I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 587: Chapter 586: The Last Guests to Arrive

The executives of various enterprises arrive relatively early. At this kind of banquet, especially a Chinese-style dinner, arriving early gives them a chance to exchange a few words with others. Once it begins, however, they can only converse with those seated at their table.

The executives are quite accustomed to Western-style buffet banquets, where they can chat business while eating. Nonetheless, they dare not underestimate Chinese-style banquets, as many influential figures are expected today, including several from the military and political arenas.

Due to their professional backgrounds, attending a Chinese banquet is most appropriate for these individuals, as they represent the nation. When they host banquets, they largely choose Chinese-style ones; it would be ridiculous to uphold high national authority while adopting Western banquet styles.

While the executives are exchanging remarks among themselves, they keep a keen eye on Ma Tianlai’s movements, intermittently checking the entrance to size up who are the true influential figures, whether recognized by the hosts or genuinely powerful.

This is crucial as it will determine their attitude and strategy towards Heavenly Blessing in the future.

Ma Tianlai circulates among the executives, conversing the most with those from state-owned enterprises, as well as more talk with executives of companies poised for collaboration; this is his usual strategy. Time is precious and must not be squandered.

Though Ma Tianlai is chatting with those around, he keeps an eye on the entrance, as there are several individuals he needs to greet personally.

Before long, a man in a crisp suit appears at the entrance. Ma Tianlai has memorized the faces of the guests; this man is named Zheng Qiwai, the Vice Director of the Capital Medical Research Institute, and the ambassador for this occasion!

Finally, he’s here!

Though the guest holds no official power, Ma Tianlai goes to greet him personally, as the man will be one of the primary figures later.

All executive eyes follow Ma Tianlai toward the entrance. Upon seeing the young man, they pause, as he looks familiar albeit not very memorable. Given that Boss Ma has gone to greet him, he must be important.

”Vice Director Zheng, welcome!” Ma Tianlai smiled as he shook hands with him.

Zheng Qiwai smiles and shakes hands with Ma Tianlai, both then proceed inside.

Upon hearing this title, quite a few recall who he is—this is the young man who climbed to the Vice Director position at the Capital Medical Research Institute!

His identity is renowned in this profession, but for the corporate executives, it means little to them, as there are no apparent benefits.

”Where is Doctor Bei?” Zheng Qiwai inquired.

”In the lounge, Doctor Bei is not feeling well.”

Ma Tianlai’s tone and demeanor clearly show he is on Beisitian’s side, a fact Zheng Qiwai picks up on.

”Understood, carry on with your business, please don’t mind me, I’ll just chat with a few acquaintances.” Zheng Qiwai, noticing people at the entrance, replied quickly.

”If you need anything, feel free to come to me. Excuse me,” Ma Tianlai exchanges polite words and heads toward the entrance.

The crowd’s gaze follows him again, though they continue to chat and jest amongst themselves. The banquet is about to start; those arriving at this time must be big shots.

Two elderly men in military uniforms enter, instantly drawing attention. Observing the insignia on their shoulders reveals one as a Senior Colonel and the other a Major General!

Generals have arrived!

The attendees’ interest in the proprietors behind Heavenly Blessing intensifies, as they’ve managed to invite such high-ranking individuals!

Some of the state-owned enterprise leaders recognize these men and approach with beaming smiles.

”Dean Du, Dean Mei, it’s been a long time, I never expected you’d come together,” a delighted state-owned enterprise executive exclaims.

Many recognize this executive, aware that he holds a bureau-level rank.

Besides state-owned enterprise leaders, several other company executives identify them as the deans of the 300 Military District Hospital and the Air Force Hospital!

Recalling that Heavenly Blessing promotes medicinal cuisine, it becomes understandable why these two were invited.

The attendees gain a fresh perspective on Heavenly Blessing; the 300 Military District Hospital is a military-level hospital, the Air Force Hospital a division-level unit. Their participation indicates the approval of Heavenly Blessing’s medicinal cuisine, not to mention the earlier arrival of a vice director from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute.

The two deans are ushered in but barely have time to speak before more guests arrive at the entrance. Leading the group is an elderly man dressed in a Zhongshan suit, followed by several others in their fifties who appear to belong to the same family.

Closely behind them is another elderly man wearing a vintage silk outfit, deep blue with black patterns, featuring snow-white hair. Despite facial wrinkles, he exudes vitality.

”Elder Wei and Mr. Tian have arrived, please come in; your seating arrangements are ready,” Ma Tianlai said with a grin.

Wei Yuanqing and Tian Heming have arrived; many recognize Tian Heming, knowing the Tian Family’s history in recruitment-related activities. Numerous individuals prefer seeking the Tian Family for health restoration, their medicinal cuisine is cherished, naturally they are well-informed about the Tian Family.

The Wei Family, however, remains less known, with attendees focusing their attention on the two elderly men, eager to learn more about the Wei Family and its apparent superiority over the Tian Family.

”Old Master,”

As the crowd speculates, two handsome youths approach, standing behind Wei Yuanqing, who brightens upon seeing them.

Though many haven’t met Wei Yuanqing personally, Wei Zhongyuan is widely recognized among those present. Among these individuals, boasting to Peng Baocheng’s Liu Fugui stands surprised to see Wei Zhongyuan.

The elder turns out to be a senior figure in Wei Zhongyuan’s clan!

Liu Fugui doesn’t know the intricacies of Wei Zhongyuan’s background but aware of his reputation— hard to invite, requiring networking even beyond monetary exchanges for strong connections.

Wei Yuanqing and Tian Heming enter, spurring dynamics as the appearance of Wei Zhongyuan animates many executives; his tales abound within these circles.

Shao Simin’s eyes gleam seeing the Tian Family arrive, she lightly tugs Luo Xuhua, whispering, ”That’s the Tian Family. If we seize this chance to collaborate with them, our medicinal cuisine could flourish.”

She schemes to secure a portion from Beisitian!

Luo Xuhua disregards her, his focus drifting among the Wei Family people. Having dined once at the Tian Family, his attention is now piqued, coupled with hearing tales from numerous executives about the Wei Family and Wei Zhongyuan.

Rumor has it of an extraordinary physician— remarkable, yet elusive.
