Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

A prosecutor who has been training for two and a half years! (Seeking monthly votes)Capital City, Seocho District, Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office.

“Hey, have you heard? The Strategy Department has a Chief Prosecutor who got promoted in two and a half years.”

“Two and a half years? What do you mean? Don’t try to piggyback on my Gege’s popularity; he hasn’t even moved in two and a half years.”

“It’s true, in less than two and a half years, he went from Prosecutor to Chief Prosecutor, like he was on a plane, rising incredibly fast.”

“That’s not riding a plane, that’s definitely launching a rocket. Do you want to go to heaven? He’s set a new record for Prosecutor promotions.”

“I’m so incredibly jealous! Where did this rich kid come from? This CS is truly despicable!!!”

In the hall, everyone was discussing, pointing fingers, some envious, some jealous, and some observing with cold eyes.

“Who are you talking about?” Lee Se-hyun grabbed someone and asked.

The person saw Lee Se-hyun and looked as if he had seen a ghost, not daring to reply, stammering: “It’s you... Ah! No, it’s not you, hello Prosecutor Li.”

Families, who understands? What’s it like to be caught by the person himself while gossiping about them behind their back?

Everyone scattered, very disloyally, leaving that person to face Lee Se-hyun alone.

Lee Se-hyun asked suspiciously: “I just heard you gossiping, that connected person is from the Strategy Department?”

The gossipmonger nodded.

Lee Se-hyun continued, asking: “Is that CS connected person surnamed Li?”

The gossipmonger nodded again.

Having gotten the answer he wanted, Lee Se-hyun suddenly flared up, grabbing the gossipmonger by the collar and fuming: “Isn’t that f***ing talking about me?!!!”

A young man came to the Strategy Department, debuted for two and a half years, progressed like drinking water, everyone envied and hated him fiercely.

The gossipmonger, frightened, said: “Gege, don’t hit me! It’s all those bastards who were badmouthing you, I didn’t say anything, at most I was just a bystander.”

He was really afraid that Lee Se-hyun would lose control of his emotions and kill him with a single punch from his sandbag-sized fist.

“Scram!”

The gossipmonger scrambled away, scared out of his wits, and ran off.

Lee Se-hyun’s face was grim as he said: “He hasn’t even become Chief Prosecutor yet, and rumors are already flying around. Which grandson is messing with him behind his back?”

As the ancestors said, ’Secrets lead to success, words lead to failure.’

Someone is trying to mess with him behind his back!

Could it be Piao Guochang? It’s a bit unlikely; even with ten times Piao Guochang’s courage, he wouldn’t dare to do such a thing. The person behind this kind of dirty trick is truly malicious.

Overnight, rumors about Lee Se-hyun being a connected person were everywhere. The power of the forces behind it is extraordinary; they mean no good!

Lee Se-hyun felt a bit uneasy. They say the unknown is the most terrifying. If he knew who it was, he’d guarantee a full-service package, saving even the coffin money.

Cutting off someone’s financial path is like killing their parents; obstructing someone’s progress is an irreconcilable enmity!

Lee Se-hyun walked into his office expressionlessly. Along the way, many colleagues, intimidated by his imposing presence, dared not gossip in front of him, but they were surely badmouthing him behind his back.

Seeing Lee Se-hyun’s grim expression, Cheng Meilan worriedly said: “Prosecutor Li, don’t take those words outside to heart.”

“It’s nothing!” Lee Se-hyun waved his hand dismissively.

To be honest, what he cared about was not the gossip from outsiders, but what the person behind this incident was trying to do. Was it because of the competition for Chief Prosecutor?

Had he touched someone’s interests? This person doesn’t even give Han Kang-sik any face? Isn’t this slapping the Strategy Department Minister in the face?

As she spoke, she handed breakfast to Lee Se-hyun, and as usual, she pouted cutely: “Today’s breakfast is Western style~”

Lee Se-hyun’s expression softened. He took the breakfast, forced a smile, and said: “Thank you, my Breakfast Hero~”

Breakfast Hero??! What kind of strange title is that?

“Prosecutor Li! I...”

Cheng Du wanted to say something, but couldn’t find the words, feeling a lump in his throat.

Lee Se-hyun patted his shoulder and said: “Hey, Cheng Du, it’s fine for Cheng Meilan to comfort me, but what are you, a grown man, doing?”

He said this, but in his heart, he still accepted Cheng Du’s good intentions.

Cheng Du whispered: “Prosecutor Li, there’s an insider in the Strategy Department! The news was first spread from our Strategy Department.”

“An insider?”

An insider! Terminate the transaction! Lee Se-hyun was so scared he almost pulled out and threw away his newly bought Samsung Note 7.

This might not be about to explode!

Lee Se-hyun nodded, said nothing, and sat back in his office chair, closing his eyes to ponder everything.

According to Cheng Du, the news came from the Strategy Department and spread to all departments of the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office. What does that indicate? There’s a bad person in the Strategy Department!

This bad person could be Han Kang-sik, or Yang Dong-cheol, or even that coward Piao Guochang; anything is possible.

Wow! So brain-burning! I feel like my CPU is overloaded. Without symmetric information, there’s no clue at all.

Lee Se-hyun calmed his mind and said serenely, he would still check today’s system refresh intelligence, and deal with other matters later.

Host: Lee Se-hyun

Identity: Prosecutor (Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, Strategy Department)

Daily Intelligence: None (Can be refreshed)

Current Version: 1.1

Lee Se-hyun looked at the virtual panel, and his sense of security instantly surged.

He was a man with a golden finger; what was there to fear from rats hiding in the dark? He would meet soldiers with generals and floods with earth!

“System, refresh for me!!”

Ding! Congratulations, Host, refresh successful. Three pieces of intelligence are as follows.

1. Deputy Minister Jiang Zhenmin of the Strategy Department is jealous of Han Kang-sik’s promotion to Minister, creating a rift between them.

2. Director Zheng of Capital City Broadcasting Station secretly enjoys painting ancient-style ink wash paintings and selling them on the market for collection. His pen name is ’Tonight I’ll Beat the Tiger.’

3. Football superstar Son Heung-min is Director Zheng’s nephew.

Lee Se-hyun exclaimed in surprise, “My goodness, two out of three pieces of intelligence are about Director Zheng. Director Zheng’s drop rate is quite high.”

Let’s talk about the first one first.

Is there a conflict between Deputy Minister Jiang of the Strategy Department and Han Kang-sik?

The system’s use of the word ’jealousy’ is very insightful. Is it jealousy that Han Kang-sik was promoted to Minister? Or did he steal the Chief Prosecutor’s wife?

Lee Se-hyun would not comment on this.

It did remind him that Piao Guochang had warned him to be careful, as he seemed to have offended a Prosecutor surnamed Jiang.

Could these two have some illicit dealings? Both surnamed Jiang, they don’t seem like good people at first glance.

Then it makes sense; it’s the rat surnamed Jiang who is backstabbing him.

To get the position of Chief Prosecutor, he needs to ruin Lee Se-hyun’s reputation. This move is truly vicious!

Lee Se-hyun no longer paid attention and looked at the next item. Director Zheng actually had a hobby of painting, which could be a point to cater to his preferences.

What Lee Se-hyun didn’t expect was that this old man, Director Zheng, was actually Son Heung-min’s uncle. This makes things interesting.

Son Heung-min is Ye-sol’s football idol, isn’t he? He could start with Director Zheng to see if there’s a chance to meet this football superstar.

After a brainstorming session and sometidy, Lee Se-hyun decided to visit Director Zheng when he had the chance.

Although he wasn’t particularly interested in the Star Prosecutor plan.

He still owed Ye-sol, the little one, a birthday present.

“Bang bang!”

A knock on the door sounded.

“Prosecutor Li! Minister Han needs to see you.”
