Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Zhao Meiyan’s cousin! (Please read)Captain Ma cursed, ”Sibal! Why aren’t you Prosecutors drinking coffee in your offices instead of meddling?”

”Do we need to tell you why our Police Station is handling a case?”

”Are you our Chief?”

”Alright, alright! I like your rebellious attitude.”

Lee Se-hyun asked, ”Are you from the Eastern Police Precinct?”

”Yes! Major Crimes Unit, Team Leader, Orange Number 14514.”

”What, are you going to complain about me?”

”Call Precinct Chief Zhao right now and tell him I’m looking for him.”

Hearing this, Captain Ma panicked a little. This guy is so fierce? Could he know Precinct Chief Zhao?

Captain Ma was just a police sergeant; above him was a Section Chief, and above that was the Chief.

Precinct Chief Zhao was his superior’s superior. Clearly, he was reckless, but not stupid. He just disdained social niceties.

Usually, he relied on his outstanding ability to bend some rules, but this time he had hit a brick wall.

”You know Precinct Chief Zhao, don’t you?” Captain Ma’s tone softened a bit: ”When a case is reported to the Police Station, it naturally falls under our jurisdiction. Even if you’re a Prosecutor, you have no right to interfere, do you?”

That being said, cases reported to the Police Station are handled by the Police Station itself. Generally, Prosecutors handle their own cases independently, without interference, maintaining an equal-level relationship.

The reality was that even Precinct Chief Zhao would have to nod and bow, greeting him as ”Prosecutor Li.”

”Unless you have Precinct Chief Zhao personally issue an order, we will listen to you.”

Lee Se-hyun remained silent, quietly observing Captain Ma. It seemed he had encountered a stubborn mule. If he really called Precinct Chief Zhao over this matter...

Wouldn’t that be purely embarrassing? To be put in his place by a mere police sergeant.

Cheng Du glanced at Lee Se-hyun’s displeased expression, knowing his chance to shine had arrived.

A Prosecutor and an Administrative Officer rise and fall together. Insulting the Prosecutor was tantamount to insulting him.

Cheng Du angrily said, ”So Precinct Chief Zhao can give orders, is that right?”

”I’m asking you!”

”Precinct Chief Zhao can give orders, but Prosecutor Li cannot, is that right?”

Cheng Du pointed at Captain Ma’s forehead, angrily shouting, ”I’m asking you! Can Prosecutor Li give orders or not!”

”Well done, A’Du! You truly are my Administrative Officer; you’re gradually becoming a legend.”

Lee Se-hyun nodded. ”A’Du probably wants a promotion again! That’s how he’s doing it.”

Captain Ma was being pointed at on the forehead, feeling angry, but he didn’t dare to show it. Not only was the other person a Prosecutor, but he also knew his direct superior.

If he lost his temper now, it would feel good, but his chances of advancement would be gone.

”Can you give orders or not?!”

Everyone watched Captain Ma being reprimanded by an Administrative Officer, not daring to utter a peep, and they were very surprised.

The usually arrogant Captain Ma, who didn’t even care about Section Chiefs, was now subservient in front of a Prosecutor, no... an assistant, like a primary school student being scolded by a teacher.

Their worldview shattered, their jaws dropped.

Captain Ma suppressed his anger, unwillingly saying, ”Yes... yes, he can give orders.”

Captain Ma, known for his integrity, actually bowed his proud head to authority.

His tall, muscular physique, standing at one meter ninety, now appeared so small. Was this still our Captain Ma?

”As a Prosecutor from the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, Strategy Department, I demand that all Oranges present obey my command.”

Lee Se-hyun asked expressionlessly, ”Any problems?”

”No... no problems.” Captain Ma felt his knees go weak, as if he might collapse at any moment.

At this point, how could he still have problems?

”Good.” Lee Se-hyun nodded, then looked at the Little Old Man from the antique shop, who was still bewildered, and said coldly, ”Now, representing the laws of The Peninsula, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Police Station...”

”I am arresting you!”

”The charges are forced buying and selling, trafficking in fake goods, defrauding consumers, slandering a Prosecutor, assaulting a public officer, riding an old lady across the street, public urination...”

”And... one hundred and eight other charges. Do you plead guilty?”

”One hundred and eight??” The Little Old Man suspected his ears were malfunctioning and quickly retorted, ”Your Honor!”

”I don’t admit it! You... you’re clearly slandering me!”

”Good!” Lee Se-hyun smiled, a very happy smile: ”Very good! Add another charge: resisting arrest!”

”Ah!”

”Is there still justice, still law?!” The Little Old Man wailed, trying to elicit sympathy from those around him.

The crowd dared not speak, fearing Lee Se-hyun would also pin them with a charge of being an accomplice. Where would they go to argue that?

If you want to condemn someone, you can always find an excuse.

Captain Ma, being a righteous man, hesitated repeatedly before finally saying, ”Prosecutor Li, isn’t this a bit out of line?”

This Prosecutor was too ruthless, slapping so many charges on someone without a word. Captain Ma thought his usual tactic of making criminals ’sleepwalk’ was already tough enough.

Lee Se-hyun’s method was like killing without spilling blood; he’d put you away through proper procedures, and you wouldn’t even have a chance to resist.

”Do you think I’m making a mountain out of a molehill, being unreasonable, that this old man doesn’t deserve such charges?”

The crowd didn’t respond, only daring to nod silently in their hearts. Taking a life is one thing, but this man just sold some fake goods, and it was being treated as if he had defected to the North.

It was as if he wanted to implicate his entire clan.

The Little Old Man was in tears, slumping to the ground, wailing, ”You’re trying to force this old man to his death!”

”Everyone, come and see! The people of The Peninsula don’t treat us as human beings!”

”They’re bullying this Little Old Man. All I did was sell an antique for a bit more, and this esteemed Prosecutor is being so aggressive.”

”Groundless! Absolutely groundless!”

”I am more wronged than Grandfather Yue!”

The onlookers outside the shop grew in number, crowding the entrance, discussing and pointing.

”What’s going on? Oranges and a Prosecutor, can any fellow netizens explain?”

”I’m just a passerby. I’ve been here since the Oranges arrived. It seems like a group of people bullying an old man.”

”What? Bullying an old man? This Peninsula Country is rotten to the core. I say Peninsula people are truly not human!”

”Sibal! What are you saying?! Who isn’t human? Am I not human? Am I really not human!”

”I’m an insider in the antique circle. I know this boss. He’s notoriously black-hearted in the industry, specializing in selling fake goods, swindling, and deceiving. In short, he’s not a good person.”

”He totally deserves it!”

”Really?”

Seeing his scheme succeed, the Little Old Man smiled smugly. ”A guy who hasn’t even grown all his hair yet thinks he can fight me?!”

Most of the voices were still on the moral high ground, pointing fingers at Lee Se-hyun and his group for bullying an old man and not playing fair.

Captain Ma listened, feeling a stir within him, wanting to speak up and persuade, but Lee Se-hyun interrupted him.

Lee Se-hyun didn’t waste words. He had come prepared today. His purpose for this trip, besides buying antiques, was to act on behalf of heaven and eliminate harm for the people!

Host: Lee Se-hyun

Status: Prosecutor (Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office)

Daily Intelligence: Refreshed (Version 1.1)

Intelligence 3: Park Jung-nam, the owner of the antique shop, is suspected of forced buying and selling, loan sharking, murder... and 108 other charges.

The Little Old Man was still playing the victim, sniffling and weeping, telling everyone how difficult his life was and how evil Lee Se-hyun and his group were.

Little did he know that with Lee Se-hyun’s cheat activated, the Little Old Man’s entire past had been exposed.

Lee Se-hyun sighed, ”This guy can really act. He could win a Blue Dragon Best Actress award.”

Cheng Du, receiving a signal from Lee Se-hyun, took a bag of documents from his briefcase and handed it to Captain Ma, telling him to take a good look at what this scoundrel had done.

Captain Ma was puzzled. He took the file, tore it open, and what he saw was shocking. His fists unconsciously clenched with blood, wanting to hypnotize the old man in front of him.

Any thoughts of ’bullying a fifty-year-old man’ or ’not playing fair’ were completely thrown out of his mind.

Captain Ma’s anger flared. His eyes were fierce, bloodshot. The Little Old Man felt a chill down his spine, as if a fierce tiger was staring at him.
