Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

I really want to improve! ! (Please read more)“Minister Han!”

“Minister.”

Lee Se-hyun pushed open the door and immediately saw Han Kang-sik talking to another unfamiliar Peninsula Country person.

The stranger wore glasses and a suit, looking somewhat imposing.

“Dongzhe is here?” Han Kang-sik looked at Lee Se-hyun in surprise and said, “Why are you here too, you rascal?”

This kid came just this morning to claim credit, why is he here again now?

“Minister!” Yang Dong-cheol adjusted his glasses and said, “This is the information you requested this morning.”

“Hmm.” Han Kang-sik took the documents and turned his head to ask, “Yang Dong-cheol is here to deliver materials, but why are you here again, you little scamp? Spit it out if you have something to say!”

“I still have an important guest to entertain here.”

Lee Se-hyun gave an awkward smile. He couldn’t possibly tell him he was rummaging through a trash can at the door, could he? There was a valuable lottery ticket inside, would Han Kang-sik believe him?

He would be utterly humiliated on the spot, and probably be known as the ‘Golden Jungler’ from then on.

“Minister Han, are these two your subordinates?” The stranger sitting nearby suddenly stood up and asked, “They are truly talented individuals, dragons among men.”

“Director Zheng flatters them,” Han Kang-sik said. “They’re just a bunch of rascals, silver spears with wax tips—all show and no use.”

Silver spears with wax tips? Lee Se-hyun was displeased; his spear tip could pierce the Earth!

“Let me introduce you. This is Director Zheng, the Director of Capital City Broadcasting Station.”

Han Kang-sik introduced Director Zheng to them.

“Hello, Director Zheng!”

“Hello, Director!”

Director Zheng nodded and suddenly said, “Why don’t we all sit down and talk?”

Lee Se-hyun and the others were a bit confused, looking at Han Kang-sik inquiringly, “Minister… this.”

“Sit.”

Minister Han Kang-sik’s command was like an imperial decree. Lee Se-hyun and Yang Dong-cheol sat down on either side of Minister Han Kang-sik.

“Director Zheng, there’s an old saying in Xia Country: ‘One doesn’t visit the Three Treasures Hall without a reason.’”,

“You personally came today for…” Han Kang-sik asked.

Yang Dong-cheol quickly and skillfully stood up, took the teapot, and poured tea for everyone.

Lee Se-hyun secretly marveled. As expected of someone who rose through flattery, what is professionalism? This is professionalism!

Director Zheng, an old man with white hair, as the Director of Capital City Broadcasting Station, seemed to have no connection with a Prosecutor.

Han Kang-sik also had no personal ties with Director Zheng, this being their first meeting, so everyone was very curious about Director Zheng’s purpose.

“Good tea!” Director Zheng took a sip of tea and smiled, “I came this time to trouble Minister Han for a favor for this old man.”

“I wonder, Minister Han, if you’ve heard the recent news from the Ministry of Culture?”

“Ministry of Culture?” Han Kang-sik asked, puzzled.

“Exactly!” Director Zheng took a sip of tea and said, “The Federal Government has just announced the national information age process; an era of entertainment supremacy is about to begin.”

Lee Se-hyun, hearing this, was inwardly surprised. What’s going on? This world feels strange.

“With the birth of super personal AI brains, this world will ultimately be an age of information and digitalization.”

Everyone nodded in agreement. While the words were true, no one had a clear concept of it.

What is AI, artificial intelligence, robots? It sounds high-tech and futuristic, but it’s a very abstract concept. Perhaps the future will be an era of AI.

But what does that have to do with them, Prosecutors?

These should be concerns for scientists and the President, right?

“Director Zheng.” Han Kang-sik said with forced patience, “You are an elder, please speak plainly. As long as I, Han, can do it, I will not hesitate.”

Director Zheng has been in the media industry for many years, possessing immense influence and controlling the news discourse of the Peninsula Republic. Although they are not in the same system,

Han Kang-sik was also very willing to befriend this big shot, so his volatile temper calmed down a bit.

Director Zheng stroked his beard and spoke frankly, without hiding anything: “A single word from above, and we below run ourselves ragged. The reason this old man came to Minister Han today is…”

“To seek talent!”

“To seek wealth?!!!”

Everyone was directly shocked. You, a sibal old man from the news system, came to our Prosecutor’s Office to take advantage?!!!

“The Ministry of Culture has a ‘Spark Plan’ called ‘Star Prosecutor’.”

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Why was this old man speaking so haltingly? He really scared them to death.

“Star Prosecutor?” Han Kang-sik asked, puzzled.

Director Zheng continued to explain, “To enhance the Peninsula Country’s international image, the big shots above want to cultivate an outstanding Prosecutor representative.”

“In my humble opinion, Minister Han, you are the most suitable candidate.”

Han Kang-sik remained silent, tapping his fingers on the table, deep in thought.

He was considering the pros and cons of this matter. Star Prosecutor, to put it plainly, is to launch a public mascot representative. The profession of a Prosecutor is inherently not meant to be exposed to the public.

Otherwise, many problems and troubles would arise.

Especially now that he holds a high position, considered a rising star, and one of the candidates for future Chief Prosecutor.

Han Kang-sik was unwilling to take this risk. He preferred to be a behind-the-scenes big shot, hiding in the shadows.

As for this ‘star’ thing, he didn’t find it very reliable, especially since it was a plan by some important figure. What if that important figure were to fall from power one day?

Then this so-called Star Prosecutor would probably be finished too.

It might seem glamorous, but it’s not a good job.

Han Kang-sik politely declined: “Director Zheng, I, Han, hold the position of Minister, and I have many cases to handle. I am bogged down with various matters, including personnel, for the entire Strategy Department.”

“I’m afraid I cannot undertake this task!”

“This…” Director Zheng looked a bit troubled, “Minister Han, I was too presumptuous.”

Director Zheng was merely a big shot in the news system; if it came to a direct confrontation, he was no match for the powerful Prosecutor’s Office. Therefore, he couldn’t force Han Kang-sik.

“How about this?” Han Kang-sik didn’t close the door entirely, “Elder Zheng, what kind of talent do you need? Aside from me, our Prosecutor’s Office is full of talented individuals.”

“For example, this young man right here.” Han Kang-sik pointed at Lee Se-hyun, “He has looks, and… an image.”

Han Kang-sik really couldn’t list any other advantages for Lee Se-hyun besides his good image.

Lee Se-hyun grumbled inwardly, “I’m here for my morning shift!”

Han Kang-sik made him sound like a vase, good-looking but useless.

Even though you praise my handsomeness, I still want to curse you!

Director Zheng’s eyes lit up. The image of this young Prosecutor perfectly matched the Peninsula Country public’s fantasy of a Prosecutor.

He exuded righteousness, was sunny and handsome. If he were to act in a TV drama, he would definitely be the lead, and the kind of upright character.

“What do you think, Director Zheng?” Han Kang-sik crossed his legs and said, “How is this young man? Does he meet your requirements?”

Lee Se-hyun quickly pulled out a 24k gold lighter and lit a high-grade cigar for Han Kang-sik.

“Well…” Director Zheng feigned difficulty and said, “I need to report this to the leaders above…”

Director Zheng actually didn’t have much hope for Han Kang-sik. Han Kang-sik was the Minister of the High Prosecutor’s Office’s Strategy Department, with a bright future ahead, so why would he participate in such a plan?

The leaders above were thinking too optimistically.

To be honest, he himself didn’t think much of this plan. If it weren’t for the whim of the big shots above, they wouldn’t even bother with this policy.

Now there was a decent young man, at least his looks were perfectly fine, and he was also Han Kang-sik’s subordinate, which could barely be considered acceptable for reporting back.

Director Zheng stood up and thanked him, “Then I owe Minister Han a great deal!”

“Not at all, not at all.”

Everyone stood up to see Director Zheng off. Before leaving, Lee Se-hyun also received Director Zheng’s contact information.

Back in the Minister’s office, Han Kang-sik immediately slumped in his chair like Ge You, smoking a cigar, and asked, “Shixian, you understood everything Director Zheng just said, right?”

“Under… understood.” Understood my ass!

Lee Se-hyun grumbled inwardly.

“Good that you understood. This is a rare opportunity, young man!”

Han Kang-sik blew smoke rings: “Director Zheng is the Director of Capital City Broadcasting Station, and also a big expert in the news media industry.”

“If I weren’t so busy with work and had limited energy, I would have been tempted myself.”

I believe you’re a ghost! If you were tempted, why would you let me participate?!

A pie falling from the sky? I’d sooner believe a pie falling from the sky than Han Kang-sik’s nonsense.

“Do you have any thoughts, young man?”

Lee Se-hyun hesitated, “Can I refuse?”

“Of course you can.” Han Kang-sik waved his hand, “However, your progressive thinking still needs improvement.”

After some consideration of the pros and cons, Lee Se-hyun decided to accept the task. Fortune favors the bold, after all.

Gradual promotion certainly couldn’t compare to seizing the opportunity and riding an aircraft carrier. With his intelligence system, he was confident he wouldn’t fall at the critical moment.

The intelligence refreshed by the intelligence system was generally beneficial to him. He trusted System Dad, and he trusted himself.
