I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 572: Chapter 571: The Response Triggered by the Advertisement

After leaving the Wei Family, Beisitian went directly to the Tian Family.

Once the issue with General Zhou was resolved, Tian Heming returned to his pastoral retirement life, spending his days looking at the flowers he planted, drinking a little wine, and teasing his grandson, living quite comfortably.

When Beisitian arrived, Tian Heming was fiddling with flowers and plants in the backyard. Seeing her, he smiled, took off his gloves, and invited her into the living room.

”As your belly gets bigger, you should stop running around.” Dong Fengzhen brought up some fruit, glanced at her belly, and said with a smile.

Dong Fengzhen often went to the small courtyard to deliver medicinal cuisine to Beisitian and occasionally taught Mrs. Qin.

”It’s still better to move around a bit; it’s also good for health.” Beisitian smiled and patted her belly.

Tian Heming knew Beisitian had a purpose for coming and asked, ”Is there something on your mind?”

”Grandpa, I have partnered with someone to open a medicinal cuisine company. We’ve entered the promotion stage and plan to hold a promotional event. I’ve come to deliver an invitation to you and grandma.” Beisitian said.

Upon hearing this, Tian Heming understood her intentions. Delivering the invitation was incidental; the primary purpose was to inform them.

After all, one of the main businesses of the Tian Family is medicinal cuisine. By doing this, Beisitian was essentially competing with them.

However, Tian Heming understood well that Beisitian relied on her own abilities, and no one, including the Tian Family, could dictate what business she pursued.

The fact that Beisitian personally came to inform them showed she still cared about the Tian Family and her grandparents.

”Even if you didn’t invite us, we would still attend.” Tian Heming laughed.

After chatting with the elder Tian couple for a while, Beisitian went back. Upon returning to the small courtyard, Mrs. Qin was pulling Gao Ma excitedly in front of the TV, commenting. Seeing Beisitian return, she hurriedly pulled her over.

”Little Tian’er, look, look! The advertisement for Heavenly Blessing!” Mrs. Qin’s face was all smiles.

Following Mrs. Qin’s direction, Beisitian looked over and saw an octagonal vintage gift box being shown on TV. Inside were six porcelain pot-shaped containers with exquisite packaging and decent special effects. The large characters ’Heavenly Blessing’ were presented with a sweet female voice introducing it, making the ad very simple.

What attracted attention was the price list. The promotional gift box was for intermediate medicine cuisine. The box usually contained four to eight pots; the price varied according to the efficacy and dosage.

”Oh my gosh!”

Gao Ma suddenly clutched her heart, staring at the price list on the TV against a pink background. The list showed all intermediate medicine cuisine, selecting a few representative current products.

The drinks category included pear juice for nourishing the yin and moistening the lungs, and ginger syrup drink for cold-induced colds.

The soups category included scallion and jujube soup for treating neurasthenia and post-illness weakness, and rehmannia frog soup for treating kidney deficiency, back pain, and bone weakness.

The gruel category included mutton gruel for replenishing kidney qi, dispelling cold, and stopping pain, and assorted deer antler gruel for boosting primal yang and strengthening muscles and bones.

The wines category selected two types: tiger bone wine for treating rheumatism and deer antler wine for tonifying the kidney and strengthening yang.

Tiger bone wine was prepared for the old man, but the listed price was for intermediate medicine cuisine, and what the old man used was naturally of her own talismanic water.

Additionally, two porridge-type medicine cuisines were listed, both addressing common ailments.

The reason the ad was made so simple was to highlight this price list, which detailed the categories, effects, and finally the price.

The reason Gao Ma clutched her heart and exclaimed was because of the reaction to those prices. From top to bottom, even the relatively cheaper drinks were priced above 280, and the slightly more expensive ones shot up to 400!

That’s hardly affordable for ordinary families!

Buying a box of this medicinal cuisine would essentially mean losing two and a half months of salary. For Gao Ma’s salary, that would indeed be two and a half months, and this was assuming Beisitian paid generously. For some salaried employees, who earned around a hundred a month, buying one would mean going without food for several months, just waiting with an open mouth for the western wind to blow.

Mrs. Qin couldn’t stop smiling. Didn’t she say that when Beisitian wanted to make money, she’d surely make money!

Gao Ma wasn’t as optimistic as Mrs. Qin. With prices set so high, would anyone buy it? This advertisement seemed poorly done; upon seeing these prices, most would likely back away. Who would dare to buy it!

If it doesn’t lose money, what else would it do!

The moment the Heavenly Blessing ad was broadcast, it sparked a big reaction, with more people criticizing it than praising it. Many people said the company had lost its mind. Who would buy such expensive stuff, and why highlight the price list? Even if you want to show your product is high-end, there’s no need to be so foolish!

Amid the criticism, Ma Tianlai smiled brightly as the ad premiered during prime time, and the effect was quite intense. It had cost him a lot of money!

Apart from TV ads, there were also radio broadcasts and street ads. The promotion was very extensive. Over ten days, Ma Tianlai guaranteed to reach seventy percent of the population.

Unless someone doesn’t watch TV, doesn’t listen to the radio, or doesn’t go out, they would mostly see it.

Ma Tianlai’s financial resources were also limited. He spent five times what others would on advertising, all concentrated within these ten plus days to lay the groundwork for the promotional event.

As long as the promotional event was successfully held and the attendee list ’accidentally’ circulated in the upper circles, it would surely trigger a reaction from some people.

Though this group is small, the sales driven by brand effect could be quite considerable. With some time, Heavenly Blessing could become a big brand and then advance towards becoming a luxury brand.

Ma Tianlai, who had been in business for decades, had keenly sensed a significant business opportunity with his wealth of experience. His methods were adept and sophisticated. In the future, Heavenly Blessing might rival some established industries.

While Beisitian and Ma Tianlai were watching the ad, other people were also watching it. Teacher Qiu and her family were watching TV at the dinner table, and when the Heavenly Blessing ad appeared, the couple exchanged a glance.

”No wonder it wasn’t seen on the market; it hasn’t entered the sales stage yet.” Teacher Qiu muttered to herself.

Her husband looked puzzled, ”Since it’s not yet on sale, how did the parent of your student get hold of it?”

”Surely someone from their family works there.” Teacher Qiu said indifferently, almost certain of this possibility.

Watching together, they thought the ad was overly simple, with no celebrity endorsements, only a sweet female voice introducing it. However, the TV gift box was very pretty!

”I really like this box; it’s made of solid wood and looks very upscale.” Teacher Qiu laughed.

She used ’looks upscale’ instead of ’upscale’, reflecting a significant difference. She didn’t genuinely consider the gift box as a high-end product.

Watching the TV while taking a bite of rice, Teacher Qiu saw a finely crafted price list against a beautiful pink background on the screen, but no one paid attention at the moment.

When Teacher Qiu saw the price list, the mouthful of rice she had just taken in burst out!
