As the popular adage goes, ‘Seeing is believing.’

Now, he had truly witnessed it for himself, that a single person, relying on sheer presence alone, could be so terrifying. One could only imagine what kind of earth-shattering display it would be if such a person actually struck.

“The Demon Court… truly not something we can afford to provoke right now…” Sighing in his heart, the Second Elder of the Sword Sect made up his mind, so long as the Demon Court still had the Demon Emperor, they would not provoke it.

Otherwise, they might not even know how they had died.

As for those in the Sword Sect who prided themselves on being ‘slayers of demons and vanquishers of devils’, he decided to let them go try their luck instead.

…

Meanwhile, Yu Zi Yu had already entered the Demon Palace.

Step by step, he slowly ascended the nine decorated steps, reaching the supreme throne of the Demon Court.

On either side of the grand hall, every core member of the Demon Court was prostrating, including the Divine Beasts, Moon Princess, and Princess Ling Er.

“Greetings Demon Emperor…”

“Greetings Demon Emperor…”

In unison, their voice through the grand hall.

Though there were only a few dozen here, their voices carried more weight than the cheers of millions outside.

Simply because every being allowed within the hall was a ruler in their own right, and not one had cultivation below Tier-5.

They were the very heart of the Demon Court.

If they were to detach themselves from the Demon Court, they would be ruling over a part of the universe.

However, now, they had lowered themselves before Yu Zi Yu, as he approached the throne. In their eyes, he was their true king.

*Hooo…* Exhaling a long deep breath, Yu Zi Yu lightly brushed his fingers along the armrest of the throne and slowly sat.

The moment he did, the crushing weight that had filled the hall finally eased.

However, when they looked toward the figure seated upon the throne, they were unable to see it clearly, as if it was shrouded in mist.

Even White Tiger, with his Heavenly Eye, could not glimpse his True Form.

However, now was not the time to dwell on that.

With a faint smile tugging at his lips, Yu Zi Yu thanked everyone, “You’ve all worked hard…Thank you.”

“This is what we should do,” everyone replied in unison, as if on the same wavelength.

“Alright…” Yu Zi Yu gave them a smile, and accepted everything, without holding back.

Then, he turned his gaze toward Nine Tails standing at the head of the assembly, and exhorted, “After the welcoming ceremony… we’ll proceed with rewards and recognition, as well as receiving envoys from the Myriad Races… You will see to these arrangements.”

“Of course.” With a curt nod, Nine Tails added with a bright smile, “Lord Demon Emperor, everything is prepared already. We’re awaiting only your word.”

“Then let’s begin…”

Hearing this, all the majestic figures nodded in unison.

…

The distribution of rewards naturally went to the many who had rendered great service to the Demon Court over the past century.

Yu Zi Yu’s Third Disciple, Shea; the Moon Princess, Osmanthus; and Yu Zi Yu’s Second Disciple, Bosun; were all among those honored.

And just after the rewards were handed out, the Demon Palace received the envoys of the Myriad Races.

And among them, the most notable was none other than the emissary from the Buddhist Sect.

“By His Majesty’s decree, the Emissary of the Buddhist Sect is entering the Demonc Court…”

At the announcement, the figures within the Demon Court’s grand hall shifted to stand at either side, all eyes turning toward the entrance.

*Step… step…* Amidst the approaching footstep, a strikingly handsome monk, barefooted, entered everyone’s sight.

He was dressed in red kasaya, and had the signature bald head of the monks. His whole body was wreathed in a golden radiance. However, what drew even more attention was the tattoo of a True Dragon coiling across his back.

*Rooooar…*Faintly, a Dragon’s roar could be heard across the hall.

This was the Dragon Tamer Arhat, one of the famed Eighteen Arhats of the Buddhist Sect, seventeenth in rank, also called Venerable Kasyapa.

The Eighteen Arhats had been passed down from generation to generation. As for whether this generation of Dragon Tamer Arhat was worthy of its name, that remained to be seen.

“Your humble Monk greets the Demon Emperor…” Lifting his eyes toward the figure high upon the throne, the handsome man, who radiated a righteous aura befitting an Arhat, spoke with due respect.

“En” Giving a curt nod in response, Yu Zi Yu wasted no time and went straight to the point, “I hear you have sought an audience with me many times…”

“Yes, Lord Demon Emperor.” The Dragon Tamer Arhat acknowledged with a nod, before stating right away, “Our Sacred Son has fallen in battle in the Void. However, his passing was not without gain. The Buddhist Sect has now discovered that within the Void, a Hegemon has been born. I beg the Demon Emperor to take action… and subdue this fiend.”

His voice was filled with sincerity, so much so that one could not tell if it was genuine or false. His sharply defined features radiated an unshakable sense of righteousness.

It was no wonder, the Buddhist Sect had chosen to send him. If a man with such an upright presence, spoke of grave matters, it would naturally make it difficult for others to refuse.

However, Yu Zi Yu was not ‘others.’

His lips curved into a faint smile as he offered his condition straight away, “If you want us to take action, we just have one simple request. We wish to make a visit to your Sutra Hall.”

“Eh…?” Caught off guard, the Dragon Tamer Arhat stood frozen.

But before he could say anything, Yu Zi Yu’s voice continued, “We have long heard that the Sutra Hall of the Buddhist Sect is vast and profound. We have recently encountered a small bottleneck in my cultivation. If we could gain some enlightenment there, we would naturally be more confident in suppressing such a fiend. In such a case… surely your Buddhist Sect would not refuse…?”

His words flowed one after another, a smile bearing on his lips.

Yu Zi Yu’s request left no room for refusal.

After all, visiting the Sutra Hall to make better preparation to subdue a true monstrosity, that was quite an understandable request.

No one could find fault in it.

However, would those old relics of the Buddhist Sect permit it?

A doubt stirred in his heart. The Dragon Tamer Arhat could not be sure.

By his own disposition, he would have gladly agreed. After all, it was the Buddhist Sect that was seeking the Demon Emperor’s help. However, the ancient monks of the Buddhist Sect were different. They valued the Sect’s inheritance above all else.

If they learned that the Demon Emperor had set his sights on the Sutra Hall, they might just fly into a rage.
