Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

The Yellow Sea by Kim Jiu-nam (Seeking follow-up reading)“Police Chief Cao, after our diagnosis of the deceased and confirmation of their information,”

“The deceased is named Jin Jiunan, 41 years old, male, and was a professor at Seoul University.”

“We found multiple bullet holes in the deceased’s back, and the preliminary diagnosis is that he died from multiple gunshot wounds to the back.”

“Hmm.” Police Chief Cao lifted the white sheet. Jin Jiunan’s death scene was gruesome, and a smell had already begun to emanate. He said impatiently, “Where’s the killer?!”

“Am I here to listen to your nonsense? I’m asking you who the killer is!”

“This…” The forensic doctors looked at each other.

They were just forensic doctors, okay? Not famous detectives, or some Shinigami Elementary Schooler. Who could deduce the killer just by looking at the body?

Shouldn’t your Police Station be the one to investigate and find the killer?

Ask them, the forensic doctors? They wouldn’t know a thing!

“A bunch of good-for-nothings!” Police Chief Cao cursed, then put on white gloves and a mask, searching the scene for clues, seemingly quite professional!

Meanwhile, Shixian, having overcome numerous obstacles, arrived at the center of the crime scene, where Police Chief Cao and his team were.

“What are you doing?!”

Cheng Du was holding the Prosecutor’s evidence, his arm slightly aching.

As soon as everyone saw it was the Prosecutor, they immediately shut their mouths, not daring to utter a sound.

Shixian looked at Police Chief Cao’s well-equipped and professional demeanor, and couldn’t help but exclaim, “As expected of a professional! This is professionalism!”

Police Chief Cao, engrossed, was squatting on the ground as if he had discovered something extraordinary.

“Ah! Finally found it!”

He shouted, attracting everyone’s attention.

“Found what?” Shixian quickly stepped forward, reaching Police Chief Cao’s side, and saw that it was a single strand of hair!

“Could this be the killer’s hair?!”

Shixian exclaimed in surprise, “Is he really a sibal detective? Did Western Sherlock Holmes possess him, brother!”

Although he already knew who the mastermind was through the system’s intelligence, it didn’t prevent his astonishment. This guy was a damn genius.

“No.” Police Chief Cao shook his head and said seriously, “It’s the deceased’s hair!”

“My Cao…” Shixian grabbed Police Chief Cao by the collar, lifting him completely off the ground.

“Hey! Hey!! What are you doing!!! Let go of me!”

Police Chief Cao, suspended in the air, face towards the floor, back of his head towards the sky, cursed, “siba old ma!”

“How dare you openly assault an officer? Let go of me, or I’ll make you regret it!!”

The surrounding officers, seeing their Police Chief being lifted, rushed over to rescue him.

“Let go of our boss!”

“Who the sibal let this guy in?!”

“Pretty boy, if you don’t let go of our boss, I’m going to empty my clip!”

Empty your clip?!!

Shixian smiled, a very disdainful smile. To maintain friendly relations between the Police Station and the Prosecutor’s Office, he let go, and Police Chief Cao fell flat on his back.

“Ow… ow ow.” Police Chief Cao clutched his backside tightly, raised his hand, and shouted, “Hit him! Hit him hard for me!”

“If he dies, it’s on me!!!”

Upon hearing this, the officers dared not take a step forward, staring intently at the Prosecutor’s evidence in Cheng Du’s hand.

“You bunch of curs, you’re usually so arrogant, why are you cowering today?”

“Are you ignoring what I said?” Police Chief Cao’s face was contorted in anger. He picked up a police baton, ready to personally teach the person in front of him a harsh lesson.

Today, I’ll make you see why flowers are so red.

Six hits in one second isn’t the limit of swinging a baton, but the limit your body can withstand!

With a *smack*~

A white piece of evidence was slapped directly onto Police Chief Cao’s face, making a crisp sound. Hmm… a good head indeed.

“S-sibal.” Police Chief Cao was about to get angry but instantly fell silent. Seeing the evidence, he widened his eyes and said, “Pro… Prosecutor?!”

“What sibal?” Shixian teased.

“Ah!?” Police Chief Cao’s expression changed rapidly. He immediately put on a fawning smile and said, “Replying to Prosecutor Li, I was saying that sibal is truly a good country.”

“Especially their football, it’s exceptionally good, top-notch!”

Football? That reminded Shixian that next week was Ye-sol’s football match, wasn’t it?

“Then do you prefer Messi or Ronaldo?”

“Messi…” Police Chief Cao saw that something was off and immediately changed his tune, “I don’t like Messi, my most hated football star is Messi!”

“I’ve been watching football since I was three, fell in love with Ronaldo at eight, becoming a die-hard fan, and at twelve, I stole money from my parents to buy a limited edition jersey…”

“Alright, alright!” Shixian waved his hand to stop him, “Police Chief Cao, we are here to solve a case, not to listen to your glorious youth.”

This Police Chief Cao changes his face quickly, doesn’t he? As soon as he heard he was a Prosecutor, he immediately changed his tune. His Sichuan opera face-changing skills are comparable to Minister Han’s.

“Yes sir!” Police Chief Cao saluted in a Western style and said seriously, “Prosecutor Li, this way please!”

Shixian followed Police Chief Cao to the deceased’s side. Police Chief Cao took the forensic analysis conclusions as his own and explained them to him one by one.

“The deceased is named Jin Jiunan, 41 years old, male, and was a professor at Seoul University. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the back and died of shock. Judging from the extent of the wounds, death should not have occurred more than an hour ago.”

“Preliminary inference: first, we rule out the possibility of suicide.”

Alright, alright, just spouting nonsense, are we?

Shixian was almost fooled by Police Chief Cao’s serious, professional expression. If it weren’t for the last conclusion, ruling out suicide.

He almost believed him.

“So you spent half a day to come up with just this one conclusion?” Shixian said displeased, “The deceased was shot multiple times in the back? If it wasn’t someone else who killed him, was it suicide?!”

“Do you think the deceased ate a Gum-Gum Fruit and is some guy with a straw hat? Just spouting nonsense!”

This is like a news report from Piaoliang Guo in his previous life, where one report stated that a certain boss died from eight gunshot wounds to the back, and the forensic examination ultimately ruled it a suicide!

Truly incredible, free America, gunfights every day.

Six hundred and sixty, they don’t even bother to act anymore.

“I don’t care whether the deceased committed suicide or was murdered. I only care about one question: who is the killer?!”

A familiar scene. Police Chief Cao was dumbfounded. Wasn’t that what he had just said?

The killer? How would they know who it was? They were used to throwing their weight around, so how would they investigate a case? Even if the killer stood right in front of them, they might not recognize him.

“Useless!” Shixian cursed directly.

“Prosecutor Li, you are right to reprimand us!” Police Chief Cao turned around and cursed at the police officers, “Did you hear that? You bunch of good-for-nothings! Are you all just eating for nothing normally?”

“You can’t even find the killer in a case. What good are you?”

One level curses the next. The officers were angry but dared not speak, thinking, *You son of a sibal, you got cursed by the Prosecutor, so you only dare to curse us to vent, right?*

“Prosecutor Li.” Police Chief Cao took a bottle of mineral water and said fawningly, “How about we take a break and have lunch? Anyway, there’s no news on this case for a while.”

“Just let the subordinates investigate. Even if they can’t find anything, I have a way to catch the killer.”

“You have a way?” Shixian took the mineral water; he was indeed a bit thirsty. He questioned, “Is that true?”

It wasn’t that Shixian didn’t believe Police Chief Cao; it was just that this guy was too unreliable. He really wondered if all Police Chiefs in the South Korea were like this?

The case happened, and instead of searching for clues, he wanted to invite Shixian to eat.

Was this guy even going to investigate the case?

Just as Shixian was thinking, a pretentious voice came from behind him.

“I have solved the case!”
