Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Compromise! (Please read)Yang Dong-cheol received the call and rushed over without stopping, running several red lights along the way.

He arrived at the Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office, took the elevator to Seo Taesoo’s office, and as soon as he pushed open the door, he heard Song Baekho’s tearful voice.

”Dongzhe Ge, you must help me!”

Song Baekho pointed at Lee Se-hyun and Seo Taesoo, who were standing arm in arm, and said indignantly, ”It’s them! They used violent enforcement! Ow, my face.”

Song Baekho dramatically covered his face, wailing.

Lee Se-hyun looked at him as if he were an idiot. This *sibal* actually has a talent for acting? I never would have guessed! He was just like a primary school student in later generations calling for his parents.

He and Seo Taesoo exchanged glances, and as expected, they both burst out laughing: ”Haha~”

”Look! They’re in cahoots! They’re ganging up on me!” Song Baekho complained.

Yang Dong-cheol had a headache. The situation was a bit chaotic. He needed to clear his head first and analyze the current situation.

Lee Se-hyun took out a pack of Marlboro cigarettes, walked over, and said with a smile, ”Senior, have one?”

”I don’t...”

”Hmm?” Yang Dong-cheol looked at the luxurious lighter in Lee Se-hyun’s hand. Why did it feel so familiar? So he asked, ”This lighter of yours looks a bit familiar.”

”I think I’ve seen it somewhere before.” Yang Dong-cheol took off his glasses, carefully confirming, ”Minister Han also seems to have a lighter like this.”

”This lighter isn’t cheap, is it?” Yang Dong-cheol teased. The exact same local gold color, the exact same brand.

He knew that Han Kang-sik’s was pure 24k gold, worth one hundred thousand Xia Country Currency. He hadn’t expected this young man in front of him to also have the same model as Minister Han.

”Hmm... actually, it wasn’t that much money,” Lee Se-hyun said indifferently, ”Someone gave it to me. I didn’t spend a single cent.”

”Someone gave it to you??” Yang Dong-cheol asked, puzzled. Who was so generous? He said he’d like to meet such a friend or brother.

Suddenly, Yang Dong-cheol thought of something incredible: Lee Se-hyun knew Minister Han, and then Lee Se-hyun also had a lighter of the same model as the Minister?

Is this right?!!!

Yang Dong-cheol would be damned if he thought this was normal.

Yang Dong-cheol, who was originally preparing to enjoy Lee Se-hyun’s lighting service, now lowered his hand and asked tentatively, ”Was it... was it Minister Han who gave it to you?”

”Bingo! You got it right.” Lee Se-hyun snapped his fingers and continued, ”Too bad there’s no prize!”

Damn!

Yang Dong-cheol was so startled that the graphite king in his hand dropped to the floor. He nervously picked it up and said cautiously, ”Ah! So it’s Minister Han’s lighter.”

”No wonder,” Yang Dong-cheol looked at it carefully a few more times and said, ”The scratches on it are exactly the same as Minister Han’s. Look at my brain, I should have guessed it long ago.”

Then Yang Dong-cheol reached out his hand and bowed slightly, ”First time meeting you, if I have offended you in any way, please forgive me!”

”Chief Yang, there’s no need to be so formal!” Lee Se-hyun tossed the lighter over. Yang Dong-cheol was so startled he almost didn’t catch it, breaking out in a cold sweat.

If he were to break Minister Han’s beloved treasure of many years—ah no... it had now been given to this handsome and dashing young man in front of him—it would be a huge problem.

The three of them puffed away, and in an instant, the entire office was filled with a misty aura.

Song Baekho, on the side, grew anxious: ”Dongzhe Ge, what’s going on? Why are you smoking with them?!”

”Shut up!” Yang Dong-cheol reprimanded him harshly.

Song Baekho was dumbfounded, not knowing why Yang Dong-cheol was acting this way. He was fine on the phone, but why did he change so much when they met in person?

It was even more absurd than an online relationship turning into Qiao Biluo Dianxia.

Yang Dong-cheol tried to get closer: ”Brother Li, what about this matter? Do you want me to help you handle it?”

Yang Dong-cheol’s meaning was clear: if the matter was troublesome, he would resolve Seo Taesoo, and the credit would still largely go to Lee Se-hyun.

Lee Se-hyun waved his hand and said lightly, ”It’s already been dealt with.”

”Ah?” Yang Dong-cheol was dumbfounded. Hadn’t Song Baekho just called him to come as a monkey’s savior? How could it be over after his journey from the High Prosecutor’s Office to the District Prosecutor’s Office?

That fast?

Lee Se-hyun nodded and explained, ”Just now, Prosecutor Seo and I reached an agreement.”

”As long as Song Baekho agrees to three conditions, Prosecutor Seo will help the victim’s family negotiate to withdraw the charges.” Lee Se-hyun held up three fingers, gesturing.

”Three conditions?” Yang Dong-cheol looked at Seo Taesoo on the side. Seeing Seo Taesoo nod and not refute, he knew that this trouble had indeed been resolved.

Song Baekho was displeased and cursed from the side, ”*Siba old ma*! Three conditions? Want me to agree to those sluts? Dream on!”

”Forget three, I won’t agree to even one!”

Then there was a slap.

Yang Dong-cheol glared fiercely at Song Baekho and slapped him hard: ”*Sibal*! Do you still want to get out?!”

Like a fierce hyena, his gaze made Song Baekho feel a little uneasy. He secretly covered his red and swollen cheeks, not daring to breathe a word.

Who was Yang Dong-cheol? He knew him all too well.

Don’t be fooled by Yang Dong-cheol wearing glasses, a suit, and a tie, smiling like a refined person.

As Minister Han Kang-sik’s middleman for his dirty work, the nominal boss of the Wild Dog Gang, how could he be a good person?

The Wild Dog Gang, a top gang organization in Capital City.

Named after their leader’s expertise in training wild dogs, thus the Wild Dog Gang. Song Baekho had personally witnessed the Wild Dog Gang using ”pet therapy” to cure those who didn’t obey.

That scene was incredibly stimulating. After that experience, Song Baekho couldn’t eat for three days.

So, in this world, if you were to rank Song Baekho’s level of fear, wild dogs would be third, the Wild Dog Gang leader second, and Yang Dong-cheol, their master, first!

”Don’t listen to that brat’s nonsense,” Yang Dong-cheol said with a smile, ”Just state any demands, and we can satisfy them all!”

Seo Taesoo said, ”Alright, since Chief Yang has said so.”

”I will also state the demands on behalf of the victim’s family.”

Seo Taesoo held up one finger and said, ”The first condition!”

”Double the compensation for the victim, Lee So-hee! Raise the original fifty thousand Xia Country Currency to five million!”

Yang Dong-cheol gasped. This was too steep, wasn’t it? Not double, not ten times, but a full one hundred times!

Lee So-hee was only harassed, not going to the Western Paradise to retrieve scriptures. Was she worth that much money?

”I’ll agree on behalf of Song Baekho!” Yang Dong-cheol readily agreed. Anyway, it wasn’t his money, so why care so much?

Song Baekho felt like the sky was falling. Five million??? Selling him to the monkey country wouldn’t be worth that much money. He was probably going to be beaten to death by the old man when he got back.

”Second! Song Baekho must resign from the high school!”

”I agree!” Yang Dong-cheol nodded in agreement.

”Last condition! Song Baekho must not harass that mother and daughter again!”

”Okay.” Yang Dong-cheol nodded. This couldn’t even be considered a condition, could it? Would an oral agreement about harassment be effective? For a scumbag like Song Baekho, it was probably useless.
