I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 558: Chapter 557: Patient Guidance

The two children cried and apologized, and their parents left with grim faces. Beisitian and Xu Yongguang said goodbye and also left with Luo Xuping.

Xu Yongguang was just playing peacemaker here, and that’s all he could do. Beisitian didn’t really mind. She never intended to get compensation from these two families, nor was compensation necessary. Overall, Luo Xuping didn’t lose out.

Seeing the look on the other party’s face, Beisitian was satisfied.

Li Yunfeng looked like he wanted to give two thumbs up with his big toes. His sister-in-law was really something; her words were sharp, each one worth three of someone else’s, and made it hard for the other side to argue back.

No, actually it should be said that every word she said was either digging a pit for the other side or laying the groundwork for the words that followed.

”I finally understand what you mean!” Li Yunfeng exclaimed.

Chen Jinliang showed a proud expression, ”When have I ever lied to you, Brother? What you saw was just her polishing her words. You haven’t even seen her real skills yet!”

Even getting custom dresses paid for by others is not something that can be achieved just by talking.

”Sergeant, how come we never meet girls like this!” Li Yunfeng chuckled, starting to chatter away.

Chen Jinliang sneered, ”What could you do if you met one? If you want a woman like this as your wife, first of all, you need to have a high IQ, like the deputy corps commander. There’s another term for it... emotional intelligence. That needs to be high too, otherwise you can’t keep her happy!”

Li Yunfeng was just saying it for the sake of saying it. Such a woman should be admired, but if she became a wife, he always felt he’d be a bit inferior.

The students stayed at school for classes, and before leaving, Beisitian said to Luo Xuping, ”If someone insults you again, just hit them.”

Mrs. Qin’s mouth twitched.

Luo Xuping nodded vigorously, then returned to the classroom to attend classes.

Beisitian and Mrs. Qin left the school gate and saw Zhao Youcai’s mother standing at the door. When she came out, she gave her a cold glance, her expression somewhat sinister.

Watching her walk away, Mrs. Qin’s face looked a little uncomfortable. She grabbed Beisitian’s arm and said, ”Little Tian’er, seeing the way that woman is, she might come looking for trouble with us. You have to be careful!”

Others might be fine, at worst getting beaten, but Beisitian absolutely must not get hurt.

”Don’t worry, Mom.” Beisitian smiled.

She could tell Zhao Youcai’s mother wasn’t easy to deal with. Wu Biao seemed formidable but was actually a paper tiger. If it came to a real fight, he might not dare act; mostly he was bluffing. But this woman was different, quite sinister.

Moreover, from her words, you could tell her family probably knew some people, which made her feel quite bold.

Of course, Beisitian couldn’t be unprepared, but the chance of that woman making a direct move was lower. More likely, she’d go home and find someone to prepare to deal with them.

This was also good. If the problem escalated to the level of adults, it would be easier to solve. If it was just kids fighting, there wasn’t much more she could do.

In the evening, after school, Luo Xuping went to Beisitian’s small courtyard.

”Have you thought about what happened today?” Beisitian asked.

Luo Xuping nodded. Beisitian indeed made the other party unable to voice their grievances. Their child had been hit, yet they still had to apologize.

However, he had many thoughts in his mind but didn’t know how to achieve the same effect.

”Are you thinking about how to act in the future?”

Luo Xuping nodded. He hoped to be like his brother and sister, not only living well but also protecting those around him.

”To refute, you need to be reasonable and based on evidence. Target the opponent’s words and find their weaknesses. Doing this will at least not let yourself suffer much.” Beisitian said.

Luo Xuping nodded, then puzzledly asked, ”How can I achieve this?”

Seeing him asking to the point, Beisitian smiled and said, ”Expand your knowledge base, study well. Some knowledge may seem unnecessary now, but once learned, you’ll use it unknowingly.”

Luo Xuping thought for a moment and understood what Beisitian meant. It was indeed like that. Beisitian’s rebuttal to those two parents was built on a certain level of understanding. Without this knowledge, her words wouldn’t be so sharp and couldn’t intimidate them, reversing the situation!

Once Luo Xuping figured this out, he suddenly had a desire to study hard. The more he knew, the more he would understand. When he stood higher than others, he would see scenes others couldn’t, different perspectives and thoughts, naturally making many things easier to solve.

”Knowledge means the direction you’re heading. If you want to protect your family, knowledge is the foundation, and ability is the support. More importantly, it’s your influence that counts. The strength I’m talking about isn’t brute force but your influence. Memorize these words, and someday you’ll understand it.” Beisitian said.

Luo Xuping listened attentively to her, truly taking these words to heart, laying a solid foundation for his future success in politics.

Even though Luo Xuping was two years older than his peers, he struggled with his studies, listening diligently, spending less time playing outside and more time reading.

His class teacher, Yuan Ping, had already arranged a tutor for him. On Saturdays and Sundays, he would spend two hours each in the morning and afternoon studying at the teacher’s house, though the fees were relatively high, charged per session.

Beisitian had no objections to this; the money just had to be spent.

Once the tutoring was arranged, Beisitian finally sighed in relief. This weekend, she planned to take Luo Xuping to the tutor’s house for lessons, which were currently in Chinese and Math.

This afternoon, while Beisitian was leisurely basking in the sun in the courtyard, Nian Fanghua arrived.

Ma Tianlai had been busy with the opening of his business and hadn’t been able to pay attention to what Nian Fanghua had been up to recently, just knowing she was busy.

”Doctor Bei, I’m here today because I wanted to talk to you about something.” Nian Fanghua said, sitting on the sofa.

”Please go ahead.” Beisitian said with a gentle smile.

”Do you remember the Madam Yun we met at the Shenghua Group’s banquet last time?”

Beisitian paused, then recalled who she was, and at the same time remembered the child suffering from anorexia.

”When I first arrived on the mainland, I met the child’s mother a couple of times through introductions by other ladies, so when I heard Madam Yun talking about them, it always felt familiar.” Nian Fanghua smiled.

There’s no such thing as a secret here; no matter how much the family wanted to keep it under wraps, once someone knew, word spread quickly, everytime cautioning not to tell others.

”I noticed that you seemed very concerned about that child. I’ve been inquiring about them lately, and it turns out the child almost didn’t make it due to multiple organ failure during that time.”
