Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1382: Chapter 1383: You Get Used to Nausea Eventually

Cheng Su looked at him with a sad face, feeling a bit uneasy herself. But asking her to live with her mother-in-law for ten months—two generations, especially given the many frictions they’ve had—would it be nurturing the pregnancy or making herself uncomfortable?

”Susu, you can’t manage on your own. You have to cook and do household chores, laundry and all that. It’s exhausting. If they come, it’ll be easier for you!” Qi Taiguo said.

Cheng Su laughed, ”Look at Chunhua and the others, who’s not doing the same when pregnant? Hualing is even working at the hospital. When it’s my turn, why am I so delicate? Besides, aren’t you here? You have missions, but you won’t be gone for a whole year, right?”

”That’s true, but how can it be compared to Chunhua and them? Your health isn’t good, and before...” Qi Taiguo stopped, cautiously looking at her.

Cheng Su had already understood his meaning. He was merely saying she had miscarried before, her body was not like those who hadn’t gone through any issues.

Her face dimmed, gently sweeping her belly back and forth, saying, ”You know, I don’t get along with your mom, and we are two generations apart, with different thoughts. I want to be comfortable during my pregnancy.”

Qi Taiguo’s brows furrowed into the shape of a river.

”Then call your mom!”

Cheng Su said, ”Call my mom, not your mom, only she’d probably wonder if I was being dismissive of her! Why bother, we can call her when I’m seven or eight months along!”

She looked at him longingly.

Qi Taiguo’s heart softened and he conceded: ”Alright, let’s not talk about this now.” After pausing for a moment, he still felt a bit unsettled, grumbling, ”You, why are you so stubborn!”

Cheng Su snuggled up to him like a cat, acting spoiled, and Qi Taiguo’s stern face broke.

For the time being, they set aside the issue of someone coming to care for her, but life still went on. By mid-to-late month, Cheng Su’s school holidays began, and she finally had a breather because she started experiencing nausea and drowsiness.

Due to these symptoms, at the Jam Company, tasks like accounting needed to be arranged. Cheng Su asked Ning Ge to come back and manage matters, while over at Joy Soon Loy, things could be left alone as Old Song would coordinate with the finance team for accounts. As for the fast food restaurant at the train station, that was even simpler.

Cheng Su finally tasted the bitterness of morning sickness, and her previous smugness about having no reaction was thrown far away.

Qi Taiguo watched her eat and then throw up, to the point she seemed like she might cough her lungs out. He was so anxious he wanted to kill someone, calling Mother Qi every day for solutions and asking Chunhua and the others.

As a result, everyone knew Cheng Su was pregnant, and all sorts of sour plums and such flowed to her side like water, leaving the couple grateful.

”It’ll get better after three months. After three months, you won’t vomit as much, just hang in there!” Chunhua said.

”Not necessarily,” Guiying said fearfully, ”I’ve heard of people vomiting until delivery, it’s so uncomfortable! When I had Cancan, the woman in the bed next to mine said she survived on broth the whole time.”

Cheng Su’s face turned pale with fear: ”Vomiting until delivery?” Heaven wouldn’t be so cruel to her, would it?

”Don’t overthink it, just keep a happy mindset. Pregnancy goes by like this, and those women who don’t vomit are practically The Queen incarnate. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it!” Hualing, speaking from experience, glanced at Cheng Su and said.

Cheng Su rolled her eyes, wanting to retort, but a wave rolled in her chest again, and she rushed to the bathroom.
