Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Penguin Speed ~ (asking for monthly ticket)Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, Strategy Department indoor basketball court.

Han Kang-sik sat with his legs crossed, smoking a Cuban cigar. As far as Lee Se-hyun knew, this thing was called Cohiba, quite understated, luxurious, and meaningful.

Lee Se-hyun sat beside him, subconsciously crossing his legs as well.

Like a general, so are his soldiers. A bad soldier is just one bad soldier, but a bad general spoils the whole lot.

”Deputy Minister Jiang, I heard you were injured?”

Deputy Minister Jiang, who was beside them, had his left arm in a plaster cast and bandage, clearly having lost his King’s Left Hand. His face was pale, and his mental state was not very good.

Vice Minister? Can’t you remove the ’Deputy’ part? It really annoys him to hear it.

Upon hearing this, Deputy Minister Jiang said with displeasure, ”A little brat cut me a few days ago.”

On a dark and windy night, Deputy Minister Jiang was ambushed by the Great Han Republic’s Tachibana Ukyo on his way home. Tachibana Ukyo was dishonorable, attacking him with a single stab.

Fortunately, Tachibana Ukyo was carrying a knife he usually used for cutting fruit, otherwise, Deputy Minister Jiang would have died on the spot. Losing his King’s Left Hand was the least of it.

Thinking of this, Deputy Minister Jiang’s anger flared, and he cursed inwardly, vowing to kill the culprit’s entire family if he ever found out who it was.

”Hiss~ That’s truly unlucky,” Han Kang-sik said, feigning concern.

Han Kang-sik appeared concerned on the surface, but inwardly he was overjoyed, thinking, ’That old geezer deserved it! He’s done so many evil deeds, and now he’s finally getting his comeuppance.’

At the same time, he also felt it was a pity. Why didn’t that silver coin get killed? It was just a cut. If he had lost his King’s Right Hand, he would have arranged a royal feast for that hero.

”Minister! It’s time to play.”

Facing the jersey Yang Dong-cheol handed him, Han Kang-sik waved his hand, ”You young people play. Deputy Minister Jiang is injured, so I’ll keep him company and relieve his boredom.”

”Yes.”

Yang Dong-cheol said with concern, ”Minister Jiang, you’re getting old, so you must take good care of your health.”

Deputy Minister Jiang almost vomited blood upon hearing this. ’Sibal!’ Han Kang-sik calling him Vice Minister was one thing, but for a junior like you to directly attack him personally? Don’t you understand respecting elders and cherishing the young?!

As it was a match of king against king, general against general, since Deputy Minister Jiang wasn’t playing, there was no need for Han Kang-sik to join in the fun.

The protagonists of this basketball game were originally Han and Jiang. Bullying the weak would be meaningless.

Lee Se-hyun watched with great interest, sensing the intense animosity. It seemed the intelligence from the intelligence system was true; Han and Jiang had a significant conflict.

He analyzed that Han had likely taken Jiang’s position as Minister. Deputy Minister Jiang was senior, and it was initially expected that he would be directly promoted to Minister of the Strategy Department.

Unexpectedly, Han Kang-sik appeared out of nowhere, a young man who was excessively promoted directly from a subordinate local Prosecutor’s office to the position of Minister.

The Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office had personally recommended him, leaving Deputy Minister Jiang speechless.

Deputy Minister Jiang also had a backer, Vice Minister Jiang, but it was clear that the Chief Prosecutor was more powerful than the Vice Minister.

In the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, positions are divided as follows: Chief Prosecutor (the top leader), Vice Minister, Minister, Vice Minister, Chief Prosecutor, and Prosecutor.

Lee Se-hyun pondered, if the Deputy Minister Jiang in front of him was the mastermind behind this, then this matter would be very difficult to handle.

He was just a small Prosecutor, not even a Chief Prosecutor. This kind of god-tier, cheat-enabled situation was not something a small fry could get involved in.

Could he only grit his teeth and swallow his grievances?

Lee Se-hyun truly couldn’t stand this humiliation. He cursed inwardly, ’Why didn’t the Great Han Republic’s Tachibana Ukyo kill this trash?!’

Suddenly, a rhythmic, dynamic music started playing.

”A? ah.”

”Listen boy...”

A group of cheerleaders in athletic outfits walked to the center of the stage, dancing with youthful energy.

Lee Se-hyun’s jaw dropped. ’My Jerusalem, what’s going on?!’

Didn’t they say they were going to play basketball? How did it turn into ’continue the music, continue the dance’? They even brought out a Girl Group.

The pure-looking girl leading the Girl Group, holding a microphone, began to sing clearly.

”My, angle, Im girl ~”

”My, sunshine ~”

As the song began!

Among the crowd, some young Prosecutors recognized the Girl Group members and exclaimed in surprise, ”Girls’ Generation!!!!”

”Girls’ Generation?”

Slightly older Prosecutors, like Han Kang-sik, didn’t recognize any ’dog-skin’ era. In their eyes, all celebrities looked the same.

They only distinguished between pretty and not pretty.

The younger generation of Prosecutors, more or less, knew a bit or had heard of them, though not like the brother who just spoke.

He was probably an SNSD fan, a fanboy in his younger days.

At this moment, the young Prosecutor felt embarrassed. The incomprehension of the people around him, a Prosecutor being so out of control, was a disgrace to them.

”This is Im Yoon-ah! The visual of Girls’ Generation! The youth of my university days!”

Indeed, she was the youth of some people. He still remembered that summer, a slice of watermelon, QQ Speed, and the music of SNSD starting up.

Most of those present were middle-aged and older, with a minority of young people. Even if someone like Lee Se-hyun knew, they wouldn’t dare to say anything.

Didn’t they see Han, Jiang, and others frowning, looking displeased?

Lee Se-hyun shook his head. ’This guy is really embarrassing. Is Girls’ Generation very famous? Is Im Yoon-ah very famous?’ Hmm... it seems she actually is very famous.

”Oh! oh! Let’s go.”

At the center stage, in the C position.

Im Yoon-ah pointed at Lee Se-hyun and began to sing.

”Namu namu mocheo, nuni nuni busyeo ~”

”Sum makhil deuthan tteollim ~” (It’s so cool, so dazzling. So tense I can’t breathe, trembling.)

Hiss~

Lee Se-hyun listened to the familiar music, as if awakening a sleeping beast within him. The basketball in his hand dropped to the ground.

He was shocked, thinking, ’My goodness, could he have transmigrated to the set of If You Are The One?’

This intro, this voice, ’Please choose your favorite female guest’?!

Lee Se-hyun carefully scrutinized the Girl Group members on stage. The most striking girl in the center, wasn’t that Xiahou Qingyi? She had acted in a TV series about Historical figure.

It was melodramatic, but he was young and ignorant then, and loved watching it.

Her name is Im Yoon-ah, right?

Im Yoon-ah sang and danced, and suddenly noticed a gaze fixed intently on her.

Im Yoon-ah searched for the owner of this gaze and found that Lee Se-hyun not only didn’t restrain himself but was staring at her thighs. She glared back fiercely.

There were also perverts present, but with leaders and colleagues around, they would be more restrained, unlike Lee Se-hyun, this lecher, who kept staring at people’s legs.

”Jiggy Jiggy ~ Baby Baby ~”

When it reached the climax, it instantly ignited the entire venue.

”Jiggy Jiggy ~ Baby Baby ~”

Lee Se-hyun nodded. ”This is it! It’s so authentic!”

”Eotteoke haji? Tteollin mameun ~” (What should I do? My trembling heart ~) A pure yet passionate girl, standing in the C position, sang.

”Neomu banjjak banjjak nuni busyeo.”

”No No No No.”

”Oh Oh Oh Oh ~”

”Neomu jjarit jjarit momi tteollyeo, Gee Gee Gee Gee...”

The song ended, burning bright!

Lee Se-hyun’s evaluation was, ’More burning than the anime!’

Clap, clap, clap. Someone started clapping, and applause echoed throughout the entire gymnasium.

It was you, good sir! The fanboy Prosecutor from earlier led the applause.

Lee Se-hyun joined in the clapping. At this point, shouldn’t the male guest be invited onto the stage? The atmosphere was gradually becoming twisted and strange.

Lee Se-hyun shook his head. ’What am I thinking? These are the pillars of the Great Han Republic, the cornerstones of society, Prosecutors!!!!’

”Im... Im Yoon-ah!”

”Mworago?” (What did you say?)

”Can I have your autograph?!”

Whose subordinate is this?! So brave!!!

Lee Se-hyun was stunned, and everyone else was shocked too.

No? There really is a male guest?!
