I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 594: Chapter 593: Becoming Clear

After Tai Jinglin asked, the person chuckled and said, ”I don’t know what the main ingredient is either, but you can be sure it’s something exceptional. Boss Ma and Vice Director Zheng were quite humble when they spoke. Perhaps the herbal cuisine can’t cure diseases outright, but the medicine made from that main ingredient definitely can.”

Tai Jinglin raised his eyebrows. He had scarcely stayed in the country, and without the national policy support and his father’s last wish, he wouldn’t have intended to return for development.

So, despite having a different status now, he knew little about certain domestic matters, especially some ancient legends.

That person surely knew what the main ingredient was but refused to disclose it. Tai Jinglin didn’t press further and acted indifferent, while inside, Luo Xuhua was itching with curiosity.

After a short while, the two left. Luo Xuhua came out, looking at himself in the mirror, still utterly confused.

But he was certain of one thing: Beisitian was far more complex than he had imagined. What exactly made her so special!

Luo Xuhua knew that if he asked Beisitian, her intelligence would allow her a hundred ways to refuse without making him feel negative. So, he decided it was better to slowly uncover the matter himself.

He left the restroom and headed toward the banquet hall. Just as he reached the side entrance, he heard voices.

”Brother Du, it’s fortunate to have met Doctor Bei. Otherwise, with my credentials, it would be quite difficult to taste this level of talismanic water.”

”Brother Mei, you’re too modest. We’ve worked with Doctor Bei. If you sincerely ask, given Doctor Bei’s character, he certainly wouldn’t refuse,” said Du Kai Bo.

Mei Siyuan chuckled. Being invited by Doctor Bei to attend this promotional event indicated that he indeed left an impression on Beisitian, which had a lot to do with having worked with her.

Their voices were low, and Luo Xuhua happened to be just a corner away, overhearing their conversation like this.

Talismanic water?

Confusion crossed his eyes. He returned to his seat, acting nonchalant. The people in the banquet hall seemed to change for him, a shift in his perception since he knew a bit more now, altering his view of things around him.

The porridge dishes were also divided into two types, one savory and one sweet. You could drink both or choose one. The sweet herbal porridge was Snow Fungus Stewed with Fritillaria and Honey, which had the effects of nourishing the heart and lungs, clearing heat and detoxifying, resolving phlegm, and stopping cough.

The Vitality and Qi-boosting Porridge strengthens Qi, heals deficiencies, invigorates the spleen and stomach, and resists aging.

It’s late autumn now, and it can alleviate discomfort brought by seasonal change to a large extent.

Another one was Cordyceps Flower Lean Meat Porridge, replenishing deficiencies and benefiting energy essences.

Sticky Rice and Longan Porridge, nourishing the heart, calming the mind, invigorating the spleen, and enriching the blood.

All four porridges were intermediate medicine cuisine, and Ma Tianlai knew that those who diligently consumed these herbal dishes wouldn’t fall ill this winter.

Except for a few with dietary restrictions, most people chose to drink all four porridges. The portions were small, and the taste was quite pleasing, serving as a warm-up before the main meal.

There’s a good variety of porridge, soup, and stew, with at least four options for each. Many people exclaimed with satisfaction.

Though Tai Jinglin didn’t know the details, he realized that these so-called intermediate herbal dishes weren’t ordinary. He ate without leaving any behind while savoring them.

Luo Xuhua did the same, also instructing Shao Simin to finish it off, as the things could be discussed later. These items were expensive but beneficial to health, without a doubt.

”Everyone just enjoyed the Intermediate Medicine Cuisine of Heavenly Blessing. Next, please try the high-end product of Heavenly Blessing, advanced herbal cuisine!” the Host’s voice rang out.

Many people’s gazes shifted over and then landed on Beisitian at the main table. Some were aware of the source of the main ingredient for this advanced herbal cuisine.

The advanced herbal cuisine presented to everyone was soup and stew.

The soup was Bone Marrow Soup, primarily made from softshell turtle and pig spinal cord, boiled with ginger and other ingredients. Of course, Beisitian’s talismanic water was indispensable.

Its effects were nourishing the yin and kidneys and replenishing essence and marrow, very suitable for slightly older people. Other than Beisitian and a few others, everyone present was over forty years old. With years of toil and worry, their bodies had already started declining.

In addition, there was a Ginseng Lotus Seed Soup, mainly made from ginseng and lotus seeds, an excellent tonic for the spleen and stomach.

The portion of the soup was also small, essentially a bowl for each person. The taste was outstanding. Besides adjusting the body, Beisitian placed much emphasis on taste. She’s someone who enjoys life; if it’s about supplementing the body by drinking something unpleasant, she wouldn’t last long.

There were also two new stews, one being Danggui Lamb Soup made from lamb, danggui, codonopsis, Huang Qi, and ginger, an excellent product for replenishing qi and nourishing blood.

The other was Carp Soup, which excites the spleen and warms the stomach.

There weren’t many advanced herbal cuisines; only four were promoted. It’s not that Beisitian and others didn’t want to continue but eating too much might lead attendees to have nosebleeds.

Supplements need to be taken moderately; this was considered when drafting the menu. Later, there would be a drink to clear heat and dissipate fire for everyone.

At the first table, they were all old acquaintances and knew the advanced herbal cuisine was provided by Beisitian. At the scene, except for Wu Yuekai, who often enjoyed Beisitian’s health benefits, the others didn’t have such privileges and were very interested in the advancing herbal cuisines.

Du Kai Bo and Mei Siyuan feasted today, while Cheng ZhenGuo and his wife felt their efforts to secure the invitation were well worth it. Wei Yuanqing and Tian Heming drank and smiled broadly. To them, the taste came second; the ingredients were what mattered.

Zhou Biwu, despite his expressionless face, finished his bowl without leaving a drop. Ever since his health improved, Beisitian hadn’t looked after him anymore. Naturally, he didn’t dare ask for more as she had saved his life.

The second and third tables were occupied by the Wei and Tian families, who knew well the value of their meal. No one discussed it; they all drank earnestly.

These tables were nearly the indicator for the banquet’s direction. Especially those fond of speculations, seeing everyone’s attentiveness, made sure they tasted every kind.

After tasting the advanced herbal cuisine, everyone began raising their glasses and celebrating. Since it wasn’t an official formal banquet, familiar faces between tables could freely toast each other, pushing the event to a climax.

Ma Tianlai shuttled between the tables, talking and drinking with the executives. The atmosphere was very festive, yet the first table remained unvisited. Most knew they lacked the clout for a toast there, and being too bold might leave a bad impression, affecting many future collaborations.
