Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1394: Chapter 1395: Investing in Your Eldest Sister

Cheng Su felt a bit disdainful of her mother-in-law’s behavior, but she didn’t say anything. She quietly put away the envelope and said, ”Hmm. This is the widow of Qi Taiguo’s former superior. Back in the day, Platoon Leader Zheng sacrificed himself to save Qi Taiguo, leaving behind a house full of orphans and widows.”

”What? There’s such a thing?” Mother Qi was startled.

Cheng Su nodded and said, ”It was a long time ago. Taiguo felt guilty in his heart and often helped them. I thought this wasn’t a solution, so I discussed it with Taiguo. Seeing that she had a skill, we invested a little money and opened a bun shop!”

”How much was it?”

”Not much, just a few hundred yuan,” Cheng Su said lightly.

”A few hundred yuan isn’t much?” Mother Qi exclaimed, then added, ”Even offering help wouldn’t cost that much!”

”Mom, constantly offering help is not as good as investing to help them become self-sufficient. Besides, can a human life be compared with money?” Cheng Su said with a stern face. ”Not to mention, investments have returns, and they’ve come to deliver dividends.”

”Sacrifices in battle can’t be helped,” Mother Qi replied awkwardly.

Cheng Su sneered, ”Indeed, sacrifices can’t be helped, but there’s no rule that says one must lose their life to save your son’s life in battle because sacrifices can’t be helped.”

He saved her son, and speaking like this, does her conscience not ache?

Mother Qi’s face turned dark. What kind of talk is this, who is she cursing!

Cheng Su ignored her, took the money back to her room, closed the door, and finally opened the dividend sent by Little Yu.

After counting, there were eight Great Unity RMB. How many buns would her shop have to sell in a day to be able to distribute eight Great Unity RMB?

Cheng Su shook her head, realizing the character of a person. Little Yu could completely withhold the dividends out of gratitude or wait until she accumulated enough to repay her initial investment in one go.

But she still set up a shareholding contract and now delivered dividends.

So, you really need to judge people; not everyone is worth helping.

Cheng Su lay on the bed for a while, dozing off, and was called by Mother Qi to get up for dinner.

She felt very tired today, and her appetite was poor. Even if it was cured meat, she was unwilling to eat and couldn’t stomach it.

Mother Qi looked at her with a bowl of rice and said, ”Today, I heard you talking with that sister-in-law about that bun business, quite articulate.”

Cheng Su, feeling dispirited, picked at the rice grains in her bowl and glanced at her mother-in-law upon hearing this, waiting for her to continue.

”You’re clever, good at business, and have ideas. Rather than letting outsiders benefit, why not let your own family benefit,” Mother Qi said, gritting her teeth. ”Your older sister is now taking care of two kids alone. Working at your place, she doesn’t earn much. Why not invest in a bun shop for her to run, even if it’s frozen food!”

Cheng Su slammed her chopsticks down on the table.

Mother Qi jumped in fright, looking at her.

”Mother-in-law, they have the skills, that’s theirs, and that’s why they can succeed. Does my older sister have those skills? If she could make something just as delicious, then I wouldn’t need to invest. My older sister has been working with me for so long, she could open a small bun shop herself.” Cheng Su said coldly, ”This matter, you should discuss with my sister, not with me!”

What is this, saying she helps outsiders but not her own family?

Qi Fenglian wants to open a store, and she can’t manage it? Giving her a job and a monthly salary of forty yuan is already quite high, considering the two children.

Yet Mother Qi still wants to dig money from her? Does she think she’s running a gold mine?
