Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1828: Chapter 1731: Both Mentor and Friend

Wei Zhongtian explained the whole situation regarding Ge Xinming to Gu Xu, revealing that it was all Ge Xinming’s doing. The magazine was implicated due to him. Now he has dismissed Ge Xinming, and Nanhua will issue a statement to cooperate with Yangcheng Weekly to apologize and clarify the previous reports about Huo Sining’s donation fraud scandal.

After learning about Ge Xinming’s actions, Gu Xu certainly wouldn’t let Ge Xinming leave easily. Due to this person’s deceit, his wife suffered significant grievances. Being protective of his wife, Gu Xu wouldn’t let Ge Xinming off easily.

Therefore, after leaving Nanhua Daily, Ge Xinming went to more than ten magazine and newspaper offices seeking jobs but found none willing to take him in. These outlets, upon seeing his resume, avoided him like the plague, fearing any association with him.

Ge Xinming never expected that a momentary mistake would render him unable to survive in the journalism industry.

At this point, it was too late for him to regret; the mistake was made. Gu Xu, on his side, would never tolerate anyone targeting his wife. If it weren’t that ”Nanhua Daily” had acted sensibly at the critical moment by cutting ties, he would have taken the whole publication down.

After dismissing Ge Xinming, Wei Zhongtian promptly responded not only by publicly apologizing to Huo Sining on the official blog but also attributing everything to Ge Xinming, showing that the magazine had already dismissed him and would never employ him again.

Simultaneously, ”Nanhua Daily” also reposted several video reports from ”Yangcheng Weekly” regarding Huo Sining, praising her heroic deeds in rescuing people in the earthquake disaster area, acting like a sycophant trying hard to please Huo Sining.

With this, Huo Sining’s fans finally calmed down and stopped flooding the official blog of ”Nanhua Daily” with comments.

Huo Sining’s rescue deeds in the earthquake-affected areas were also made public, with more people coming forward to testify for her — earthquake disaster victims rescued by Huo Sining, eyewitnesses among the affected community, and staff and actors from ”The Legend of the Mermaid” crew. These people all expressed that after the earthquake, Huo Sining did not leave Meishan with the rescue team but stayed to participate in local rescue activities.

In an instant, the wind changed direction, and no one ran to Huo Sining’s Weibo to insult her anymore. Netizens began apologizing for their behavior, admitting they were manipulated by Ge Xinming and had believed the media’s reports, thus attacking such a quiet female hero.

However, amid the praise, there were doubts, raised by Professor Nie Dechang’s student Chen Mengxin. This female doctor reposted ”Yangcheng Weekly”’s clarification video about Doctor Fang Zhiming on Weibo, tagging Huo Sining, and posted three question marks, questioning Huo Sining with a strange tone:

Saving lives is certainly praiseworthy, but can I ask Miss Huo, when did you become my master’s student? Using someone else’s name seems quite inappropriate, doesn’t it?

In a sea of praise, this sudden Weibo post attracted significant attention.

Because Chen Mengxin’s Weibo is professionally certified, it showed she was a student of Professor Nie Dechang;

And Fang Zhiming clearly stated in Zhao Qihui’s interview that during the disaster relief process, he and Huo Sining helped each other to treat a child with coagulation dysfunction, and during the treatment, Huo Sining used a special medicine developed together with her master Nie Dechang.

But now Chen Mengxin publicly stated that she does not know Huo Sining and that Huo Sining was not a student of Professor Nie Dechang.

Now everyone was confused, wondering what was going on. Was Huo Sining deliberately lying, or were all of these incidents fabricated by her?

Ge Xinming, facing obstacles everywhere, was quite happy seeing the situation, thinking his chance for a comeback had arrived. He wanted to call some friends in the circle to help him find and investigate Chen Mengxin’s contact information.

Unexpectedly, before he could reach Chen Mengxin, a reporter had already directly interviewed Professor Nie Dechang.

Initially, Nie Dechang didn’t know about the online situation. After the reporter explained the purpose, he burst into laughter and excitedly asked the reporter:

”Did Huo Sining really tell others she is my student? That’s wonderful, finally giving me the leverage I needed. Let’s see how that girl will refuse me now!”

The reporter, hearing Nie Dechang’s words, was stunned and asked in confusion, ”Someone pretends to be under your name to deceive outside, and you’re not angry? Why do you sound happy?”

Nie Dechang explained with a smile, ”If it was someone else, I would definitely pursue responsibility, but if it’s Huo that girl, I’m more than happy. Huo Sining has exceptional talent in medical achievements. In fact, as early as two years ago, I had proposed several times to take her as my student. Over these two years, I asked her about this many times, but she never once agreed.”

”In these two years, under her hands, she treated several special patients with complex illnesses that I and other experts found extremely tricky, yet she managed to cure them.”

”I am quite older than her, but in terms of medical skills, her expertise in some areas might be higher than mine. Our relationship is more like a mentor and friend; to truly determine who is whose master is uncertain. Therefore, her admitting outside that she is my student is something I wished for, why would I be angry?”

After hearing Nie Dechang’s words, the reporter was amazed, but adhering to professional ethics and morals, the reporter uploaded Nie Dechang’s telephone interview tape online.

This recording release left netizens stunned, and even Chen Mengxin, who previously doubted Huo Sining’s identity, fell silent and dared not challenge or express dissatisfaction towards Huo Sining anymore.

After such a debacle, netizens gradually became more rational. Many began realizing that online bullying is a terrifying thing and that an ordinary person’s words and actions online can easily be exploited.
