Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1369: Chapter 1370: Huge Misunderstanding

After the tea ceremony and receiving the recognition gift, the birthday banquet officially began, and dishes were gradually served. After taking a few bites, Cheng Su was called up by Old Master Cheng.

”Come, accompany me to toast,” he said, picking up the wine glass before him.

Cheng Su quickly picked up her wine glass and followed.

”Taiguo, you come along too!” Old Master Cheng said.

Qi Taiguo was slightly stunned, nodded with a smile, picked up his wine glass, and stood up.

Thus, the group grandiosely went from table to table toasting, accompanied by Cheng Yaoguang and Cheng Yaozu as the hosts, besides Qi Taiguo and his wife.

At each table, Old Master Cheng introduced Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo to people of connections, and of course, didn’t forget to introduce their identities.

Upon learning of Qi Taiguo’s position as a vice battalion commander, everyone roughly understood why Old Master Cheng, at his age, recognized such a goddaughter—probably aiming for Qi Taiguo!

The Cheng family has Cheng Yaoguang in political circles, and their connections are mostly in civil affairs, whereas military ties they have, but aren’t as strong as in civil affairs.

But in fact, what they assumed wasn’t true, Old Master Cheng recognized this relation purely for Cheng Su herself, not her husband.

However, such things didn’t need explaining, it was clear to themselves.

Old Master Ning remarked to Ning Ge: ”Xiao Cheng, this girl, is quite fortunate. In the Capital, she has the Ning family, and in Guangcheng, the Cheng family as her backing. No matter how you look at it, she’s well-connected!”

Ning Ge said, ”Old man, aren’t you a bit jealous?”

Old Master Ning glared at him, ”Get lost, how can you say such things?”

Ning Ge chuckled, his eyes looking towards Cheng Su and the others. Suddenly he paused, the prawn he was holding with his chopsticks dropped.

”Old man, I’ve spotted someone familiar, I’ll go say a few words!” Ning Ge tossed down his chopsticks and left his seat.

Old Master Ning curiously looked over, only to see the lad crossing several tables and sitting beside a young lady, surprised, wondering who she was.

”Oh, it’s really you! You linger around, even following me here!” Ning Ge glared at Song Jiaying.

Song Jiaying was equally surprised to see Ning Ge, ”What are you doing here?”

”I was about to ask you the same.” Ning Ge snorted.

Song Jiaying darkened her face at his ’lurking around’, and said, ”My grandfather and Old Master Cheng are old friends. I was entrusted by my grandfather to come and celebrate!”

So that’s how it is, Ning Ge pointed towards his own old man: ”I’ve come with my old man!”

Song Jiaying looked over and saw Old Master Ning also looking her way. She quickly nodded, lowered her voice, and said, ”In that case, why don’t you leave now?”

”Why should I? Miss Song, have you forgotten you owe me a favor?” Ning Ge said, ”Had I not accompanied you for that meal, your mom would have chased you, right?”

”You...” Song Jiaying gritted her teeth, ”What do you want.”

”Nothing much!” Ning Ge saw her cold face cracking and suddenly felt elated, ”I’ll let you know when I think of something!”

Song Jiaying’s expression turned even colder.

Ning Ge, feeling pleased, hummed at her icy demeanor.

Just as he was about to leave, the toasting party came up to him, blocking his way.

”Oh, Ning Xiaosi, weren’t you sitting with your dad over there? How come you’re sitting here now?” Old Master Cheng approached, saw Song Jiaying, glanced at both of them with a smile, ”You know Xiao Ying too? That’s nice, you make a good match.”

Big misunderstanding!

Ning Ge and Song Jiaying both had dark expressions, Ning Ge facing Cheng Su’s amused gaze, suddenly regretted his impulsive decision to hop tables.
