Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Sister-in-law’s birthday (asking for monthly ticket)Lee Se-hyun looked at Park Yeonjin with some apology; first, he had wrongly suspected his sister-in-law of being pregnant out of wedlock in high school, and second, he hadn’t brought Ye-sol a birthday present.

Is it acceptable for an oppa to forget his Sister-in-law’s birthday?

Park Yeonjin didn’t blame Lee Se-hyun, as he was an impostor and couldn’t possibly know it was Ye-sol’s birthday today.

She herself had been negligent and forgotten about it.

”Lights off, lights off!”

Lee Se-hyun called out to everyone, placing eight candles from the birthday kit onto the cake, and pulling out the lighter Han Kang-sik had given him. It glittered exceptionally brightly in the dark environment.

”Wow, oppa, your lighter is even shinier than a sapphire! Is it also made of gems?” Ye-sol stood on a stool, while Lee Se-hyun, bending at the waist beside her, lit the candles.

”No, it’s 24k pure gold.”

”Gold?!”

Everyone was shocked. They hadn’t expected such an ordinary-looking lighter to be gold-plated? If Lee Sara hadn’t been mistaken, the brand of this lighter seemed quite famous.

It was a renowned luxury brand from Pretty Country. Lee Sara looked at Lee Se-hyun with confusion. Hadn’t they said Park Yeonjin’s husband was an upright, honest man?

What kind of honest Prosecutor uses a lighter worth 100,000 xia country currency?!

”Then can you give it to Ye-sol?”

”Nonsense!” Park Yeonjin immediately slapped away Ye-sol’s hand as she reached for the lighter.

”What does a child need a lighter for?”

Ye-sol pouted unhappily: ”If I don’t want it, I don’t want it! Why are you being so fierce!”

After a small interlude, Ye-sol celebrated her first eighth birthday.

Although Ye-sol didn’t have her father’s company, she had many older brothers and sisters who loved her, and Ye-sol felt very happy. She didn’t want a father at all.

Lee Se-hyun took the lead, singing the birthday song with great effort: ”Happy birthday to Ye-sol ~”

”Happy birthday to you ~”

Everyone sang in unison: ”Happy birthday, Ye-sol ~~~”

Ye-sol wore a small crown, with a bit of cake on her face—Lee Se-hyun’s doing—and looked at the playful crowd with a joyful expression.

”Ah! Ah!!! Oppa! What are you doing!” Park Yeonjin angrily picked up a piece of cake and threw it at Lee Se-hyun’s face.

Lee Se-hyun instantly became a cat-faced mess, still laughing, ”Yeonjin! You’re really ruthless! You’re trying to murder your husband!”

”Heh heh.” Park Yeonjin wiped the cream from her face with a towel, sneering, ”How amusing.”

Lee Sara, seizing the opportunity, took the cake in her hand and handed it to Lee Se-hyun, giving Park Yeonjin a mischievous smile, while also feeling very jealous internally.

Lee Se-hyun shouted, ”Yeonjin, I have a big surprise for you, look here!”

Park Yeonjin heard him and turned around, only to be accurately hit on the forehead with cream, becoming a crazy, cream-covered cat-face mess.

”Ah ah ah!!! You hateful Lee Se-hyun, stop right there!”

Park Yeonjin directly grabbed a piece of cake with her hand and chased after Lee Se-hyun, ready to give him a cream facial.

Lee Se-hyun ran while mocking Park Yeonjin, shouting and yelling, and the scene quickly descended into chaos.

Mother Hong shook her head from the side. These young people, truly... *Thump*. Lee Se-hyun dodged with a flash, and Mother Hong was hit by Park Yeonjin’s cream cake.

Alas!!! Young people, no martial virtue, how could they accidentally injure an old lady like her?!

The scene was a mess... The next day, early in the morning, after Lee Se-hyun had finished washing up, he went downstairs and looked at the crime scene from yesterday. He shook his head; it was time to hire a nanny. Relying on Park Yeonjin, this lazy person, was a bit risky.

She was too lazy to even go to work, her daily job consisting of whether it would rain today or not, and then it was over.

Basically, relying on having a Prosecutor as a husband, Park Yeonjin avoided all the miscellaneous tasks at the meteorological station.

Lee Se-hyun set off early in the morning for a 4S dealership in Gangnam District, where he bought a high-end Volkswagen Passat. With the backing of money and power, the 4S store manager immediately transformed into a sycophant.

He could pick up the car the same day he bought it, and the license plate was also issued on the same day. Before he left, the 4S store manager specially fawned over him.

”Mr. Li, if you have any questions about cars in the future, please feel free to consult me.”

”Thank you.”

Lee Se-hyun opened the car door, stomped on the accelerator, executed a stylish drift, and smoothly drove out of the 4S dealership lobby, onto the street, speeding all the way.

He was going to be late for work today, no time left, old driver, get in the car quickly!

The manager watched Lee Se-hyun’s elegant driving skills. ”As expected of our Prosecutor from the South Korea, that drift was absolutely superb!”

A salesperson next to him asked curiously, ”Manager, isn’t this against the rules? How can a car be picked up and registered on the same day? This...”

”Sibal!!” The manager flicked the salesperson’s head, ”You idiot, no wonder you’ll be a salesperson your whole life!”

”He’s a Prosecutor of the South Korea, a Prosecutor! Do you understand, you unobservant fellow!”

The salesperson rubbed his reddened head, grumbling internally, *What are you so proud of? You act like you’re the Prosecutor.*

The reputation of Prosecutors in the South Korea was truly resounding.

The salesperson’s childhood dream was also to become a Prosecutor. It could be said that every young person in the South Korea had such a dream; Prosecutors had high salaries and power.

Once you became a Prosecutor, even if you were a beggar before, you would directly cross class boundaries.

Unfortunately, ideals were beautiful, but reality was cruel.

Just passing the judicial examination, which was known as hell and the most difficult on The Peninsula, easily weeded out a large number of people.

Out of tens of millions of people in the Peninsula Country, only about two thousand became Prosecutors.

Which Prosecutor wasn’t an outstanding talent, not someone like him, a mere salesperson who hadn’t even made it to university, could fantasize about... Less than ten minutes later, Lee Se-hyun arrived at the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, where there was a stranger in his office.

”Prosecutor Li!”

”Prosecutor Li, hello!”

Lee Se-hyun looked at Yang Dong-cheol, who was wearing glasses and smiling, as Yang Dong-cheol introduced himself.

”Nice to meet you, please take care of me. My name is Yang Dong-cheol.”

”Hello!”

The two extended their hands in greeting.

As Yang Dong-cheol sized up Lee Se-hyun, both of them were also sizing up each other.

Yang Dong-cheol’s first thought was that Lee Se-hyun was truly very young, and handsome, with the appearance of a sunny young man.

This kind of look usually made one a protagonist or a righteous person in movies, giving others the impression of a good person at first glance.

Lee Se-hyun also pondered internally, *Is this squinty-eyed man wearing glasses Yang Dong-cheol, Han Kang-sik’s right-hand man?*

Yesterday, he had been complaining to Han Kang-sik that Yang Dong-cheol was a sycophant; he hoped the man himself hadn’t heard.

Otherwise, he would offend Yang Dong-cheol, this smooth-talking eunuch, and pillow talk would be inevitable.

Lee Se-hyun was the first to ask, ”Senior Yang, why do you have time to visit me today? The sun must have risen from the west.”

”Heh heh.” Yang Dong-cheol pushed up his glasses and said, ”Prosecutor Li is truly too humorous. Can’t I come if there’s nothing wrong?”

”Taking care of juniors is a big responsibility for us seniors, especially since I’m your old senior from school, aren’t I?”

Lee Se-hyun graduated from Seoul University’s law department, and Yang Dong-cheol did too, so they were indeed alumni, and ’senior’ was perfectly fine.

”Senior Yang, you were also a Seoul University student?” Lee Se-hyun feigned surprise, though he already knew. It was just to play along with the charade.

He wanted to see what trick Yang Dong-cheol had up his sleeve.

”Minister Han has a tricky matter that requires your help, junior.”

”Since it’s Minister Han’s command, I, Li, will naturally not shirk. Please speak!”

”This matter is a long story. Councilman Song’s son, Song Baekho...”
