Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1387: Chapter 1388: Putting on a Long Face at the Drop of a Hat

Mother Qi was suppressing her anger, but she knew the grandson was the most important, so she didn’t dare to argue with Cheng Su. After cooking and setting the dishes on the table, she called them to eat.

Cheng Su walked out of the room and immediately smelled something pungent, her face changed instantly, and she rushed into the bathroom.

Mother Qi was stunned and exchanged glances with Qi Taiguo, they hadn’t even started eating yet!

Qi Taiguo followed, and after a while, Cheng Su came out with a pale face, covering her mouth and nose, and walked to the dining table to take a look.

There were only three dishes, but each one had garlic, ginger, and scallion. No wonder the smell was so strong. She took two steps back and said, ”Mom, in the future, please don’t use these ingredients when cooking. I can’t even stand the smell, let alone eat them!”

”How can you eat dishes without garlic, ginger, and scallion? Don’t be so delicate. The more you pamper a pregnant woman, the harder it is to raise a child. The coarser you eat, the stronger the child will be.” Mother Qi pointed at Qi Taiguo and said, ”Look at Taiguo, you know, when I was pregnant with him, I even ate tree bark. In those days, where was there food? Yet he was raised tall and big, weighing seven pounds and five at birth!”

Cheng Su frowned.

”I’m telling the truth, don’t believe me if you want. I think you’re just making a fuss because you’re spoiled. Otherwise, how could you be vomiting so much?” Mother Qi muttered, ”Don’t let the child grow up spoiled like you.”

Cheng Su was so angry her chest was heaving, and she said, ”I can’t stand these smells right now, and I can’t eat them either!” She looked at Qi Taiguo, her eyes full of a clear threat.

Qi Taiguo said, ”Mom, her situation is special now. If she can’t eat them, don’t add them, it will just be a bit bland.” Then, he kept blinking at her.

Mother Qi was furious, she was already annoyed by her son’s nervousness, and now this happened, she couldn’t hold back anymore and said, ”Everyone says this, why can’t she? Being delicate isn’t the same as being spoiled, this...”

”I’m not eating, you guys go ahead!” Cheng Su turned and went back to the room.

Bam!

The door slammed loudly.

The mother and son in the living room were both stunned, and Mother Qi almost jumped up and said, ”Look at this attitude, who treats their mother-in-law like this, showing such a face? If this were in the village, people would definitely call her unfilial!”

”Mom!” Qi Taiguo was very troubled, interrupting her, he persuaded, ”If she can’t eat it, then don’t make it. What’s the point of saying she’s spoiled now? It’s just about not using garlic or scallion, how big of a deal is it!”

”You just keep siding with her, let her have her way and sooner or later, she’ll walk all over you.” Mother Qi gritted her teeth, ”Eating this stuff won’t kill her!”

”But she still has to eat it! Look, just smelling it made her vomit, can you expect her to eat it and not throw up? The key now is that she doesn’t throw up, so whatever she wants to eat or not eat, it’s up to her. The key is that she can eat, which is also the most important thing. Otherwise, if she can’t eat, the child won’t absorb nutrients. Your talk of roughness is just nonsense if she can’t eat!” Qi Taiguo said.

Mother Qi was taken aback and sat down heavily on the couch. ”I’ve never seen someone so delicate!”

”Anyway, the most important thing is what she can eat, right? Only if she eats can the baby get nutrition, and eating provides nutrients for your grandson!” Qi Taiguo persuaded earnestly.

”Fine, fine, if she doesn’t eat, she doesn’t eat!” Mother Qi waved her hand, ”Then we just won’t make it in the future!”

Qi Taiguo breathed a sigh of relief and hurried back into the room to comfort Cheng Su. He was busy soothing her for a long time until she finally calmed down, but he was sweating all over. How was he supposed to handle the in-law relationship if this was how things would be during the festive period?
