I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 239: Chapter 238: If You Want Treatment, Come Beg Me

Ma Xiuli glanced at Qi Xiu Hui and said to Beisitian, ”You come out, I want to talk to you.”

After saying this, she started walking out. After two steps, she realized there was no movement behind her. When she turned back, she saw Beisitian sitting there motionless, as if she hadn’t heard her at all, which made her teeth itch with frustration. This girl had her cornered.

This matter concerned Sister Yu, and she wanted to know how Beisitian knew about it. So, she reluctantly lowered her head and, biting her teeth, said word by word, ”Please come out, I want to talk to you, about Sister Yu.”

Beisitian relaxed her eyebrows, nodded, said a word to Qi Xiu Hui, and then walked out.

Qi Xiu Hui stood up, a bit worried, looking at Beisitian. Ma Xiuli was always formidable; would Xiao Bei be at a disadvantage?

When Beisitian exited the clinic, she immediately felt the eyes from all directions, mocking, curious, puzzled, and gloating.

Among these, there was a gaze that felt strange, carrying scrutiny and even a hint of concern.

Beisitian sensed this particular gaze and turned to look. Standing over there were Nurse Liu, Tian Lei, and Shen Junping.

Shen Junping looked at Beisitian and sighed repeatedly. He went out but couldn’t find Yu Shufang.

”Don’t worry, Brother Shen, I know where Sister Yu is, there’s no need to bother.” Ma Xiuli shouted to Shen Junping.

Shen Junping nodded. With Ma Xiuli there, nothing should go wrong.

Seeing Ma Xiuli calling Beisitian out, many people showed a smile. With Ma Xiuli, this formidable woman, the Little Chinese Doctor was bound to face the music.

The name ”Little Chinese Doctor” had almost become synonymous with Beisitian. It wasn’t a compliment; rather, it was full of sarcasm.

Ding Sisi gloatingly thought, with this incident, Beisitian was probably unpopular with the entire health team. It would be fortunate if her reputation wasn’t negative. If she continued this way, one less competitor awaited her soon.

Luo Jiali looked at Beisitian and shook her head inwardly, thinking this girl clearly lacked social experience but was extremely self-assured, disregarding everyone, hence being so ostentatious and arrogant.

On her very first day, she had already infuriated someone to tears and made them storm out.

Watching the two walk out of the health team one after another, Tian Lei took advantage of the moment and left the team unnoticed.

The two went to the back of the health team building. Ma Xiuli leaned against the wall looking at Beisitian and said, ”Did Sister Yu tell you?”

She thought this was unlikely. Sister Yu was very secretive about this matter, even she discovered it by accident, and when Sister Yu found out, she made her swear not to tell anyone!

”Can’t you see it yet?” Beisitian slightly frowned, lamenting their lack of knowledge in Chinese medicine.

”See it?” Ma Xiuli also frowned.

”Most Chinese doctors can see a lot of diseases from a person’s face without the need for instruments,” said Beisitian.

Though instruments may provide a clearer view, without specific checks, early signs can’t be detected, but Chinese medicine is different; signs can be detected from the face and various body reactions, thus preventing problems before they occur.

Beisitian didn’t reject Western medicine; every discipline had its strengths. The advantages of Chinese and Western medicine were different, and she felt they could fully complement each other.

Ma Xiuli had heard this saying as well, that Chinese medicine, by observing certain features on a person’s face, such as certain spots or dark patches, could determine if someone had a disease or where there was a pathological change.

However, what she dealt with were various medical devices, advanced and convenient; she’d only heard of these things.

”Did you really see it?” Ma Xiuli’s tone was full of skepticism.

Beisitian remained silent.

”Alright, alright, I’ll believe you saw it, but do you know exactly what the problem is?” Ma Xiuli asked, raising her eyebrows with a hint of probing, wanting to see if Beisitian stumbled upon it by accident or learned it from elsewhere.

Beisitian didn’t hide anything and said, ”There should be a tumor in her uterus. Judging from her symptoms, it’s probably quite large now. If it isn’t treated properly, it could be life-threatening.”

Ma Xiuli’s face changed drastically, ”Is it that serious?”

”Aren’t there instruments? Just check her with one, won’t it?” Beisitian wanted to witness the examination process.

Ma Xiuli frowned and after a while shook her head, ”Sister Yu wouldn’t let anyone examine her. She’s divorced and fears that gynecological issues would bring bad rumors, affecting her life and her son.”

Beisitian was taken aback, was this the reason?

This wasn’t hard to understand. After all, many gynecological diseases were caused by men. She was a widow, indeed needing to be mindful of certain things.

But that’s no excuse not to treat her illness. She must be suffering every day, even the dull pain in her lower abdomen would be unbearable. This type of pain isn’t sharp and intense, but constant, like the discomfort during those days of the month, only much more painful.

Ma Xiuli’s face suddenly showed a trace of entanglement. Her eyes glanced at Beisitian several times, ”I’ve heard that Chinese medicine is very effective in treating gynecological diseases. Since you can see it, can you treat it?”

”I can.”

Ma Xiuli was overjoyed, ”That’s great! Come with me, we’ll go find Sister Yu and treat her. With just the three of us, she won’t resist, and then you can promise in front of her not to tell anyone else.”

Beisitian looked at Ma Xiuli, whose face showed she’s taking it for granted, her expression indifferent, ”No.”

”Why not?” Ma Xiuli widened her eyes.

”Why should I?” Beisitian retorted.

Ma Xiuli was stumped, her eyes wide open, unable to speak,

After all, Beisitian was the Mystic Doctor; naturally, she had her pride. She would only go to treat people when she wanted to, there was a difference between going eagerly and willingly. Since she’d been here, only the old man had she gone to treat eagerly.

As for the rest, who did they think they were?

Beisitian no longer paid attention to Ma Xiuli, turned around and walked back, not looking back, ”If she wants treatment, she can come to me when she’s ready to ask.”

Ma Xiuli was dumbfounded. This girl really had some pride, actually suggesting they should come and ask her!

Ma Xiuli pouted, wondering if she could really treat it was uncertain, yet she was already putting on airs.

Seeing Beisitian walk away, she turned around to find Yu Shufang. She decided to have a good talk with her first, go for a check-up, and not just rely on the Little Chinese Doctor’s word. What if she was just bluffing? If she believed in her rashly, she’d make a fool of herself.

Ma Xiuli knew where Yu Shufang was, found her easily, but was shocked when she saw her. Yu Shufang was drenched in sweat, collapsed on the ground, clutching her stomach, unable to speak.
