I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 597: Chapter 596: Missing

Mrs. Cheng was taken aback, thought for a moment, and shook her head, ”I haven’t experienced anything bloody, why is Doctor Bei asking this?”

Beisitian repeated what Cheng Tianji had just said to Mrs. Cheng. Mrs. Cheng was shocked and covered her mouth. Why did her son say such words? Could it be that her son had experienced something terrible without her knowing?

”Please think about it again. He wouldn’t say it randomly, and after describing it, he had a vomiting reaction. Obviously, if I’m not mistaken, this anorexia was caused by that.”

If the cause of the illness can be found, it would be more helpful for Cheng Tianji’s treatment, and the hope for recovery would be faster.

Mrs. Cheng carefully recollected that her son’s illness started two and a half years ago. What happened two and a half years ago... At this point, she suddenly remembered something and said, ”My son was kidnapped once...”

At that time, it was when Cheng ZhenGuo was running for election, and this incident significantly affected his election. Fortunately, the child was rescued in the end, and Cheng ZhenGuo was successfully elected.

In the end, it was never discovered who did it, but they all speculated that it was undoubtedly a trap set by competitors to distract Cheng ZhenGuo.

Cheng ZhenGuo had suspects but no concrete evidence.

After returning that time, Cheng Tianji locked himself in his room for a long time. They knew the child was terrified and had psychological shadows, which was indeed the case.

At that time, Mrs. Cheng began to look for a psychologist to guide him. After a period of treatment, the child no longer had nightmares at night and wouldn’t lock himself in the room, but he didn’t eat much, and he vomited after eating.

Initially, Cheng ZhenGuo and his wife didn’t take it seriously, thinking the child was just picky with food. Because it wasn’t taken seriously at the time, it eventually turned into anorexia.

After the diagnosis of this illness, the couple didn’t think much of it, but as Cheng Tianji’s body declined day by day and he couldn’t eat a single bite, they realized the situation might get very bad, and they started to seek medical help everywhere.

Upon hearing this, Beisitian knew that, more likely than not, it was because Cheng Tianji saw something very bloody during that kidnapping, which led to his disgust at the sight of anything.

Even for an emotionally mature person in such a peaceful era, seeing blood everywhere mixed with flesh would create severe psychological shadows, let alone the possibility that what Cheng Tianji encountered might be far more terrifying than the few words he described.

Knowing the possible cause of Cheng Tianji’s illness, Beisitian now had another treatment method. One was still to gradually let Cheng Tianji accept the taste of food, as originally planned, and the other was to undergo psychological treatment.

It’s just that psychological treatment is not Beisitian’s expertise. After thinking about it, she still decided to supplement the original treatment method with psychological therapy.

”Don’t bring this up to him for now, just act as if you don’t know,” said Beisitian.

Mrs. Cheng nodded with tears in her eyes, silently weeping.

Beisitian checked the time and prepared to leave. Chen Jinliang was sitting in the car and hadn’t seen Beisitian come out; he seemed to be lost in thought.

It wasn’t until Beisitian got in the car that Chen Jinliang snapped out of it and smiled, ”Sister-in-law, going home?”

”Going home, thank you,” Beisitian replied with a smile.

”Why are you still so polite after knowing each other for so long?” Chen Jinliang started the car, his smile faded a bit, and he glanced at Beisitian through the rearview mirror with slightly raised eyes.

Beisitian was thinking about Cheng Tianji’s situation and did not notice anything unusual about Chen Jinliang.

Upon reaching the small courtyard’s entrance, Cheng Tianji got out of the car to open the door for Beisitian. Watching as Beisitian carefully got out of the car, he declined her invitation to enter the courtyard as usual, stood there watching her enter, and then his smile gradually faded.

At this moment, he furrowed his brows, got back in the car facing the windshield, and once again became lost in thought. Vice Commander Luo had already been missing for two days. A search and rescue team had been dispatched to the last reported location.

Chen Jinliang knew that such missions usually ended in sacrifice once news of a disappearance came. He found it hard to imagine how someone like Vice Commander Luo, a war god-like figure, could also encounter such a situation!

Moreover, the sister-in-law was pregnant now, and knowing this news would likely cause a big emotional turmoil, which was why the unit kept it hidden.

Chen Jinliang started the car with a furrowed brow and drove back to the unit. If ultimately Vice Commander Luo really couldn’t return, they hoped to keep it a secret until after the sister-in-law gave birth, so she could be at peace and Vice Commander Luo could have a descendant.

Chen Jinliang’s thoughts traveled a bit far, but missions like these inherently carried high risks. Many would write a will before leaving for a mission, handing it to their superiors, and if they didn’t make it back, it would be given to their family along with compensation.

Beisitian had been somewhat uneasy lately, her sleep quality also declined. The next day, she visited the elder; Luo Xudong hadn’t been heard from in a month, and he had never lost contact for so long before on a mission. She was very worried.

”Don’t worry too much. With Xudong’s skills, he’ll be fine. Besides, now that he has you four, he will cherish his life more,” Wu Yuekai said.

Beisitian nodded, somewhat silently.

”By the way, your father is sleeping now. Would you like to perform acupuncture?” Wu Yuekai asked.

”Sure.” Beisitian stood up. Having something to do could take her mind off Luo Xudong, lessen the worry, and miss him less.

Beisitian had performed acupuncture on Beidewang several times, working in combination with talismanic water. If it was going to be effective, it would likely be within the next one or two sessions, otherwise, she planned to try a different approach.

Even though Beidewang was in a deep sleep, Wu Yuekai was still uneasy. To provide a safe environment for Beisitian, he sought her approval before tying Beidewang’s hands and feet to the bed, releasing them after the acupuncture session.

Perhaps this seemed improper for Beidewang, but for Beisitian’s safety, Wu Yuekai had no choice.

Beidewang slept deeply, showing no reaction even when he was bound. His face was somewhat dark, lacking luster, and even when awake, his eyes were slightly cloudy, with no sparkle.

Beisitian gently turned his head and then picked up the silver needle.

Just after inserting the first needle, Beidewang’s eyelids suddenly twitched, and his chapped lips moved slightly.

”Forgive me... forgive me...” he muttered, shedding two tears from his tightly shut eyes.

Beisitian administered the second needle, thinking to herself, who was he asking for forgiveness from?
