I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 245: Chapter 244: Meddling Like a Dog

Feeling most apologetic about this matter was Ma Xiuli, as she was the first one to call out that nickname. At the time, she didn’t mean much harm, but as it spread, malice developed.

The three of them simultaneously looked at Beisitian, seeing that her demeanor remained calm as usual, seemingly unaffected by it all.

Shen Junping initially thought she was pretending, but now it was clear she wasn’t. It was more like a temperament refined through countless trials, nothing could affect her emotions, unmoved by external things.

”Doctor Xiao Bei, it was my fault. When Sister Yu gets better, I will definitely apologize to you in front of everyone!” Ma Xiuli said.

Beisitian smiled faintly, ”Alright, I’ll wait for that day.”

She did need to apologize for her impulsiveness and hot temper. At her age, how could she act without any sense or principles?

Ma Xiuli was not bad at heart and was someone who dared to take responsibility. Since she realized her mistake, she would make good on it.

”Don’t let Doctor Yu catch a chill, and make sure the water is warm. The room shouldn’t be stuffy, open the windows for ventilation from time to time. During this period, avoid spicy and cold foods, you can add some goji and Huang Qi appropriately,” Beisitian advised.

Ma Xiuli attentively listened and noted it all down.

”If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going. Starting tomorrow, Doctor Yu needs to get out of bed and move around. Remember not to stay in bed all the time. You have an internal wound, and there’s inflammation; prolonged bed rest won’t do you any good.” Beisitian said as she headed toward the door.

”Are goji and Huang Qi used to replenish qi and blood?” Ma Xiuli asked from behind.

”Yes, once the tumor shrinks, you’ll need to properly regulate your body. Otherwise, the physical deficit will be severe, and aging will come even quicker.” Beisitian replied.

Speaking of conditioning, compared to Western medicine, Chinese medicine is simply not on the same level.

”Then... when the time comes, Beibei, please help with the conditioning again. We only know one Chinese doctor, and that’s you!” Ma Xiuli clasped her hands in front of her chest in a pleading manner.

Doctor Bei Bei...

Beisitian pressed her lips and raised her eyebrows, ”I’m just a little Chinese doctor, maybe not enough to count on.”

”I was wrong! Don’t take it out on Sister Yu because of me, she’s innocent!” Ma Xiuli quickly closed the gap, recalling her attitude towards Beisitian two days ago, her heart tightened. This girl holds grudges!

Beisitian didn’t pay her any more attention and pushed the door open to leave.

Ma Xiuli watched her retreating figure with longing eyes, then turned to Shen Junping, saying, ”Brother Shen, help me plead my case!”

Shen Junping shook his head, ”Who’s to blame for making up nicknames for people recklessly.”

”I didn’t know then.”

”Didn’t know what? Didn’t know she was capable? You think you can just give people nicknames without considering their abilities?”

Ma Xiuli was speechless. She really didn’t mean any harm; she just thought it was fun at the time. Who would’ve thought that it would change flavor through the gossip of the two Zangs.

”Alright, Doctor Xiao Bei is not cold-hearted. Otherwise, given the situation back then, if she hadn’t taken care of Sister Yu, you’d regret it enough.” Shen Junping commented.

He understood clearly that Beisitian was straightforward and decisive. Since she got involved, she would most likely see it through to the end. If she chose not to help, no matter how much you pleaded, she wouldn’t involve herself.

On the way back, Shen Junping stopped and sincerely apologized to Beisitian, ”I thought you were deceiving me, but I didn’t expect you could actually see it. It was short-sighted of us.”

Beisitian looked at him and saw his sincerity. She nodded without saying much more. She was not a petty or small-minded person; since he sincerely apologized, she wouldn’t hold it against him. It wasn’t a big deal to begin with.

The two of them returned to the medical team, where everyone was waiting for the results.

Seeing only the two of them return, with Ma Xiuli not following, it sparked even more curiosity among them. What exactly happened? How is Sister Yu’s condition now, is she truly sick?

Zhang Meili and Zhang Hui Ping exchanged a glance, then both stepped forward, flanking Shen Junping with a stance that suggested they wouldn’t let him go until he explained.

Although Shen Junping had good relations and reputation, he was a nice guy. Every time the two Zangs did this, even if sometimes he felt annoyed, he never expressed it, which made the two of them even more audacious.

It was natural for someone to ask, and Shen Junping was planning to tell everyone about it.

”Rest assured, everyone. Sister Yu’s condition is stable now; everything’s alright. This time we have Doctor Xiao Bei to thank, without her, Sister Yu would have been in danger!” Shen Junping said.

The specifics he couldn’t say; this matter concerned Sister Yu’s reputation. If spread by someone with ill intentions, who knows how it would turn out. How would Sister Yu live then!

”Doctor Xiao Bei?” Zhang Meili sneered, seemingly amused by Shen Junping’s way of addressing Beisitian.

Shen Junping slightly frowned, ”Yes, Doctor Xiao Bei!”

Zhang Hui Ping supressed a laugh and asked, ”Brother Shen, tell us, what did the little Chinese doctor do to help?”

”Without Doctor Xiao Bei, Sister Yu would be in danger today!” Shen Junping emphasized once again.

”You’re saying that, but how would we know? Tell us the details~” Zhang Meili chimed in.

Shen Junping felt a bit annoyed but was helpless against these two people.

”If you want to know the details, wait for Doctor Yu to return and ask her. If you can’t wait, you can ask Ma Xiuli instead.” Beisitian said indifferently.

She didn’t have the leisure to help Shen Junping out of this bind, especially since these two’s language towards her was filled with disdain, which she found unpleasant.

Ask Yu Shufang or Ma Xiuli?

With their explosive tempers, the two Zangs aren’t afraid of Shen Junping, nor are they afraid of Doctor Sun, but they do fear these two. When their tempers flare, they’ll leave you humiliated in front of whomever is around. Both Zhang Meili and Zhang Hui Ping are in their thirties, so if criticized and mocked in public by these two, what face would they have to stay?

Beisitian’s suggestion was clearly because she had figured out that they were afraid of the two!

”Little Chinese doctor, we’re talking to Brother Shen, why are you interrupting! Haven’t you any manners!” Zhang Meili was furious; she wouldn’t say something so harsh to others, all colleagues here, but a newly arrived medical assistant, and one from Chinese medicine at that, destined for no prospects. She had no reservations.

”When people talk, are dogs supposed to chime in? Why are you interrupting when I’m speaking?” Beisitian retorted with a cold laugh.

Zhang Meili was stunned into silence; this little Chinese doctor actually insulted her in front of so many people!

”You...”

”Alright, alright, today’s discussion is about Sister Yu’s matter. The questions you asked earlier weren’t appropriate. Alright, the details can be shared by Sister Yu when she returns. Doctor Xiao Bei, hurry back to the clinic with me, don’t delay treating patients.” Shen Junping interjected, gesturing for Beisitian to return to the clinic.
