Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1398: Chapter 1399: The Whole Family Arrives

Cheng Su’s family bought a new television, which made all the neighbors feel especially intrigued and envious. It’s important to know that televisions are particularly expensive appliances these days. Whose family can afford one? Even if they want to, they can’t afford it!

But for Cheng Su’s family, money is not an issue. They bought a color one, and in this large courtyard, they’re the only ones!

The night that the TV was installed, everyone from the same building came over to see the novelty and the excitement. When they saw ”Dream of the Red Chamber” playing, they simply sat down to watch and didn’t leave!

Cheng Su figured that on New Year’s Eve, everyone would definitely gather together to watch the gala. In that case, the New Year’s goods might not be enough, so she pulled Xiao Yun to go shopping and conveniently bought two new outfits for the little girl.

Of course, she didn’t forget about her mother-in-law at home. As for her father-in-law, they could only wait for them to come and then go shopping together.

On the 29th of the month, employees who were supposed to have time off were already on holiday. Her in-laws from the hometown called early in the morning to inform them of their departure time. Since Cheng Su was pregnant, Mother Qi wouldn’t let her go to meet them, so she called Qi Fenglian to go instead.

Qi Jianguo was coming to Cheng Su’s place. Once he was welcomed, he brought everyone by car!

”Dad, please sit. If it weren’t for my condition, I would definitely go pick you all up!” Cheng Su said with a smile, greeting them.

”No worries, your health is important, and Jianguo knows the way.” Father Qi laughed, looking around Cheng Su’s house, and then his eyes lit up when he saw the TV: ”Hey, you bought a television?”

”I thought there wouldn’t be much entertainment for the New Year, so I bought one to watch the gala and have some fun.” Cheng Su laughed and said, ”Dad, I’ll buy you one next year!”

”Good, good!”

”It costs over a thousand bucks—she’s the only one willing!” Mother Qi grumbled nearby.

Father Qi glanced at her casually.

”Take a seat now. Why bring so many things? Qing City has everything.” Cheng Su looked at the things on the ground and said.

Qi Jianguo said, ”Dad said the chickens at home were intended for New Year’s dinner. Now our whole family has come, and sister-in-law, you’re carrying my little nephew, so we might as well bring them here to eat. In the spring, we’ll raise new ones.”

”Dad, you could have kept them for after New Year’s!” Cheng Su smiled and said.

”How much can you eat? You’re carrying twins, you should have more good food!” Father Qi chuckled as he sat on the sofa, touching it. It was soft, warm, and more comfortable than the wooden benches or rattan chairs.

Father Qi felt utterly satisfied and comforted inside. Just seeing how clean and comfy this house was, he knew his eldest son’s life was really good and had gotten better.

All thanks to their daughter-in-law’s good fortune. Not bad—although she was married through a gratitude agreement, it turns out they didn’t choose wrong. She brings luck to her husband and their family.

Father Qi thought of this and smiled pleasantly.

Qi Fengping also surveyed the house and bit her lip, not speaking.

Since that incident, she became much more reserved and unwilling to meet people. Her previously carefree and haughty nature had completely changed after the big shock, as if she had become a different person.

Cheng Su carefully observed her complexion, which was much better than just after she lost the baby, but after all, it was a major injury, and she had become more reserved. At nearly nineteen, she seemed to have gained a touch of weariness.

”How is little aunt’s studying going? Jianguo is back for the holiday; if you don’t understand anything, you could always ask him!” Cheng Su smiled and asked.

Regarding this sister-in-law, Qi Fengping didn’t dare to belittle or disrespect her anymore. Hearing her ask like that, she didn’t say much but just nodded.
