Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

”flower” single!Lee Se-hyun personally drove the two big stars, Kim Ji-soo and Park Chaeyoung, back to their company, YG Entertainment, located in a skyscraper within the CBD commercial center of Gangnam District.

”Oppa, what kind of work do you do?” Park Chaeyoung asked curiously. The luxurious interior of the car, combined with Lee Se-hyun’s dark blue suit, suggested he was either a business elite or a public official.

”Guess. If you guess correctly, I’ll let you… hehe… add me on Instagram.”

”Uh...” Park Chaeyoung tucked her hair back, a little embarrassed. ”Oppa must be a public official, right?”

Lee Se-hyun, while driving and chatting, turned his head and nodded at Park Chaeyoung. He hadn’t expected her to actually guess it correctly.

”Wow!” Park Chaeyoung exclaimed in surprise.

Public officials in The Peninsula have a very high social status. Doctors, teachers, and police officers, for example, are highly respected, unlike Idols like them.

In The Peninsula, although they have many fans, what good is it? Any manager or CEO can crush them, forcing them to obediently follow their commands.

”You really are a public official!” Kim Ji-soo, who was playing with Bruce, exclaimed in surprise.

”Woof!” Bruce also gave a supportive bark.

Lee Se-hyun chuckled. ”Didn’t I tell you earlier?”

It seemed that during the sweet moments before, Kim Ji-soo hadn’t paid any attention to his words.

”Hmph! What’s there to be proud of?”

”I’m a singer too,” Kim Ji-soo retorted, unconvinced.

”A singer? Have you sung any famous songs?”

Lee Se-hyun said, ”Spouting nonsense. Do you think you’re some monkey play master?”

”Besides, what’s the difference between a singer, an actor, and an Idol? Aren’t they all just things to entertain people?”

”Moragou?”

”Are you insulting us?!” Kim Ji-soo was displeased.

”You can insult my intelligence, but you cannot insult my profession!”

Kim Ji-soo’s cowlick even stood up in anger, demanding an explanation and accountability for his words. What did he mean, ’things to entertain people’??? To call them ’things’ was truly disgusting!!!

”Alright, alright, I won’t argue with you anymore.”

”You say you’re a singer. Play a song you’ve sung. I’ll listen and appreciate it.”

Lee Se-hyun turned on the car stereo and searched for Kim Ji-soo’s name. Several songs quickly appeared, such as ”Flower” and ”All Eyes On Me”... He had to admit, he hadn’t heard any of these songs. Perhaps he was uncultured and lacked experience.

”Hey! Did you sing this ’Flower’?”

”Nonsense! Doesn’t it have my name on it?!” Kim Ji-soo rolled her eyes at him.

”Flower” was her breakthrough hit. She swore it would mesmerize this big oaf in front of her!

”’Flower’ is Jisu’s breakthrough hit, you know. It’s popular all over the world, and it’s very good!” Park Chaeyoung praised.

”Really? All over the world? Why haven’t I heard it? I don’t listen to anything that isn’t DJ music.”

”Country bumpkin!”

Lee Se-hyun chuckled, no longer teasing Kim Ji-soo. He was genuinely a bit sleepy now and desperately needed some energetic music to stimulate his brain.

If he fell asleep while driving, it would be a stroke of luck (a bad one).

A rhythmic musical intro began to play.

”ABC do rei mi.”

”Mankin Bridge is fine.”

”It’s just a little bit of trouble.”

”Oh, you don’t have to go.”

Lee Se-hyun felt a sense of familiarity. Had he heard this before?

Although he didn’t recognize the lyrics, he recognized the melody and rhythm.

”I’m afraid it’s like a dragon.”

Upon hearing that line, Lee Se-hyun finally remembered. It was that musical note divine song that had been quite popular on short video platforms in his previous life.

Lee Se-hyun exclaimed in surprise, ”You sang this?!”

”What’s wrong?” Kim Ji-soo’s little head was practically in the sky.

”Alright, alright, I was blind. I, a humble man, failed to recognize Mount Tai, failed to see the true face of Mount Lu.”

”I didn’t expect you to look so small, yet be so big! I’m talking about your fame, of course.”

”Hmph!”

Kim Ji-soo, your persona has completely collapsed, scattered all over the floor. You’re not this arrogant on stage.

Park Chaeyoung, beside her, covered her mouth to prevent herself from laughing out loud. Why did these two inexplicably have such a strong ’CP’ vibe?

The journey was uneventful, and Lee Se-hyun safely delivered the two big stars to their destination.

Before leaving, they exchanged Instagram contacts.

”Bye-bye~” Kim Ji-soo waved goodbye to Lee Se-hyun, holding Bruce.

”Bye-bye, Bruce!”

After Lee Se-hyun’s car drove away, Kim Ji-soo retracted her gaze, feeling an emptiness in her heart.

”Jisu!”

”Huh?”

”Are you in love?!”

”You... what nonsense are you spouting?!” Kim Ji-soo hastily denied.

Park Chaeyoung muttered to herself, ”Idols can’t just fall in love with anyone. If fans found out, they’d be torn apart and their Idol careers would be over.”

”Who would fall in love with that scoundrel?!”

”Let’s hope not. But marrying a public official isn’t bad either. Lee Se-hyun is handsome, seems well-off, and has a respectable job.”

”Jisu, are you really not going to consider it?”

”Get lost!”

...The next day, early morning.

A beautiful day began with him waking himself up with a start!

After Lee Se-hyun finished breakfast, Park Yeonjin called out to him.

”Where were you last night?”

”Overtime. I already told you.”

Park Yeonjin looked at Lee Se-hyun suspiciously. A woman’s sixth sense wouldn’t lie to her; she immediately recognized it as a pure lie.

”Yesterday, I was out drinking with my superiors, Chief Yang from the main office, and Prosecutor Seo from the Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office. Anyway, you wouldn’t know them if I told you.”

Lee Se-hyun said impatiently. Something felt off. Why was he explaining? Park Yeonjin was only his wife in name.

To put it bluntly, even if Lee Se-hyun was out carousing, what business was it of hers, his nominal wife?

”Shixian, can you drive me today?”

”Good heavens! Didn’t you dislike riding my little donkey? You thought the little donkey was embarrassing.”

Lee Se-hyun had personally heard Park Yeonjin complain about his little donkey not just once, but many times!

She had said it was something only poor people rode, beneath her status and prestige.

”I... didn’t you just buy a new car?”

”Drive that one, or even my Porsche. Just take me to work today.”

”Please?” Park Yeonjin pleaded, blinking her big eyes, which sparkled so brightly they hurt his eyes.

”Alright, alright,” Lee Se-hyun feigned helplessness.

”I can drive you, but you have to ride the little donkey. I don’t like driving four wheels in the morning.”

”Ah... why?”

”Take it or leave it. If you don’t want to, then get lost. I have a case to handle today; I’m busy.”

”Axi! I’ll do it, I’ll do it!” Park Yeonjin conceded. A little donkey it was, better than nothing.

Indeed, women who know how to flirt are naturally lucky.

The Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office was quite a distance from the meteorological station. If Park Yeonjin’s coquettish offensive hadn’t been so strong, he wouldn’t have been willing to drive her.

Lee Se-hyun was puzzled that this hadn’t deterred Park Yeonjin’s idea. What was going on today? Had Park Yeonjin been possessed?

Seocho District, Meteorological Broadcasting Station.

”Hello, Prosecutor Li.”

”It’s truly my good fortune, my blessing accumulated over three lifetimes and eight generations, to meet you, Director Lu. You are truly magnificent and a man of great talent.”

”You’re too kind, too kind. Director Lu is also a man of great talent.”

Lee Se-hyun finally understood why Park Yeonjin had asked him to drive her. So this was her plan. She wanted him to come and show support, to cheer her on.
