Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Cheng Du: Can I give you some instructions?! (Seeking monthly votes)”Boss, you’re not being honest. How dare you sell a fake for a million US dollars?”

”Are you trying to trick me like a semida?”

Aren’t you a semida?

The Little Old Man looked at Lee Se-hyun in confusion, then retorted, opening his mouth to speak, ”Where did this arrogant person come from? Be careful, or I’ll sue you for defamation!”

”You can eat whatever you want, but you can’t say whatever you want!”

Zhao Shengji walked over and pointed, saying, ”You claim this is a sunset wild geese painting?”

”High peaks and steep willows, a water pavilion by the river, with a person sitting in the pavilion, gazing at the sunset glow and lone wild goose, accompanied by a young attendant behind him.”

Zhao Shengji nodded, muttering to himself, ”The imitation is indeed very similar! Unfortunately, it’s not a genuine work by Tang Baihu.”

”Kid? I warn you, don’t talk nonsense here.” The Little Old Man secretly thought, ’This doesn’t look good. It seems an expert has arrived.’

Lee Se-hyun was no small figure. If he were to truly realize he had been scammed, then the Little Old Man would have no leg to stand on.

Lee Se-hyun smiled and said, ”And who might this friend be?”

”Zhao Shengji!”

Could this be the legendary ’showing off and face-slapping’ trope? This person in front of him is probably some reclusive genius, a treasure appraisal genius!

Lee Se-hyun asked, puzzled, ”How do you assert that this painting is a fake?”

Zhao Shengji said confidently, ”I’ve been in the treasure appraisal industry for two and a half years, and I’ve never been wrong!”

”If I wasn’t 100% certain it was a fake, I wouldn’t expose it.”

”Years ago, in Edinburgh, Xia Nation, I was fortunate enough to see this ”sunset glow and lone wild goose painting.” You say yours is real?”

”Then the one in the Edinburgh Museum is fake?”

Edinburgh City Museum?!!

The Little Old Man panicked, and retorted guiltily, ”You... you’re talking nonsense! Even if the one in Edinburgh is real, why can’t mine also be real?”

”Can’t an artist paint two identical works?”

Clearly, he was panicking. Only he knew that this painting was bought from a Peninsula semida for a mere hundred US dollars.

He had been planning to swindle a rich fool and make a huge profit.

Seeing that Zhao Shengji had actually seen the real thing, he naturally broke down.

”Someone! Get this smooth-chinned fellow out of here!!!” the Little Old Man shouted loudly.

Soon, two or three big men heard the commotion and surrounded Zhao Shengji. It seemed he wouldn’t be leaving without losing a layer of skin.

Updates are not easy, remember to share 101kanshu.com.

The Little Old Man said maliciously, ’I can’t deal with that Prosecutor, but I can deal with you, you greenhorn!’

In the antiques industry, the biggest taboo is to expose the truth in front of the seller. Not getting a beating for that would be considered lucky.

Zhao Shengji was slightly flustered. He hadn’t achieved his objective for coming here today and absolutely couldn’t afford to be beaten up.

”Wait!”

Lee Se-hyun suddenly spoke, ”Boss, I know you’re in a hurry, but don’t be in a hurry yet!”

”Don’t always threaten people and talk about killing their whole family. The Peninsula is a society of laws. Are you treating us like a joke by doing this?”

Beating someone in front of a Prosecutor is like an old man eating arsenic—are you tired of living?!

Upon hearing this, the several strong men, seeing that the Prosecutor had spoken, didn’t dare to act recklessly and stopped their movements for a moment.

The Little Old Man felt as uncomfortable as if he had eaten arsenic. He must not have checked the almanac before leaving today; how did he manage to provoke such a powerful figure?

The Prosecutors of The Peninsula were still relatively friendly. If it were the Jinyiwei of ancient times, they could be confiscating his property right now.

”Yu Wu, Yu Wu~”

A siren blared, and several cars stopped at the entrance. The onlookers at the door, their first reaction was that there was more excitement to watch.

The police cars were mobilized with such a large presence; this incident must be quite significant.

”Robber, come out!!!”

A swaggering voice. Everyone looked to see a strong, stout man, leading a group of police officers.

Lee Se-hyun was stunned. Who was this guy? Why wasn’t it Police Chief Cao who came?

Could it be that the dispatcher didn’t hear clearly? He had even announced his identity, yet they still did this. It seemed they didn’t want to advance in their careers.

”Sibal old ma!” Captain Ma scanned the scene and immediately understood the situation.

He looked at Lee Se-hyun warily. His male sixth sense told him that this person was dangerous! Super dangerous, like an atomic bomb.

”Police Chief! I’ve been waiting for you, hoping against hope, and you’re finally here!”

The Little Old Man saw his savior. His short legs ran quickly, and he hid behind Captain Ma, pointing, ”Him! It’s him! Without any reason, he just came in and tried to steal my most prized possession.”

”The ”sunset glow and lone wild goose painting,” Police Chief, do you know? This painting is worth a million US dollars.”

A million US dollars?!!! Siba old ma, that’s a big fish!

Captain Ma looked at Zhao Shengji with burning eyes and said scornfully, ”You little brat, with your thin arms and legs, you dare to be a robber?!!!”

Me? Zhao Shengji? A robber?!!!

Zhao Shengji’s face turned ugly, and he retorted, ”Boss, don’t talk nonsense! Be careful, or I’ll sue you for defamation!”

”I just spoke a little too much, helping this kind person expose your fake, and you’re slandering me?”

In the Peninsula Republic, the police’s deterrence is still very strong. For the public, the police are who they often deal with, and in their hearts, the police are more fearsome than Prosecutors.

”Police Chief, arrest him! Don’t listen to his sophistry! Give him a few blows and he’ll be honest,” the Little Old Man said, distorting the truth.

”You...”

Zhao Shengji was fuming. He knew the nature of the Peninsula Police Station; some people might indeed, without distinguishing right from wrong, just start hitting. Then, he would truly have no way to explain his suffering.

Captain Ma shook his head. ’Do I look like that kind of insect?’

”You’re the one who called the police, right?”

”Yes, yes, yes, it was me!”

Captain Ma nodded. ’Then there’s no problem. Let’s take them back first.’

The truth? He’d find out after a few punches.

”Put silver handcuffs on all of them, and those two next to them, you’re coming along too.”

”Us?”

”Yes, you!”

Lee Se-hyun calmly said, ”I thought you were treating us like air.”

”?” Captain Ma was usually very irritable. Hearing someone provoke him, he walked over aggressively.

”What did you say?”

Lee Se-hyun sneered, ”Which Police Station are you from? Who is your superior? Which department?”

He was very surprised why Cao Wenxi hadn’t come, and instead, it was this big fat man in front of him. Was the Police Station dispatcher deaf?

Not putting him, a Prosecutor of the Great Han Republic, in their eyes? These scoundrels really needed a good lesson.

Captain Ma stopped his taser, and asked cautiously, ”Who are you?”

”Standing in front of you is...” Cheng Du skillfully pulled out his ID and said coldly, ”Prosecutor Li of the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office!”

”Prosecutor’s Office? Prosecutor Li... Prosecutor?”

”You’re a Prosecutor?” Captain Ma looked at the excessively young Lee Se-hyun with suspicion.

The relationship between the Police Station and the Prosecutor’s Office was not very good. People like Captain Ma particularly disliked Prosecutors, feeling that Prosecutors just knew how to drink coffee and show off every day.

Due to the immense power of Prosecutors, Captain Ma couldn’t directly detain the person.

He still dared to detain him? If Lee Se-hyun found out, he would surely give him a slap, making him understand who was the master and who was the dog.

Captain Ma didn’t want to get involved with Prosecutors, so he shouted, ”Retreat!”

He prepared to take Zhao Shengji and the Little Old Man away for interrogation to meet his performance targets.

”Wait!” Lee Se-hyun spoke out, stopping Captain Ma and his team from leaving.

”What’s your badge number?” Lee Se-hyun questioned, ”How can you handle a case by just arresting people without distinguishing right from wrong?”

”Is this how your Chief taught you to handle cases?”

Not only did this Little Old Man cheat and swindle, but Zhao Shengji also spoke up for him, exposing the scam. He absolutely couldn’t be taken away like this.

Moreover, this Captain Ma seemed a bit oblivious to his standing. Which police officer sees a Prosecutor and doesn’t show fear or try to curry favor?

Are you ’emerging from the mud unstained’ or something?

He had never seen such an arrogant person!

”What’s wrong, Prosecutor, sir? Are you going to invite me, Old Ma, for coffee?” Captain Ma said impatiently.

”Prosecutor Li, when he asks you a question, you answer!” Cheng Du threatened, ”I warn you, don’t be mischievous!”
