I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 564: Chapter 563: Fifteen Thousand Each

Nian Fanghua’s words did make Ma Tianlai waver. Actually, it’s true; the reason he didn’t tell Nian Fanghua in the first place was because Beisitian didn’t want too many people to know. He was worried that if his wife knew, it would upset Beisitian and cause trouble.

Now his wife got along well with Beisitian. Women are easier to get along with, and in some matters, she indeed has more convenience than he does. If they could become close with Beisitian, it wouldn’t be a bad thing. So if Nian Fanghua knew Beisitian’s true abilities, she would better understand how to handle the situation.

”Do you know there’s a type of person called the Mystic Doctor?” Ma Tianlai looked at his wife and told her about the Mystic Doctor’s special status and powerful abilities in the country.

Nian Fanghua had long suspected that Beisitian was a very capable person. She knew Ma Tianlai well, trusted his judgment, but didn’t expect Beisitian’s true abilities to far exceed her imagination.

Nian Fanghua was grateful for her mother’s early education to never underestimate anyone. Before fully understanding a person, she wouldn’t jump to conclusions.

Fortunately, she adhered to some of her principles, and didn’t belittle Beisitian due to her hasty assumptions.

”I always thought you were very polite to Doctor Bei, so I treated her politely too. She even cured our son, so she must be capable. Plus, with Old General Wu backing her, she’s not a simple character. It’s more complicated than I thought,” Nian Fanghua said.

Beisitian relies not on Old General Wu or anyone else, but on herself!

Nian Fanghua realized this not too late, at least in regard to Mrs. Cheng, she decisively considered the situation from Beisitian’s perspective, fully aligning herself with Beisitian’s camp.

Ma Tianlai always admired Nian Fanghua’s intelligence. Marrying a wife means finding someone one likes, but also someone smart, and not someone foolish who would always cause trouble in the family.

His wife had been a great help in many matters, which also benefited their relationship greatly, unlike those who would exploit family members and let men clean up their messes.

”No matter how big the official is, we’re on Doctor Bei’s side, remember this!” Ma Tianlai cautioned.

Even if they’re a high-ranking official, they’re still just an official. The influence is significant, but limited. Beisitian, on the other hand, is different. She can meet many top officials, and in the future, many might seek her help, making her influence far from simple!

Ma Tianlai saw this clearly, so he told Nian Fanghua to firmly support Beisitian, as Beisitian also needed their support.

Today, Luo Xuping wasn’t going to school. He didn’t play wildly with Zhuangzhuang at home, nor did he go out to explore the alleys. Instead, he stayed home reading and studying first-grade courses.

Seeing Luo Xuping reading so quietly and sensibly filled people with both solace and heartache.

But this was temporary; once Luo Xuping caught up with the current study pace, he could relax a bit. After all, elementary students didn’t have that much coursework.

Luo Xuping was a bit nervous about going to the tutor’s house the next day. He felt somewhat inferior after arriving in Beijing because teachers, classmates, adults, and even neighbors looked down on him, which hurt his young heart.

Only recently, did Beisitian give him confidence. He realized that true confidence comes from having abilities, just like Brother and Sister!

Since he heard there would be a placement test at the tutor’s place, Luo Xuping prepared in his room, striving not to perform poorly when the time came.

Meanwhile, Nian Fanghua came home.

”Doctor Bei, your medicine worked!” Nian Fanghua said happily.

Wei Zhongxun was reading a note from Beisitian, which contained medical experiences she had summarized. Hearing this, he glanced at Nian Fanghua.

Beisitian nodded. With the essence of more than eighty precious Chinese herbal medicines as an aid, the effect of this talismanic water was without question. It was her first time making such a complex talismanic water in this world, which consumed a lot of her spirit.

Beisitian made the talisman with great care; this time, the Xuan Talisman not only worked exceptionally well, but it could also continuously replenish body energy, another valuable aspect of this Xuan Talisman.

So she said, this talismanic water was not cheap, and it really wasn’t!

”Doctor Bei, Mrs. Cheng said she would like to visit you and see when you’re available,” Nian Fanghua said with a smile.

”I have no time tomorrow; she can come today. By then, the medicine’s effect should have subsided,” replied Beisitian.

Nian Fanghua nodded, ”Mrs. Cheng wanted to come today as well but felt it might be a bit presumptuous, so she asked me to check in advance. I’ll go inform her.”

Nian Fanghua initially thought of going in person, but finding it troublesome and time-consuming for both sides, she made a call instead.

Mrs. Cheng was very pleased to receive the call and arrived at Beisitian’s small courtyard after a quick grooming.

This was her first time visiting Beisitian as a guest, so she brought small gifts. They weren’t expensive but were thoughtfully chosen.

”Doctor Bei, your medicine was really effective, more than I ever imagined—it was like this!” Mrs. Cheng said with a broad smile.

Her son, Cheng Tianji, had drunk Beisitian’s medicine. She had harbored a bit of hope since Dean Du hadn’t inspected it—just by looking at the small porcelain bottle, he assured them it was safe to drink, clearly confident of the medicine.

That evening after Cheng Tianji drank it, he was able to rest while leaning against the bed. Previously, he’d lie pretending to sleep due to feeling unwell and too weak to get up.

Seeing this, Mrs. Cheng felt overjoyed, finally believing her son was going to recover. The next day, she saw him slowly getting out of bed. Although he wobbled, he had strength and could walk too!

Knowing the medicine was effective, Mrs. Cheng immediately sent people to investigate it, this medicine in a small porcelain bottle with the word ’Bei’ at the bottom.

But after inquiries, she found out nothing specific. However, she learned that this Doctor Beisitian had some relation with the Tian Family, a traditional Chinese medicine family. With such a family background, Mrs. Cheng felt more reassured.

Although she didn’t find out the origins of the small porcelain bottle or the medicine, knowing its effect was enough. She promptly contacted Nian Fanghua, hoping to visit Beisitian soon and buy more medicine. Preferably, she could purchase ten or eight bottles at once to avoid frequent trips.

”Doctor Bei, this medicine is highly effective; I would like to buy more. How much is it?” Mrs. Cheng asked with a smile.

She planned to buy it regardless of the price.

Beisitian put down her cup, looked up, and said, ”Fifteen thousand per bottle.”
