Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Bruce takes us for a ride!“So, Jisu-xi, you didn’t go home so late just to save a Golden Retriever?”

“And then you stayed with a stranger whose intentions were unclear? Don’t you know how dangerous that is?!”

Even with Park Chaeyoung wearing a mask, a warm anger could be felt.

This was a scolding born of concern.

Kim Ji-soo pouted, feeling indignant, but she didn’t retort because she knew Park Chaeyoung was worried about her, which was why she was losing her temper.

It was less about losing her temper or scolding, and more about worry, like being frustrated that something isn’t meeting its potential.

“Hey!” Lee Se-hyun was inexplicably caught in the crossfire. Was he being treated as if he didn’t exist, being openly mocked?

“Compared to me, a strange man, you, a woman wearing a mask, look more like a villain, don’t you think?”

Lee Se-hyun scrutinized Park Chaeyoung: golden-brown hair, wearing a mask and sunglasses, dressed in a grey cardigan paired with black trousers, completely covered up.

Lee Se-hyun scoffed, “Do you think you’re a celebrity?! Who would bother looking at you, all wrapped up like that.”

“You…” Park Chaeyoung turned her head. Someone actually dared to mock her??? It was unbelievable.

BLACKPINK, if not globally famous, was at least incredibly popular, especially in the small Peninsula Country.

Every time they attended commercial events in various places, they would encounter a large number of fans who recognized them. To avoid trouble, wearing masks and sunglasses was standard practice.

“So tightly covered? Rushing to rob a bank?” Lee Se-hyun glanced at Park Chaeyoung’s figure again and sneered, “With your small build, you’d probably be pinned to the ground by security as soon as you reached the door.”

“Begging incessantly, shouting, ‘Peninsula people’s lives matter too.’”

Sheriff Griffin from Piaoliang Guo loved to do such things. He wondered if the sheriffs in Peninsula Country had this tradition.

“Lee Se-hyun, you are not allowed to talk about my Chaeyoung-xi like that!” Kim Ji-soo was the first to retort.

“Alright, alright.”

When hitting a dog, one must consider its owner. Lee Se-hyun couldn’t be bothered to argue with the crazy Kim Ji-soo. Given her sweet appearance, he magnanimously forgave her.

Park Chaeyoung looked at the suit on Kim Ji-soo and the ambiguous words exchanged between the two. What was going on???

Kim Ji-soo, April of the Human World, was actually so intimate with a certain strange man.

Something fishy! Definitely something fishy!

“You’re called Lee Se-hyun?” Park Chaeyoung took off her mask, wanting to see his reaction, and probed, “Hello, I’m Park Chaeyoung, Kim Ji-soo’s friend.”

“Hello.” Lee Se-hyun nodded politely.

One doesn’t hit a smiling person. Park Chaeyoung wasn’t angry despite his earlier teasing, which showed she was an emotionally stable person.

Indeed, she was Kim Ji-soo’s friend.

Sure enough, this world is an era that values looks; beauties will only be surrounded by beauties. Brother Cheng did not deceive me~

Park Chaeyoung’s style differed from Kim Ji-soo’s. Instead, she was pure with a touch of beautiful wildness and sexiness, at least she wasn’t a landing strip.

“You don’t know me…us?” Park Chaeyoung looked at Lee Se-hyun with a hint of scrutiny.

Lee Se-hyun asked doubtfully, “Am I supposed to know you…us?”

“Could it be that you are some big celebrities or important figures???”

Lee Se-hyun teased, “Why is your face so big? Don’t think you can talk nonsense just because you’re good-looking.”

Given Park Chaeyoung and Kim Ji-soo’s looks, it was indeed possible they were celebrities or Idols, but it was just a guess. What celebrities or Idols they were didn’t concern him.

Lee Se-hyun didn’t follow celebrities, let alone those from The Peninsula, so they were even more unfamiliar to him.

At most, he knew Im Yoon-ah, Jang Won-young, and… and Kwon Yong.

But these two in front of him didn’t look like Im Yoon-ah at all?!

Lee Se-hyun probed, “Could you be Im Yoon-ah?!”

“Ah…ni.” Park Chaeyoung shook her head.

“Jang Won-young?”

“Kim Tae-yeon?”

“Jung Soo-jung?”

A string of denials made Park Chaeyoung dizzy from shaking her head.

Forgive him, Lee Se-hyun knew a little about second and third-generation Girl Groups. He had read a few Peninsula entertainment novels back then, and one written by an author named Kun was quite good.

Because of this, he got to know some Idols from The Peninsula, which counted as entering that circle, but not deeply. He was purely infatuated with their bodies.

“Stop, stop! I’m not guessing anymore!” Lee Se-hyun, parched, waved his hand and said, “What kind of Idols are you exactly? Just tell me your names, and I’ll look you up online.”

Park Chaeyoung was speechless internally. It seemed the person in front of her truly didn’t recognize them. No wonder he didn’t even pay attention to Kim Ji-soo, April of the Human World; it was genuinely because he didn’t know her.

“Hey! Are you from a village?” Kim Ji-soo asked, displeased, her head held high in an arrogant, condescending manner, “Did your village just get internet? You don’t even know us?”

“We are members of BLACKPINK, the hottest Girl Group on The Peninsula right now, understand?”

Park Chaeyoung also nodded from the side. It was truly strange for someone on The Peninsula not to recognize their group.

“Oh~ I’ve heard much about you, my apologies, my apologies!” Lee Se-hyun quickly stood up and said solemnly, “Black Girl Group, right? I’ll look you up online.”

“It’s BLACKPINK!!!” Kim Ji-soo almost stomped her foot in anger, her small face flushed, “BLACKPINK, BLACKPINK, BLACKPINK!!!”

Seeing that he had stepped on someone’s tail, Lee Se-hyun quickly apologized, “My bad, my bad.”

Soon, a plethora of information about the BLACKPINK Girl Group appeared on his phone, including gossip, scandals, everything.

Lee Se-hyun clicked in and a picture of Kim Ji-soo popped up, hailed as April of the Human World, The Peninsula’s Divine Beauty, in short, almost praised to outer space.

In their group photo, he also saw Park Chaeyoung.

Lee Se-hyun pointed incredulously at the BLACKPINK group photo and asked, “This is you guys??”

“That’s right.” Kim Ji-soo appeared calm on the surface, but inwardly, she was quite smug.

“Then you’re quite famous. Can I get an autograph?”

“Hmph, want an autograph now? Too late!”

Seeing Lee Se-hyun like this, Kim Ji-soo was secretly thrilled, feeling like a goddess back on center stage.

“Give me a break, please.” Lee Se-hyun pretended to beg, saying, “April of the Human World? The Peninsula’s Divine Beauty? I’m your loyal fan, a ten-year veteran fan!”

“Pfft…” Park Chaeyoung, at the side, burst out laughing.

No way? That’s so ridiculous. They hadn’t even debuted for two and a half years, so how could Lee Se-hyun be a ten-year veteran fan?

The BLACKPINK Girl Group didn’t debut as child stars; Lee Se-hyun was completely talking nonsense.

While Lee Se-hyun was teasing… oh no, chatting with the goddess Kim Ji-soo, the Golden Retriever also perked up and was successfully rescued.

Lee Se-hyun had originally named the Golden Retriever ‘Big Yellow,’ but Kim Ji-soo disagreed, finding the name too rustic.

Finally, with a two-to-one vote, the majority ruled, and the Golden Retriever got a new name: Bruce.

This name reminded Lee Se-hyun of a meme video from his previous life, of a dog holding a steering wheel and driving, no less skilled than an experienced driver.

“Bruce! Take me for a spin!”

“Woof!”
