Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

True or false prosecutor!Lee Se-hyun suddenly recalled a popular internet meme from his previous life: there’s a legend in the South Korea that if you accidentally anger a Chaebol, you won’t even find a corpse in the Han River the next day.

“Is this the famous Han River?”

Lee Se-hyun looked at the river merging with the sky, the setting sun, and the shimmering reflections on the river surface under the twilight, painting a breathtaking landscape.

He found it hard to imagine how many vengeful spirits of the Han River were hidden beneath this beautiful scenery. Seeing how practiced Chairman Shi and his men were, it was clear that they had often disposed of bodies in the river.

“Shixian, why are you so surprised?”

Chairman Shi was a little puzzled. Although not everyone in the Great Han Republic had seen the Han River, someone like Lee Se-hyun, who had lived in Capital City for many years, shouldn’t be reacting this way.

However, Chairman Shi didn’t think much of it. It was impossible for him to guess that Lee Se-hyun was a transmigrator; that would be a bit unscientific.

Chairman Shi looked at the beautiful scenery and couldn’t help but sigh, “The twilight of a sunset always makes one recall old memories.”

Chairman Shi looked at Lee Se-hyun’s youthful appearance and couldn’t help but think of his own past, from the son of a grassroots fisherman to arriving in the international metropolis of Capital City.

From a fisherman’s son to the head of the Jinmen Group, the hardships along the way were self-evident.

“Indeed!” Lee Se-hyun also sighed from the side.

Chairman Shi was startled, and the two exchanged a smile.

Chairman Shi suddenly congratulated, “Shixian, ah, no... from now on I should call you Prosecutor Li.”

“I truly envy you. At such a young age, you are a Prosecutor at the Capital City High Prosecutor’s Office. Your future is bright, and the future of Capital City belongs to people like you.”

Lee Se-hyun was baffled. What was wrong with this old man? Was he getting sentimental? Anyone who didn’t know would think Chairman Shi wasn’t a gang leader, but rather a Capital City councilor concerned about the nation.

“I swear my allegiance to Chairman Shi!”

“I will assist Chairman Shi in building the Jinmen Group into an international enterprise like the Samsung Group!”

When Chairman Shi heard this, a surge of ambition ignited within him. A Prosecutor, though not supremely powerful, was not insignificant either. With the resources of their Jinmen Group assisting him...

They might just be able to elevate Lee Se-hyun, allowing the Jinmen Group to reach a higher level and no longer be constantly schemed against by minor officials.

Chairman Shi shook his head and sighed. The fire of ambition that had just flared up quickly extinguished. He was already past middle age, with one foot in the grave.

Had he been younger, he might have been moved by Lee Se-hyun’s words. But now, Chairman Shi only wanted to wash his hands of everything and live out the rest of his life in peace.

Washing his hands of everything might be difficult! Many people wanted him dead. They wouldn’t sleep until Chairman Shi was gone.

Someone holding a DV camera was recording Lee Se-hyun, documenting his ’pledge of allegiance’ to use as leverage against him.

Lee Se-hyun looked at the gruesome scene before him, like something out of a movie. His Prosecutor was completely merged with cement in an oil drum, and he fell into deep thought.

Chairman Shi and the others looked at Lee Se-hyun. If Lee Se-hyun didn’t accept this ’pledge of allegiance,’ he would likely also be merged with cement and sent on a journey to the West.

Everyone present today, without exception, was on Lee Se-hyun’s kill list.

Whether for revenge or to eliminate future threats.

His heart sank. He closed his eyes and pushed the oil drum into the Han River.

With a sound like a torpedo exploding, a splash erupted!

“Bang!”

The splash quickly dissipated, causing no ripple in the Han River.

Lee Se-hyun couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion. Humans truly are insignificant creatures.

“Chairman Shi, is there any more entertainment?” Lee Se-hyun asked, throwing his cigar into the Han River. “If not, I’ll head back first.”

Chairman Shi patted Lee Se-hyun’s shoulder: “If you need help, just say the word. From now on, we’re family, don’t be shy.”

From this day forward, Lee Se-hyun was officially on their rogue ship.

The Jinmen Group could also be considered to have turned misfortune into a blessing. Originally targeted by a Prosecutor, now the Prosecutor had defected and become their protector.

Chairman Shi truly admired himself. A plan that killed two birds with one stone, such clever strategy, comparable to a living Zhuge Liang.

Seeing Lee Se-hyun nod without saying anything, Chairman Shi continued, “I still have to tie up some loose ends here. You go back first.” Chairman Shi tossed him a car key.

Lee Se-hyun caught the key, stylishly threw his cigar into the Han River, opened the door of a Volkswagen, and drove towards the city center, heading home.

After watching Lee Se-hyun leave, Chairman Shi signaled for everyone else to get into the car.

Chairman Shi, with a cigar in his mouth, said to his secretary and driver, “I don’t want a second person to know about today’s events.”

“Yes!”

The driver gripped the steering wheel, his heart trembling with fear, sweat pouring down his forehead.

What did Chairman Shi mean? A second person knowing? But there were at least seven or eight Jinmen personnel present today.

Surely he wasn’t going to dispose of all of them and sink them in the Han River? These people were all Chairman Shi’s trusted confidantes! Would it be his turn next time? The driver suddenly felt a sense of sorrow for his impending fate, like a fox grieving for a dead rabbit... Gangnam District, Bongyi Villa Complex.

After parking the car, Lee Se-hyun followed the route from his memory to his elder brother’s house. Standing at the gate, he hesitated for a moment. He was a little nervous; he was about to face his sister-in-law.

If Park Yeonjin discovered he was an imposter, he would be finished. He couldn’t possibly sink Park Yeonjin in the Han River too, could he?

Lee Se-hyun shook his head, pushing that absurd thought out of his mind. Park Yeonjin wasn’t like Lee Kyung-hyun, who had no ties or attachments, with no other relatives besides a younger brother.

Coupled with Lee Se-hyun’s impersonation, basically, if there were no accidents, no one would care about Lee Kyung-hyun’s disappearance.

Lee Se-hyun patted his handsome face with both hands, trying to clear his head, then mustered his courage, took out the key, and opened the gate.

He pushed open the door, and a magnificent and luxurious interior appeared before him. Lee Kyung-hyun couldn’t help but stare. Even a Prosecutor Brother, as upright as he was, lived so extravagantly?

Lee Se-hyun tried his best to familiarize himself with the surroundings, looking up and down, so that he wouldn’t fail to recognize his own home later and be exposed by Park Yeonjin, which would be disastrous.

Lee Se-hyun first went to the bathroom to take a shower, changed into a new set of clothes, dressing in the style of Prosecutor Brother. Then he looked at his reflection in the mirror, a face identical to Lee Kyung-hyun’s.

Lee Se-hyun himself found it hard to distinguish, let alone others? However, upon closer inspection, one would notice that Lee Se-hyun had a more lively, sunny, and slightly playful demeanor, whereas his brother Jingxian was rigid, serious, and unsmiling.

He tried to make himself more like his brother, putting on a stern and rigid expression. Feeling a bit tired after all this, he went back and lay down on the Simmons bed.

So soft ~

His constantly tense brain finally relaxed at this moment. Lee Se-hyun quickly fell asleep to meet the Duke of Zhou.

“Mom, I know! Can you please stop nagging? My ears are almost calloused from listening!”

An impatient voice came from downstairs.

Lee Se-hyun instantly woke up!

It was his sister-in-law! Ah, no, Park Yeonjin was back!
