Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1393: Chapter 1394: Mother-in-law Peeks at the Envelope

Came to deliver the bonus.

Cheng Su was stunned for a moment, looked at the envelope, and said with a smile, ”Sis, look at you doing this, I’ve already said, that...” She caught a glimpse of Mother Qi still there and hastily changed her tone, ”There’s no rush, you’ve just opened the shop, and money is needed everywhere.”

Little Yu, not being foolish, saw Cheng Su change her tune abruptly and realized she was mindful of her mother-in-law. She smiled and said, ”The shop has been open for over half a year, and business is pretty good. There’s profit now, and with the New Year approaching, I’m here to deliver the bonus to you!”

Cheng Su asked, ”Is business good now? How is your family? Everyone well?”

”Thanks to you, everyone is well. My in-laws help me out regularly, and sometimes the two little ones help too. We can manage!” Little Yu said with a smile.

”Making money is important, but health is equally important. If it gets too busy, you should get a helper.”

Little Yu nodded, ”For now, we can still manage, so there’s no need. By the time we need help, the business will probably have grown!”

Cheng Su smiled, ”As long as your dumpling shop has good taste and enough ingredients, you won’t have to worry about business. But you must ensure hygiene and authenticity. Even though it’s just a small dumpling shop now, the business will get better and better. You’ll open branches, chain stores, create your own brand, and even make frozen food!”

Little Yu got interested upon hearing this, ”Create my own brand? Frozen food? What’s that idea?”

Cheng Su excitedly explained about frozen food, like dumplings and buns, prepared and packed, ready to eat after steaming or boiling.

”I’ve never seen this before; I’ll study it well.” Listening to this, Little Yu felt excited. If it turns out as Cheng Su describes, it would be a big business.

”There’s no rush. Doing that requires sufficient funds, especially for preservation, which is very meticulous. For now, focus on solidifying the business, try to open branches, chain stores. Once you have enough funds, then consider it,” Cheng Su said.

Little Yu nodded, ”I know, you eat bite by bite, walk step by step. I understand.”

Cheng Su smiled and took a sip of water.

”Speaking of which, it’s thanks to your idea; otherwise, who knows where I’d be mining now, how could I enjoy the current freedom, earning my own money, and I’m not tight with money anymore.” Little Yu held Cheng Su’s hand and said, ”So you must accept this bonus, otherwise I wouldn’t feel at ease.”

”Listen to you talk; I just invested a little money, how could it warrant such gratitude?” Cheng Su laughed and said, ”Sis, you living well sets our mind at ease. Platoon Leader Zheng, wherever he is, would be relieved too!”

Little Yu’s eyes were slightly red, she nodded. She then saw the clock and said, ”Oh, it’s getting late, I need to go, I haven’t bought the things yet!”

Cheng Su also checked the time and said, ”Next time, let me know ahead when you’re coming, so we can have a good chat, and bring Niannian and the others over to play!”

”Alright, I’m off then!” Little Yu stood up.

Cheng Su escorted her out. Little Yu said goodbye to Mother Qi, and the two left one after the other.

After seeing Little Yu out of the compound, Cheng Su returned home and saw Mother Qi secretly looking at the money inside the envelope that Little Yu had left.

Seeing Cheng Su come back, she awkwardly put down the envelope and said, ”I just heard you say it’s a bonus from a dumpling shop?”
