I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 244: Chapter 243: It Doesn’t Hurt Anymore

No need to remove the uterus?

Yu Shufang heard this sentence, opened her eyes, and looked at Beisitian, ”What did you say?”

Beisitian knew she was in a state of panic, so she repeated it again.

When she heard there was no need to remove the uterus, a bit of life returned to Yu Shufang’s eyes, ”Really no need?”

Beisitian nodded, ”Removing the uterus is the safest method. If you don’t want to remove it, then we must try to shrink the tumor.”

Shrink the tumor?

Ma Xiuli and Shen Junping exchanged a glance.

Yu Shufang listened in a daze. Having suffered from gynecological issues for several years, she had undergone numerous surgeries and knew a bit about it. However, how to shrink the tumor was beyond her knowledge.

”To let the tumor in the uterus naturally shrink, you might have to induce early menopause. Without the effect of sex hormones, the tumor will shrink quickly.”

The tumor in the uterus relies on sex hormones to thrive. Reducing the secretion of these hormones can indeed promote tumor shrinkage, but a woman’s vitality and youth also rely on these hormones to maintain.

In other words, inducing early menopause in Yu Shufang could promote tumor shrinkage, but it would also accelerate her aging process.

That’s why many people are unwilling to undergo early menopause and take various medications to delay it.

Beisitian explained everything to Yu Shufang. If she accepted, she should drink the talismanic water on the table. If not, Beisitian had no better solution.

”Can this really work?” Yu Shufang struggled to prop herself up and asked eagerly.

”It can, but you need to think it through. You are a doctor, no matter which field you specialize in, you should understand what accelerated aging means!” Beisitian reminded her again.

Upon hearing this, Yu Shufang started to cry, ”This surgery not only requires removing the uterus but also the ovaries!”

Beisitian was momentarily stunned and immediately understood what she meant.

Sex hormones are secreted by the ovaries. Removing only the uterus won’t affect that part of life and won’t accelerate aging. However, if you remove the ovaries, it’s like menopause, if not worse.

So...

”Please help me, I don’t want to remove my uterus!” Yu Shufang cried.

She was already around forty years old. Although losing the uterus might not affect much, she just didn’t want to. After all, without ovaries, aging would accelerate anyway, so keeping the uterus would naturally be better!

Beisitian knowingly nodded, ”Then drink this medicine.” She handed over the talismanic water from the table.

If you drink this talismanic water continuously for a week, you can completely go into menopause.

Medicine?

Ma Xiuli and Shen Junping looked at the cup of clear water with surprise. If not for the current setting, they might have thought Beisitian was a fraud; whose Chinese medicine looked like this?

Although Yu Shufang found it strange, with this matter weighing on her mind, she didn’t have the mood to think about other things. She glanced at Ma Xiuli and then drank it down.

”What does it taste like?” Ma Xiuli tilted her head and asked with a dumbfounded look.

Beisitian: ”...” She looked speechlessly at Ma Xiuli. Seeing her curious look, she wanted to palm her forehead. You never know something until you encounter it, and once you do, you realize so-called greatness is just a character trait.

”No taste.” Yu Shufang answered honestly.

If Beisitian hadn’t said it was medicine, she would surely have thought it was a cup of clear water.

Ma Xiuli looked at the empty cup in Yu Shufang’s hand and paused momentarily, asking, ”Little Chi... Doctor Bei, did you put all the Chinese medicine in earlier?”

”No, just some.” Beisitian glanced at her.

”But why is there no color?” Ma Xiuli transformed into a curious child.

Beisitian kept silent, this sister was a bit annoying.

Shen Junping, being older and more composed, was also very curious, but since Beisitian clearly didn’t want to say, he naturally wouldn’t ask further.

”For this week, you should stay in bed and rest. I will bring you medicine every day.” Beisitian said.

This talisman powder should still be kept by her. Handing it over to a group of doctors with a laboratory didn’t seem safe at all.

It wasn’t that she feared they would analyze the talisman powder’s components but worried they wouldn’t be able to. She didn’t want too much attention; it’s certain the talismanic water works, and if they went out of their way to analyze it yet found no answers, they’d be filled with intense curiosity then.

If that happens, her peaceful days would be over.

So this medicine would be treated as a family tradition, staying by her side as the safest option.

After drinking the talismanic water, Yu Shufang suddenly felt a warm sensation in her lower abdomen. This warmth was soothing and not irritating, flowing through her abdomen with great comfort, greatly alleviating her pain — even better than painkillers.

”It doesn’t hurt so much... It’s so comfortable~” Yu Shufang gently caressed her abdomen, and tears rolled down again. How many years had she suffered from such pain, for how many years? Now that dull, heavy feeling had completely vanished.

Ma Xiuli was about to ask if it really didn’t hurt anymore but saw the expression on Yu Shufang’s face, stunned. Her expression wasn’t feigned at all and didn’t need to be.

A cup of clear water, and it didn’t hurt anymore?

Was there a painkiller dissolved in it?

Ma Xiuli immediately dismissed that idea. Even if painkillers were dissolved, it wouldn’t stop the pain like this and bring about such tears of joy.

”It will still hurt tonight, but it won’t be as severe. Don’t take any more painkillers. I’ll come and deliver medicine first thing in the morning.” Beisitian stated.

Enjoying the comfort from her abdomen, Yu Shufang would surely listen to Beisitian now. She nodded and looked at Beisitian with a changed gaze.

”Thank you, Doctor Xiao Bei!”

This thank you was filled with sincerity and apology.

She felt sorry for her previous attitude, knowing Beisitian kindly reminded her, but because of her own fears, she was driven to act out. At forty years old, she should have understood everything; her departure surely brought a great impact on Beisitian.

Thinking that, she looked at Shen Junping and said, ”Little Doctor Shen, this...”

Shen Junping quickly assured, ”Don’t worry, Sister Yu, I won’t tell anyone about your matter.”

Yu Shufang nodded, ”Please explain to everyone that if it weren’t for Doctor Xiao Bei, I might have already died of pain! I’ve had a bad temper these years, and Doctor Xiao Bei has suffered because of it. Please make sure everyone understands and doesn’t misunderstand.”

Without pain, her irritability naturally subsided.

Shen Junping immediately nodded, knowing what needed to be done even without Yu Shufang telling him. However, can Yu Shufang’s illness genuinely be cured?

If it can’t be cured, even if no one misunderstands, their impression of Beisitian wouldn’t change much.

Although she hadn’t been there long, the nickname ’Little Chinese Doctor’ bore significant negativity and malice. Beisitian would need to prove herself to shed that nickname.
