend with that mysterious Hegemon lurking within the Void.

Thus, the Myriad Races pinned their hopes on him, while also hoping for a clash between two great powers, so that they could reap the fishermen’s benefits while two clams fight.

Only, there was one thing none of them could possibly imagine, that mysterious Hegemon deep in the Void… was none other than Yu Zi Yu himself.

“Scheme however you like… but in the end, you are all still pieces on my board.” A bit of pride and satisfaction welled up within him. Yu Zi Yu was beginning to feel what it was like to hold all the cards in his hands.

And this was only the beginning.

Now, the matter of utmost importance was how to leverage the interplay of light and shadow to gain greater benefits.

Furthermore, Yu Zi Yu intended to use this as an opportunity to slowly erode the influence of the Myriad Races. Ideally, he hoped to divide the Myriad Races, and utilize the Demon Court to continually forge alliances with major Forces, thus reducing the chance of all Races uniting.

Even if, in the end, the Myriad Races truly did unite, the Demon Court must be counted among them, holding a place at that table.

This was the very purpose of Yu Zi Yu’s return.

And so…

*Boooooom…* Amidst a terrifying roar, a world-shaking surge of power rose from the depths of the Celestial Realm.

“What’s that?”

“How terrifying?! It’s like a storm sweeping all before it…”

“This aura… is this the Demon Emperor?”

…

One exclamation after another rang out as countless gazes turned toward the depths of the Celestial Realm.

There, a phantom manifestation of a Colossal Tree slowly appeared, its form so gigantic that it seemed to link the starry skies.

The manifestation swayed gently, its willow branches, resembling divine chains, also swayed with it.

With its each sway, ripples after ripples swept through space, as though the very fabric of reality had become fragile as paper.

However, the problem was that this was merely a manifestation born of pure aura!

And at this realization, the faces of many powerful beings changed drastically. Even Seraphim’s pupils contracted to needle-points.

“He’s gotten even stronger…” A heavy sigh escaped Serpahim, as he came to understand the thing called disparity.

At least for now, he could no longer see through the depth of this Demon Emperor’s strength.

And then, Yu Zi Yu’s voice suddenly echoed through the starry expanse, “You will go and welcome the Dragon and Phoenix Clans…”

“Yes, Lord Demon Emperor.”

As the reply rang out in unison…

*Boooom… boooom… boooom…*

In a flash, one thunderous roar followed another, as full ten earth-shattering auras suddenly erupted.

In one direction, treading on waves of flame, with silver chains bound around the body, dragging seven crimson tails behind her, a massive red fox strode in from the horizon.

And from another direction…

*Step… step…* Thunderous footsteps echoed, as if each footstep was triggering an earthquake.

Looking toward the source revealed a Bull-headed Humanoid Beast approaching, with an illusory black hole looming on its back.

The black hole behind the beast seemed to devour all light, even twisting the surrounding darkness.

It was an extremely terrifying and otherworldly sight.

This was the second of the First Generation Divine Beasts: Bull Demon.

And they were not alone…

Old Third, White Tiger, road the storm… Old Fourth, Sarchosuchu, looked like a vast mountain range coming alive… Old Fifth, Golden Ant, had transformed into a streak of dazzling gold.

All the First Generation Divine Beasts revealed themselves at this moment.

What shocked the Myriad Races of the universe, and even the Dragon and Phoenix Clans, was that each and every one of them stood at Tier-6.
