I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 238: Chapter 237: Don’t Want to Work Here Anymore?

Yu Shufang is a divorced woman in her forties. Although military marriages are protected, she initiated the divorce with her husband and raised her child alone, viewing things very realistically. Some people say behind her back that she lacks enlightenment.

Every time Yu Shufang hears such rumors, she sneers. Can enlightenment fill her stomach? Can it fill her son’s stomach? Can it send her son to school? It’s not easy for a woman in society, let alone one who’s divorced and raising a child alone.

So she dislikes people like Beisitian who are supposedly farsighted. It’s fine to have a long-term vision, but you have to be able to live through the present first.

Those who hold high ideals but can’t even ensure basic needs are truly laughable!

”Being able to settle down is the most important thing. What long-term vision? If you can’t even get through the present, what’s the point of talking about a long-term vision!” Yu Shufang sneered.

People Beisitian’s age often can’t see themselves clearly and hold high hopes for society. Once she gets hit by setbacks from society, she’ll understand the world isn’t that beautiful!

Beisitian doesn’t want to argue about ideals and ambitions. She stared unblinkingly at Yu Shufang, almost making her furious, before saying, ”You have a serious illness, don’t you? Why not get treated?”

Yu Shufang was stunned, then furious. She slapped the table, stood up, and pointed at Beisitian saying, ”You little thing, who are you calling sick? You’re the sick one! So young, yet you know how to curse people!”

Shen Junping knew Yu Shufang’s temperament. As a woman raising a child alone, she had to face all kinds of difficulties, so it’s understandable she’d be a bit irritable. He didn’t expect Beisitian to say such a thing, nor did he expect Yu Shufang to suddenly explode in anger.

He quickly stood up to smooth things over, ”Sister Yu, Sister Yu, don’t be angry. Can’t you just talk things over? You too, Xiao Bei, how could you talk like that? Go apologize to Sister Yu!”

Qi Xiu Hui was startled by Yu Shufang and looked bewilderedly from one person to the next, wanting to say something nice but not knowing how.

Beisitian didn’t expect Yu Shufang to be so volatile, but she remained unaffected, her demeanor as calm as water.

”I’m just stating the facts. Your illness is indeed not something convenient to talk about, but if you don’t treat it, it’ll become very serious.”

Shen Junping looked at Beisitian’s serious and calm expression, her clear and sincere eyes, and turned to Yu Shufang in confusion, ”Sister Yu, if you’re really not feeling well, you shouldn’t hide it. Illnesses are most afraid of delay.”

Yu Shufang’s eyes widened, her face flushed, unsure if she was angry or embarrassed. She pointed at Beisitian speechless, her fingers trembling, then angrily swung her arm and ran out of the clinic, tears streaming down as she left.

Because everyone was quite free at this time, when Yu Shufang slapped the table, people came out to see the commotion. Soon, they saw Yu Shufang crying as she ran out, causing an uproar.

Though not knowing the details, everyone knew it was the new Little Chinese Doctor who made Sister Yu cry, and they started gossiping immediately.

Shen Junping looked stupefied at the doorway; how did this good situation turn into her running off?

”Xiao Bei, I ask you... are you telling the truth?” Shen Junping was also a bit upset. If Beisitian did it deliberately, then her putting on such an appearance would make him a culprit.

”A human face can reflect not just the state of the internal organs but also reveal a lot of other things.” This is something Western medicine can’t detect.

Beisitian felt a bit surprised. Gynecological issues, if it was in her past life, would indeed be met with resistance by most people, but here it shouldn’t be the case. Why did Yu Shufang react so strongly?

Yu Shufang wasn’t terminally ill, but her gynecological problem was quite severe. If she didn’t treat it well, it would affect her normal life. She should be well aware of this.

As a doctor, she actually shuns the treatment of her own illness!

Shen Junping sighed, turned around, and chased after her.

Qi Xiu Hui stood up, looking at the door for a long time, then sighed, gazing at Beisitian with helplessness and wonder.

”Xiao Bei, you just got here, why would you provoke a senior? That’s really unwise.” She frowned, worried about Beisitian’s future work environment in the medical team.

Interpersonal relationships are important. If they’re not handled well, whether in life, study, or work, it can affect efficiency and mood. If it gets bad enough, one might even be ostracized and eventually not want to work anymore.

Beisitian just arrived and managed to offend someone and make them cry and run out. This is too serious. Seeing it from others’ perspectives, who would want to talk or interact with her?

Although Yu Shufang has a bad temper, she’s quite respected in the medical team. She always helps when she can and never shirks, making her well-liked. What Beisitian did almost equates to offending many people.

”What should we do about this...” Qi Xiu Hui seemed more worried than Beisitian.

Beisitian chuckled at the sight, ”It’s okay. It won’t be long before she looks for a doctor herself. Isn’t she always having lower abdominal pain right now?”

”How did you know?” Qi Xiu Hui was greatly surprised.

Seeing her expression, Beisitian shook her head. Although there is specialization in technique, as a doctor, one should know such basic symptoms.

At this point, Beisitian wronged her. Doctors now specialize in one area. In the military, there aren’t even gynecologists. With such limited exposure and not being the corresponding specialty or having related issues themselves, it’s completely normal not to know.

”Oh, you’re still in the mood to chat here? Little Chinese Doctor’s quite capable, huh? Only the first official day of work, and you’ve made Sister Yu cry. Don’t want to work here anymore?” came a voice from the doorway.

Beisitian turned her head and saw a female doctor in her late twenties standing at the doorway, arms crossed, looking at her with a sneer.

Beisitian thought back quickly and recalled that this person was sitting at the desk next to Yu Shufang in the office. Judging by her appearance, she must be here to stand up for Yu Shufang.

”Is whether I want to work here something you can decide?” Beisitian raised an eyebrow.

Ma Xiuli’s face darkened, ”Little girl, don’t be so sharp-tongued. Did Sister Yu provoke you, for you to make her upset like that? If you don’t clarify things today, there won’t be peace for you in the entire medical team!”

Beisitian’s brows carried a hint of ridicule, ”Putting aside whether you can represent the entire medical team, since you’re so concerned about your Sister Yu, why not advise her? If she’s sick, she should get treated. Delaying and hiding it isn’t a solution.”

Ma Xiuli’s expression changed, ”What do you know?”
