Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Xu Taixiu’s Weakness! (Please read it later)Capital City, Seocho District, Eastern Prosecutor’s Office.

“Prosecutor Li, we’ve arrived.”

Lee Se-hyun remained silent, currently looking at the system’s virtual panel.

“Host: Lee Se-hyun”

“Daily Intelligence: None (Pending Refresh)”

“Would the Host like to refresh today’s intelligence?”

“Refresh!”

“Ding! Refresh successful!”

“Daily Intelligence: Daewoo Group President, Chairman Kim, evaded taxes totaling one billion xia country currency... (One piece of evidence)”

Lee Se-hyun gasped, one billion xia country currency? Are you sure this isn’t The Peninsula’s currency?!!!

Daewoo Group?

Lee Se-hyun carefully read the material, his expression gradually becoming strange.

This Chairman Kim of the Daewoo Group was actually Seo Taesoo’s father-in-law, the father of Shangxi, the female lead in the drama “The King.”

This was going to be fun.

This evidence of tax evasion was enough to send Seo Taesoo’s father-in-law to prison for life, never to come out again.

For Seo Taesoo to have reached his current position as a Prosecutor in the South Korea...

Who would believe he had no background or connections?

If he remembered correctly, Seo Taesoo drove a supercar, worth at least a million xia country currency, and lived in a large villa with its own swimming pool.

This was beyond anything Lee Se-hyun could compare to, especially since Seo Taesoo had only started working a few months ago.

A Prosecutor’s salary wasn’t enough for his daily expenses; were his house and car acquired legitimately?

What a kept man, Seo Taesoo.

Lee Se-hyun composed himself, “Taixiu, Taixiu, you’d best be sensible and not force my hand!”

“I really don’t want to be the bad guy!”

Their unpleasant parting yesterday clearly showed that Lee Se-hyun had not given up on the matter.

As soon as he got hold of dirt on Seo Taesoo’s father-in-law, he rushed to the Eastern Prosecutor’s Office.

Lee Se-hyun made his way to the lobby, took the elevator to the seventh floor, and arrived at the door of Seo Taesoo’s office in the Criminal Department, where he heard an argument.

“Suspect Song Baekho, I advise you to surrender honestly and confess your crimes truthfully.”

“Perhaps I can still show leniency and apply for a reduced sentence for you.”

“Prosecutor, are you crazy? Biting everyone you catch?”

“Sibal! What a mad dog trying to make a name for himself.”

“You...”

Hearing this, Seo Taesoo genuinely wanted to kill the arrogant Song Baekho in front of him, but due to Song’s background, he didn’t dare to easily inflict torture or act rashly.

“Taixiu, good morning.” Lee Se-hyun pushed the door open, greeting with a smile, “Oh, interrogating a criminal?”

Lee Se-hyun saw Song Baekho sitting opposite Seo Taesoo and thought, what a coincidence today. Both key figures were here, which would make things easier.

Seo Taesoo was surprised at first, not expecting Lee Se-hyun to come again. Had his attitude yesterday not been clear enough?

“Senior Li, what brings you here?”

Lee Se-hyun found a chair and sat down, casually saying, “You two carry on! Pretend I’m not here, continue the interrogation, continue the show.”

Seo Taesoo rubbed his forehead; Lee Se-hyun was probably here to back up Song Baekho.

“Senior Li, Song Baekho’s case is handled by me exclusively; other Prosecutors have no right to interfere,” Seo Taesoo warned.

“Even if you are a Prosecutor from the High Prosecutor’s Office!”

Why do people say that Prosecutors in The Peninsula have boundless power?

The reason lies here: once a case is taken on by a Prosecutor and they are independently responsible, others cannot interfere.

It doesn’t matter if you are from the Police Station, the council, or another Prosecutor from the High Prosecutor’s Office, it’s useless.

Lee Se-hyun waved his hand, signaling Seo Taesoo not to rush, “I know.” Then he pointed to Song Baekho, who was fiddling with his fingers, “After all, I was entrusted by someone, so I have to put on a show.”

Put on a show?

Song Baekho stopped his childish finger-fiddling and haughtily asked Lee Se-hyun, “My dad sent you?”

Lee Se-hyun nodded, not denying it.

Song Baekho immediately felt emboldened and arrogantly said, “Then I can leave, right?”

“Want to leave?” Seo Taesoo grabbed Song Baekho by the collar.

Song Baekho wasn’t annoyed; he turned and, with a very punchable expression, said to Lee Se-hyun, “Hey! Aren’t you a Prosecutor from the High Prosecutor’s Office?”

“How can you not handle a small Prosecutor from the local Prosecutor’s Office?”

Song Baekho then shook his head, provocatively saying, “My dad must be senile to send such a useless Prosecutor.”

Alright, alright, Lee Se-hyun now wished he could slap Song Baekho twice.

Lee Se-hyun also stood up and walked step by step to Song Baekho’s side, signaling Seo Taesoo with his eyes to let go.

Although Seo Taesoo didn’t understand his intention, he still let go under duress.

Song Baekho patted his sleeve, looking triumphantly at Seo Taesoo.

Lee Se-hyun grabbed Song Baekho by the back of his collar, lifting him completely, which scared Song Baekho into screaming, “Hey, hey, hey! What are you doing?!”

Can you imagine that scene?

One person forcefully lifted another hundred-pound man two meters into the air. Oh my goodness, Song Baekho exclaimed, “I have acrophobia!” He was so scared he almost wet himself.

Seo Taesoo and the others watched dumbfounded. Usually, Lee Se-hyun seemed refined and scholarly, a cultured scoundrel, but when he acted, he was not at all hesitant.

Is this natural divine strength?

Is this the strength a person should have?

Lee Se-hyun warned, “If you hadn’t been born to a good father, I’d find you disgusting even to feed to stray dogs.” He patted Song Baekho’s face, “Understand?”

With such humiliation, Song Baekho didn’t even dare to retort, pleading, “Please... please, for my father’s sake!!!”

Seeing that his intimidation had achieved its purpose, Lee Se-hyun directly put down this piece of trash.

He took a tissue and wiped his hands. Song Baekho was sweating quite profusely; he must be quite deficient.

Seo Taesoo quickly came over, afraid that Lee Se-hyun would directly drop Song Baekho to his death. While that would be satisfying, it would also cause a huge problem.

“Senior Li, calm down a bit!”

Lee Se-hyun smiled slightly, replying, “I am a Prosecutor; I won’t act recklessly. I’ll just use some improper methods, don’t worry!”

Who would believe that? If you say such a thing, who here would believe it?

If it weren’t for seeing Changwei beating Laifu as soon as you entered, one might actually believe you couldn’t fight.

Changwei: I really can’t fight!

Lee Se-hyun: I just have natural divine strength!

Who says a Prosecutor can’t have overwhelming physical power?!!!

Seo Taesoo was stunned. I don’t believe a word of it.

If he hadn’t just seen him lift Song Baekho into the air, he would have really believed Lee Se-hyun’s nonsense.

“Senior Li, did Song Baekho’s father really ask you to come?” Seo Taesoo asked.

“Yes.”

Lee Se-hyun nodded helplessly. He didn’t want to do this either, but Song Baekho was too foul-mouthed; he deserved it!

Do you really think you’re your dad?

To put it bluntly, you’re just a second-generation slacker, living off your family. Your dad is a Councilman, yes, but he’s the kind who’s about to retire, gradually moving away from the center of power.

A retired person is worse than a dog.

With Song Baekho’s arrogant personality, once Councilman Song retires, he’ll likely be targeted for revenge by his enemies.

Song Baekho is like a grasshopper in autumn, with not many good days left.

“The King” also illustrates this point: later, Gaehwan beat Song Baekho into a eunuch, and Gaehwan only served a few months in prison.

Who doesn’t know Gaehwan is Seo Taesoo’s man?

Seo Taesoo didn’t lose a single hair, had no problems whatsoever, and even arranged a reduced sentence for Gaehwan, getting him out early.

Why didn’t Han Kang-sik and the others say a word?

Nothing, of course. Councilman Song, this retired old man, couldn’t compare to a young, promising Prosecutor.
