Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1822: Chapter 1725: Senior Reporter

As soon as Huo Sining heard the voice on the other end of the phone, she laughed, ”Xiao Fan, can you tell who I am?”

The person on the other end initially sounded listless, but upon hearing Huo Sining’s voice, they suddenly became excited, their breathing turned rapid, and after a few seconds of stunned silence, they stammered uncertainly, ”Beautiful sister... are you... Miss Huo?”

Huo Sining laughed, ”Just call me beautiful sister if you want, no need to be nervous. Did you all get home safely?”

Xiao Fan and the other kids, along with their teacher, were from Paradise City. This time, they were supposed to go to Meishan for an art trip with their teacher, but unexpectedly encountered such an event. The kids were instantly terrified, and if it weren’t for their teacher’s calmness and quick thinking, who gave them a push, they might have been buried in the rubble.

Xiao Fan nodded, ”Yes, we were sent back that very night. When are you coming back, beautiful sister?”

Huo Sining said, ”I came back yesterday. How’s your teacher doing now?”

Upon hearing Huo Sining mention their teacher, Xiao Fan choked up, ”Still under observation in the hospital. The doctor said the leg could be saved, but needs to stay for at least another month to be out of danger. Full recovery might take at least half a year.”

Huo Sining said nothing, but secretly sighed.

If that female teacher hadn’t encountered her then, she might have been dead by now. Huo Sining spent quite a bit of spiritual energy to pull the teacher back from the brink of death and helped repair the nerve damage in her lower limbs, so she wouldn’t be paralyzed for life.

But because Huo Sining was also focused on rescuing others at the time, she didn’t fully heal the teacher. The shattered bones in the teacher’s lower limbs were left untouched. After all, with today’s medical technology, as long as the treatment is proper, restoring shattered bones is not that difficult. So, Huo Sining didn’t waste more spiritual energy unnecessarily.

However, if hospitalization for half a year is needed, it seems that the teacher’s injuries are indeed severe.

Oh well, being able to save a life is already considered lucky.

Huo Sining didn’t dwell on it and directly stated the purpose of her call:

”Here’s the thing. I’ve been shooting a film in Meishan, and our crew is planning a charity performance. We plan to donate the collected funds and supplies to the earthquake-stricken area. I intend to perform a magic trick, and I’m looking for some people to assist me. You and your friends are survivors, which makes you perfect for this event. So, I wanted to ask if you’d be willing to help me out?”

Xiao Fan always regarded Huo Sining as a goddess and idol. Now hearing that he could collaborate on stage with his idol and contribute to the disaster area, he was eager to agree without much thought.

”Of course, we can. When is the charity performance? When should we go? Sister, you just arrange it for us, and we’re at your service anytime.”

Seeing Xiao Fan’s eager expression, Huo Sining found it amusing, ”Aren’t you going to discuss it with the others? I need five people; your consent alone doesn’t count.”

Xiao Fan pounded his chest confidently, ”Don’t worry, sister. I’m speaking for them too. They definitely won’t refuse such a good deed. Even if there are objections, I have ways to persuade them. Rest assured.”

Huo Sining said, ”Alright then, I’ll leave the task of convincing them to you. I’ll make the arrangements, and once a time is set, I’ll book your plane tickets and send the details to your phone.”

The reporter from ”Nanhua Daily,” named Ge Xinming, held the title of a special correspondent and was the director of the Nanhua Newspaper Interview Department. He was quite renowned at ”Nanhua Daily” and had a high status.

Ge Xinming had a keen perspective, with both capability and a vast network. Recently, he’d seen many interviews, including donations and disaster relief reports on celebrities and public figures, and wanted to write something unique.

To this end, Ge Xinming went through a lot of trouble to get Huo Sining’s phone number.

His initial intent was to interview Huo Sining, hoping to get firsthand information on how much she would donate, thinking that exaggerating such news would definitely attract a lot of attention.

After all, in Ge Xinming’s view, given Huo Sining’s wealth and status, along with her husband’s family’s reputation in the Imperial Capital, she was bound to donate significant amounts. Perhaps in the range of tens of millions, which would be quite sensational.

Ge Xinming held himself in high regard, assuming his position at ”Nanhua Daily” and his reputation would earn him some respect from Huo Sining.

However, to his surprise, although the call did go through, and indeed it was Huo Sining on the line, she was very unceremonious over the phone, not showing a hint of courtesy, and not only scolded him but also hung up abruptly.

After being hung up on, Ge Xinming tried calling back, only to find the line unreachable, leaving him feeling both embarrassed and angry, his face turning different shades.

A reporter passing by noticed Ge Xinming’s changing face color and assumed he wasn’t feeling well, and asked out of curiosity, ”Director Ge, are you alright? Are you feeling unwell?”

Ge Xinming shook his head, indicating he was fine, but the shadow and venom in his eyes couldn’t be concealed.

Since joining the journalism industry, no one had ever embarrassed him this way, making Ge Xinming deeply angry, and he began harboring resentment against Huo Sining.

His gaze fell upon a news article, where he saw the words ”fraudulent donation” and immediately curled his lips into a sinister smile.

Meanwhile, unaware of this episode, after hanging up on Xiao Fan, Huo Sining eagerly called Liu Cheng, asking him to arrange matters for the few kids, while she threw herself into the operation of the foundation.

Although Badasang’s funds hadn’t fully arrived yet, Huo Sining had no concerns about Badasang backing out, as she trusted his integrity. So, after returning to the Magic Capital, she didn’t urge but waited patiently.

Nevertheless, to her surprise, just a couple of days after her return to the Magic Capital, she received news from Wu Jun.

”Are you serious?!”

Wu Jun nodded, ”He’s already on his way. General Bada insisted on coming and is bringing a batch of supplies, saying it’s a token of his goodwill.”
