I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 250: Chapter 249: Infection

Today is the last day to deliver medicine to Yu Shufang. Seeing the dark circles under Yu Shufang’s eyes, she shook her head and handed a packet of medicine powder to Ren Hongliang.

”Dissolve this in a cup of clear water for Doctor Yu to drink. It will help ease her irritability.” Beisitian said.

Normally, she wouldn’t use talisman powder for such situations, but the rapid shrinkage of the tumor made the symptoms particularly obvious, so she used the talisman powder.

It’s more reliable to resolve this with dietary therapy, but she doesn’t have the time to cook for others.

Drinking talismanic water only provides temporary relief. Beisitian gave Ren Hongliang a prescription for Chinese medicine, which, if brewed and drunk daily, would gradually alleviate the symptoms.

The duration of symptoms varies for everyone; some people experience menopausal symptoms two or three years after menopause, while others can end it in less than two years.

It all depends on individual constitution.

Yu Shufang sometimes felt severe palpitations and shortness of breath, furrowing her brows all day long, occasionally taking it out on her son who visited specially, and regretting it afterward, even shedding tears. All in all, this past week was quite distressing.

”Drinking this medicine daily will be greatly beneficial for relieving symptoms. Once the tumor is fully shrunk, these symptoms will significantly lessen, but when menopause will truly end still depends on your constitution.” Beisitian said.

Yu Shufang nodded. After drinking a cup of clear water earlier, she immediately felt a coolness in her heart, less irritable, and her breathing much easier.

”Doctor Xiao Bei, your medicine really works wonders!” Yu Shufang looked up with earnestness.

”These symptoms are not suitable for frequent use of my medicine. I’ve already written a prescription. Have your son get the herbs and brew them; drinking daily will relieve your symptoms and be beneficial to your health.” Beisitian said.

Yu Shufang was now quite convinced by Beisitian. Regardless of whether the tumor had fully shrunk, her lower abdomen hadn’t hurt since the second day after starting the medication.

Tomorrow she’ll go to the hospital for a check-up. If the tumor is lifeless, it will mean she’s fine!

After giving the medicine to Yu Shufang, Beisitian went to work at the health team.

Upon arriving at the office, she heard some people sitting there brewing tea and chatting, some discussing cases, others just chatting.

”It’s been over a week since anyone saw Director Sun. Where did he go?” Zhang Meili asked Shen Junping.

Shen Junping replied, ”They say he went to the Capital City for a consultation, but the details weren’t mentioned.”

Sun Wangnian left in a hurry. Shen Junping knew he left after a phone call and it was on the same day, even with a plane to pick him up. It must be some leader in Capital City fell ill.

However, although Sun Wangnian is experienced, it was the first time he was specially called to a consultation.

Tian Lei coughed a few times and asked, ”Brother Shen, I’ve heard we have an operating room here, what kinds of surgeries can we do?”

”We can handle some minor surgeries.” Shen Junping listed a few in general.

Last time for Commander Liu, he performed a hemorrhoidectomy. Due to the surgery’s content and nature, a soldier almost caused trouble for him later.

But he couldn’t just leave halfway through after administering anesthesia and cutting, to stop Commander Liu’s bleeding.

Once a surgery starts, it must be completed; there’s no such thing as pausing midway!

”Tian Lei, when did you start coughing?” Beisitian looked at Tian Lei and said.

”Just these last couple of days, it’s nothing. I caught a cold at night because I didn’t cover myself.” Tian Lei chuckled, appreciating Beisitian’s concern.

Beisitian kept watching him closely and then said to Shen Junping, ”Doctor Shen, let’s do a blood test for him.”

Shen Junping was slightly taken aback and then looked at Tian Lei, but he couldn’t discern anything from his face.

”What’s the matter?” Shen Junping asked.

”He might have been infected.” Beisitian said.

Infection, and with a cough, could it be...

”You mean?” Shen Junping was startled.

Tian Lei was speechless, wouldn’t that be something!

But thinking carefully, that guy indeed coughed towards him that day!

Shen Junping immediately took Tian Lei for a blood test and a sputum smear examination, and the result was indeed positive!

Tian Lei couldn’t smile anymore; he never expected that just a week into his job, he would be infected with tuberculosis!

Shen Junping frowned, ”It was my oversight. Since we found out Zhou Aihua had tuberculosis, we should have disinfected and ventilated ahead of time!”

He was bewildered by Beisitian’s uncanny ability to read faces and completely forgot about this!

Beisitian also smiled wryly, she had forgotten about it too.

Tian Lei wasn’t feeling well. No one would be happy to get such a disease, especially when people around him avoided him as if he were the plague, making him feel even more depressed.

But Shen Junping and Beisitian did not avoid him!

Even Qi Xiu Hui did not intentionally avoid him, no one in the clinic was cold-hearted, which was the only comfort.

Shen Junping said, ”Tian Lei, I’m sorry, but we’ll have to isolate you temporarily. I’ll contact a big hospital as soon as possible to arrange for transfer procedures for you.”

Tian Lei said nothing, turning to Beisitian, asking, ”If I can find Dendrobium, can you cure me?”

”Yes.” Beisitian nodded.

Tian Lei laughed and said to Shen Junping, ”Brother Shen, don’t trouble yourself; let Xiao Bei treat me. I can find Dendrobium stone twists.”

Stone twists are processed Dendrobium, spirally shaped.

Shen Junping glanced at Beisitian and nodded, ”Alright, if that’s the case, then you reach out as soon as possible.”

Beisitian naturally wouldn’t refuse, with dendrobium, treating tuberculosis is quite easy.

She also gave Tian Lei some other medicinal materials, since he could find Dendrobium, those shouldn’t be a problem either, and he might as well bring them along.

However, she became more curious about Tian Lei; Dendrobium is very expensive, and it’s said that artificial cultivation is very challenging now and rare. Tian Lei mentioned it so casually, does his family have resources in that area?

This matter belongs to someone’s family affairs, and it’s not appropriate for Beisitian to ask too much.

”Xiao Bei, is there anything else to explain?” Tian Lei smiled. He did feel depressed for a while before, but now he seemed to have come to terms with it. After all, it’s not incurable.

Beisitian thought for a moment and said, ”I charge fees for treating illnesses.”

Tian Lei was taken aback, then laughed heartily, ”Considering we’re colleagues, do I get a discount?”

”No.” Beisitian said with a straight face. To recover one’s mood this quickly, this person is really thick-skinned.

Tian Lei watched Beisitian turn away, a smile on his face and eyes, with no trace of the earlier dejection and gloom.

If grandma knew it was she who saved him, what would she think, would she be very emotional?

She would probably be, it’s a small world after all, even across the vast distances, they managed to meet!
