Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1391: Chapter 1392: My Choices Are Not My Choices Either

Ning Ge looked at her, sincerity and concern reflected in her eyes, warming his heart as he turned away.

”In the past, I quite enjoyed doing things that others didn’t know about, found it quite exciting. Later, when my identity was exposed, I thought about switching to the open path, but then I didn’t really want to.” Ning Ge said as he walked, ”I just thought it was quite nice now, openly, I’m a businessman, but in secret, I’m an undercover agent, with two identities, two masks.”

”But isn’t that exhausting?” Cheng Su asked, ”Isn’t it tiring to keep switching masks like that?”

Ning Ge was shaken, and his steps paused.

Cheng Su looked at him and said, ”Living with masks on all the time is so tiring. Don’t you sometimes feel you can’t even tell which one is the real you?”

Ning Ge’s throat moved, and after a long while, he said, ”But isn’t everyone like this? Wearing two or more masks.”

Cheng Su smiled, ”Yeah, but we can still choose, can’t we? Wouldn’t it be better to make things easier on ourselves?”

She walked slowly ahead, and Ning Ge followed.

”And you, do you regret your choices?” Ning Ge hesitated for a moment and asked.

”Hmm?”

”Like getting married so young, marrying Qi Taiguo. You’re so young and capable, you should have better choices!” Ning Ge asked.

Cheng Su was taken aback, turned her eyes away, and after a moment, said, ”My choice wasn’t my choice either.”

”What?”

”Nothing, just like that.” Cheng Su smiled lightly, ”No regrets or anything. If you choose something and it’s not like what you imagined, then find a way to make it like your imagination. Solutions are created by people, and change is something you have to create yourself!”

Ning Ge tilted his head slightly, thinking her words were very philosophical.

”With Qi Taiguo, things are quite good now. He’s good to me, he loves me, and I love him. He might be quite macho, but he’s the first person in this world to give me warmth!” Cheng Su said.

What, the first to give her warmth, shouldn’t it have been her parents?

Ning Ge found it increasingly strange.

”Just like that, I guess he was the one who buried me in a past life.” Cheng Su chuckled.

Ning Ge frowned and asked, ”Are you pregnant and has it fried your brain? Why are you talking nonsense?”

Cheng Su glared at him and said, ”You should plan carefully too, you’re nearly thirty, decide on a career path and go for it. I believe, whether in politics or business, you should do well!” She touched her belly and said, ”I’m pregnant, my heart has softened, and I’ve become more timid. I don’t like hearing bad news about friends. I hope you, and others, stay safe and sound.”

Ning Ge’s body shook slightly and said, ”Listen to you, really pregnant, talking so emotionally!”

”Just thinking about you,” Cheng Su scoffed.

”Alright, I get it, in the future, whatever I want, I’ll tell you, okay!” Ning Ge glanced at her stomach and said, ”I want to be the godfather!”

Cheng Su gave him a look, ”Have your own!” Thinking of Doctor Song, she smiled ambiguously, ”How’s it going with that Doctor Song?”

The sudden change of topic caught Ning Ge off guard. Thinking of that woman, he said, ”Why bring up that ice queen? It’s cold enough already. Let’s go back, it’s too cold!”

Watching him walk away with arms crossed, Cheng Su squinted slightly, acting as if dismissing him, isn’t there something more going on?
