Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1380: Chapter 1381: Diagnosis Confirmed

Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo returned to Qing City with all these big and small packages, eager to share the good news with the family.

”Don’t, the timing is still too early!” Cheng Su hurriedly pulled him back, saying, ”Let’s wait a few more days for a confirmed diagnosis. Otherwise, if it’s a mistake, it would be really embarrassing, and they’d be happy for nothing!”

Qi Taiguo thought about it and agreed, so he restrained himself, but was still excessively anxious about Cheng Su. He refused to let her do any heavy work, made her sit, and insisted she eat the supplements they brought back from Guangcheng every day, which left Cheng Su both amused and annoyed.

The couple counted the days anxiously. As the year’s end approached, every business was closing accounts, and it was a busy time. But Cheng Su was confined at home by Qi Taiguo, reasoning that as they had just conceived, and without a confirmation yet, they needed to be careful and avoid excessive fatigue.

However, Cheng Su said, ”We did it before going to Guangcheng too, I wonder if it would affect anything?”

Qi Taiguo’s face changed: ”Why don’t we go to the hospital and check?”

Seeing his serious expression, Cheng Su couldn’t help but laugh, ”It’s okay! If something were wrong, I would’ve felt unwell a long time ago.”

Qi Taiguo let out a breath, ”You scared me!”

Cheng Su teased him on purpose, ”What shall we do if I’m really pregnant? You might have to become a monk!”

”The child is most important!” Qi Taiguo glared at her, ”I was a monk for 27 or 28 years before marrying you; can’t I endure a few months now?”

Cheng Su was comforted, blushing, ”I heard from others that there are days in between where it’s okay.”

Qi Taiguo understood, but said, ”We’ll see, I’m a soldier with strong willpower, I can endure!”

Cheng Su raised an eyebrow, ”Hmm? I better remember those words, and so should you. Don’t forget them in the future!”

Qi Taiguo gave a mischievous smile.

Though she couldn’t go to the store, she still had to go to school. It was close to the end of the term, and as she had taken a leave earlier, she needed to show up for the finals. Fortunately, it was nearing the year’s end, and school was about to go on holiday too.

As for school matters, Qi Taiguo had no say, he had to go along with her, but repeatedly instructed her to be careful.

Cheng Su found it funny, but didn’t dare to be careless, always being cautious. Fortunately, nothing major happened.

Finally, after seven days past her due period, Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo were relieved. Qi Taiguo even took a day off to accompany her for a medical check-up at the hospital.

Both were mentally prepared, but when the doctor announced she was indeed pregnant, they were both extremely happy and delighted.

Cheng Su was overjoyed to tears, clutching Qi Taiguo’s hand and sobbing, ”I thought I couldn’t get pregnant!”

”Stop crying, be careful not to pass it on to the baby, or the child might be a crybaby like you, then should I console you or the child?” Qi Taiguo joked.

”Annoying!”

”Oh, I forgot to ask the doctor some questions about things to be careful of. You sit here, I’ll go back and ask.” Qi Taiguo helped her to a chair and rushed back.

Cheng Su sat, placing her hand on her belly, smiling contentedly. Here lay her flesh and blood, connected by blood, her true family.

”Baby, you must be good and grow up healthily!” Cheng Su gently caressed it and said.

Soon, Qi Taiguo came out, and Cheng Su asked what he had asked.

”All the precautions for pregnancy, asked thoroughly, so we don’t make any taboo mistakes,” Qi Taiguo said.

Cheng Su teased him, ”You’re overly worried!”

The two walked out hand in hand.
