I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 574: Chapter 573: I Do Know Someone

Cheng ZhenGuo returned home, accompanied by three other people. Two of them were quite young, in their twenties, and the other was in his forties.

This man was short and tough-looking, with eyes that sparkled with keenness. Although small and thin, his aura was strong, comparable to that of Cheng ZhenGuo, overshadowing the two young men behind him.

Mrs. Cheng hurried out to greet them, glanced at her husband, and when she saw Cheng ZhenGuo give her a barely perceptible nod, she looked at the three people with a hopeful expression.

”Please come in!” Mrs. Cheng said with a beaming smile as she ushered them inside.

The leader, the man in his forties, held his head slightly high, his face appearing indifferent. Although not overt, there was an obvious haughtiness, mirrored by the two young men behind him, who also behaved arrogantly.

Only in front of Cheng ZhenGuo, their leader, did they restrain themselves a little; otherwise, they would have been even more arrogant.

After the three entered, the two young men sat to the side while the man in his forties boldly took the center seat on the sofa.

Mrs. Cheng didn’t mind in the least. It’s normal for capable people to have some temper; as long as they can cure her son, anything would do!

Cheng ZhenGuo smiled and said to the man in his forties, ”Mr. Fei, thank you for coming to see my son despite the long and tiring journey. We appreciate it.”

Fei Xueqin smiled, nodded, and said, ”It’s no problem, saving a life is urgent. We also want to see how the young master is doing.”

As he spoke, he took a sip of tea. The journey indeed had been exhausting, and if not for the high status of the other party, he would not have put himself through such inconvenience.

Fei Xueqin was so eager because he also had a favor to ask this leader. Given his authority and position, it should be a simple task for him.

Cheng ZhenGuo and Mrs. Cheng immediately felt more favorable towards Fei Xueqin. It was said that Mystic Doctors are extremely arrogant, and naturally, the one before them was no exception, but he was relatively better. They understood this was due to their own status.

After drinking two sips of water, Fei Xueqin was ready to go to the room and check on Cheng Tianji. Anorexia is not that hard to treat as long as the body’s nutrition is maintained.

However, doing so would be extremely costly, especially maintaining the patient’s bodily needs, which would basically be a lifetime matter, and the Cheng couple would have to seek his help for a lifetime.

Fei Xueqin considered himself not devoid of medical ethics. Even if the other party had to deal with him for life, he had no intention of making it difficult for them, but this time his request must be satisfied.

Fei Xueqin opened the door and came in, and Mrs. Cheng immediately instructed two maids to leave. She knew her son wasn’t asleep and gently called, ”Tianji!”

Cheng Tianji slowly opened his eyes, glanced at his parents, and his gaze fell on that little old man. To a child of about ten, Fei Xueqin, who was in his forties, with some white hair and a slight hunch, was indeed a little old man.

When Fei Xueqin saw Cheng Tianji, he couldn’t help but frown. This child practically had no face left, it was all sunken, and his eye sockets were deeply recessed. The two arms exposed outside the quilt were just two bones wrapped in skin.

Those fingers were no longer fingers; they were basically skeleton fingers!

Anorexia patients aren’t many, and such severe cases in such a short time are even rarer. Seeing this child like this, even though Fei Xueqin didn’t show disgust, he was unwilling to look much.

This state, especially when the eyes are open, is worse than death. The dead don’t move, but Cheng Tianji’s eyes flickered weakly, still thinking.

When Cheng Tianji noticed the little old man looking at him, he cautiously pulled his two arms back under the quilt. He felt a bit hot, so he stretched them out for a while, imagining that the two maids must have been scared, since he heard a low cry and light footsteps, evidently retreating in fear.

He didn’t want to scare anyone; he just felt a bit warm.

Seeing this child’s condition, Fei Xueqin knew he wasn’t just suffering from anorexia; he must have already developed some complications.

”Let me see your hand,” Fei Xueqin said.

Cheng Tianji understood that he intended to check his pulse because he had experienced it countless times. He extended his wrist slightly from beneath the quilt.

Fei Xueqin placed his fingers on Cheng Tianji’s pulse and gently closed his eyes. He soon frowned and turned to Mrs. Cheng, saying, ”Your son’s internal organs are severely failing. You didn’t mention such a situation when I came!”

If it were just anorexia, no matter how severe, he wouldn’t have any problems. But with severe organ failure like Cheng Tianji’s, it’s basically critically ill, with a very low chance of recovery.

The smile on Mrs. Cheng’s face became strained, and her heart suddenly grew heavy. Did it matter if they mentioned it or not? Why bring it up now on purpose?

”He was recovered once due to multiple organ failure before, but he is out of danger now,” Cheng ZhenGuo said.

Therefore, he found this exhaustion wasn’t as severe as anorexia, after all, they had pulled their son back from the brink of death.

Fei Xueqin shook his head. Coming from different fields really makes a difference. While Cheng ZhenGuo excels in politics, in medicine, he’s not even on par with an intern.

After assessing Cheng Tianji’s situation, Fei Xueqin left his bedroom, and Cheng ZhenGuo and Mrs. Cheng exchanged a glance and followed him out.

After they left, Mrs. Cheng immediately had two maids go back inside. Their son’s side could not be without people as he refused to stay in the hospital and needed someone at home 24/7.

When Mrs. Cheng shut the door, her mood was no longer as cheerful as before. No matter how deep her reserve, her composure was beginning to crack.

Yet, before the answer was fully revealed, she still held onto a glimmer of hope in her heart.

Fei Xueqin sat down again and said, ”I’m afraid your son’s condition isn’t very optimistic.”

Mrs. Cheng’s mind buzzed, and Cheng ZhenGuo’s smile dissipated as well.

”If it were just anorexia, I might still be able to treat it, but your son’s organs are severely failing. In such circumstances, comprehensive treatment is needed, progressing together, but as far as I know, no one has the capability to create such talismanic water...”

After Fei Xueqin finished speaking, he suddenly thought of something.

Beside him, Mrs. Cheng could no longer control her emotions, and she immediately started to weep softly.

Cheng ZhenGuo felt extremely heavy-hearted. Fei Xueqin was someone he had gone to great lengths to invite. If even he said there was no way, then there probably really wasn’t any. He was, after all, a Mystic Doctor!

”Wait, if there is still a glimmer of hope, I do know a person,” Fei Xueqin suddenly said.

”Please tell us!” Mrs. Cheng asked urgently.

”Wei Zhongyuan of the Wei Family!”
