Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1363: Chapter 1364: Let’s Adopt ’You

Cheng Su was sure she returned here because she was dragged down by this current body. As for the reason, she naturally didn’t know, but it must be this body that pulled her down.

Now that she’s back, but Little Cheng Su is slowly growing up, until the future, until the day she’s pulled down again, will it still be the case?

”If it still happens, if I drag myself down, then, for what reason, what exactly happened?” Cheng Su was terrified.

Qi Taiguo quickly said, ”Alright, alright, stop thinking about it, I was just speaking casually, why did you take it seriously?” Feeling very regretful inside, he thought he shouldn’t have said that.

”But...”

”No more buts, we don’t know what the future holds, and besides, in a few decades, I’ll be an old man, and you’ll be a middle-aged woman, who knows what would happen then!” Qi Taiguo tried to comfort her, ”Whatever happens, heaven must have its reasons, everything is arranged by heaven.”

Cheng Su stared blankly at ’herself’ and mumbled, ”Is it like this?”

”It will be like this.” Qi Taiguo patted her hand, saying, ”Stop overthinking, look, you’re scaring the child, she’ll start crying in a moment!”

Cheng Su forced a smile, ”I’m scared!”

Afraid that things would repeat, yet she didn’t know, for what reason she had pulled herself down from the building.

In a past life, was the soul within the body that pulled herself down also her own?

Cheng Su was extremely confused.

”Su, Su ah ah.” Little Cheng Su seemed to sense her panic and reached out her hand toward her.

Cheng Su picked her up, looked at her eyebrows and eyes, and gently caressed her face.

”Susu, if you really can’t let go, how about we adopt her?” Qi Taiguo suggested.

Cheng Su was stunned, ”What did you say?”

”We can adopt ’you’, we personally raise ’you’.” Qi Taiguo said.

”No, if we adopt her, then is she still the past me? Wouldn’t this change the course of history?” Cheng Su shook her head in refusal.

Qi Taiguo countered, ”How is this changing the course of history? She still exists, she’s still you, it’s just a different way of living, less bitter than the past!”

”No, it’s not. It’s precisely because of that bitterness that I became who I am today, it made me keep moving forward with clenched teeth, relying entirely on myself.” Cheng Su shook her head, looking at him, ”If we bring her home, then how am I supposed to position myself? And how should you position yourself?”

Qi Taiguo was slightly stunned.

”Besides, regarding the matter with Fengping, we just refused your mother, saying we wouldn’t raise her child. Now, if we adopt a child from the orphanage, do you think she’ll react explosively? I don’t want a moment’s peace in the house.” Cheng Su said calmly, ”Even though we can be firm, conflicts will inevitably arise, and in the future, when we have children, I’m afraid the child will suffer more grievances. So, it’s better to grow up in the orphanage, at least she’ll be independent and self-reliant, for now I can support her too.”

”It’s still better to grow up with love and care. You might actually lack a sense of security, and it might not be unrelated to such an experience!” Qi Taiguo looked at her and said.

Cheng Su was once again stunned, lacking a sense of security, her? Is that so?

Qi Taiguo took her hand, saying, ”I know, you always have some defenses in your heart, not daring to fully trust people, that’s because you lack a sense of security, because your past life forced you to be this way. So, wouldn’t a different way of living be better?”
