Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1826: Chapter 1729: Reversal

So, Huang Hanyun saw such an article on the official blog of the Yangcheng Weekly.

“When Will Moral Kidnapping Stop? Restoring the Real Miss Magic”

At first glance at the headline, Huang Hanyun, like other netizens, thought that Yangcheng Weekly was using Huo Sining as a gimmick, casually writing an article to catch the audience’s eye.

But after clicking on it, Huang Hanyun immediately smiled. Yangcheng Weekly, daring to confront public opinion, wrote such a report to criticize those violent phenomena on the internet, and it turned out there was really something substantial dug up.

When this article first came out, it didn’t make a big splash online. It was just an article, anyone could write one, and it quickly got lost in the vast sea of internet content.

Moreover, because Yangcheng Weekly adopted the usual step-by-step approach used by magazines, it did not release any video at first, so most netizens, upon seeing the article’s title, naturally thought Yangcheng Weekly had been bought off, saying good things about Huo Sining, and hence the comments below the article were all curses.

However, Huang Hanyun noticed this article. She understood the weight and style of Yangcheng Weekly and knew that since they dared to publish this article, it proved they had more important evidence in hand.

So, Huang Hanyun wasted no time in calling Huo Sining, sending her the link to this article, and telling her to wait patiently.

Since Huang Hanyun could see this report, Chen Yu, being in the publicity department, certainly wouldn’t ignore such a turnaround. She quickly notified Gu Xu, who made some calls, and soon, this report was shared by several official Weibo accounts.

In no time, public opinion began to subtly shift.

Ge Xinming, naturally, did not miss this situation. At first, he thought it was Huo Sining paying to guide public opinion, puzzled that Yangcheng Weekly would engage in such activity. But when he saw that “People’s Daily” also shared this article, he realized something was amiss.

With a skeptical attitude, Ge Xinming clicked on the article, and upon seeing what was written, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow.

The article stated that on the day of the earthquake, Huo Sining did not leave the disaster area, but stayed in Qingya and didn’t leave until ten days after the earthquake. During these ten days, she was involved in rescue work in the disaster area.

This piece of writing was plain and unadorned, without any embellishment, written by Zhao Qihui in the simplest and most truthful tone of a bystander. However, those survivors in the earthquake disaster area could most feel the hardship and bitterness within it.

Ge Xinming felt a chill in his heart, vaguely realizing that this time, he was terribly wrong.

However, as a special reporter and a key member of the magazine, the head of the interview department, a mistake he absolutely couldn’t make was fabricating. He knew that the news he exposed about Huo Sining’s fraudulent donation was a fake news he made himself, but under these circumstances, he would never admit it.

Moreover, he held on to a fluke mentality, always thinking that Yangcheng Weekly writing such a report was likely a crisis PR from Huo Sining, without actually any evidence.

Therefore, he immediately reacted, prompting the editorial department to question “Yangcheng Weekly” on the official blog: If Huo Sining was really in the earthquake disaster area for rescue, why didn’t she mention it on Weibo, and why has no one come forward with evidence proving that Huo Sining was still in the disaster area three days ago?

Ge Xinming considered his question sharp and believed that “Yangcheng Weekly” definitely couldn’t provide evidence because he couldn’t believe that someone as delicate as Miss Huo, a wealthy young lady worth over a billion, would stay in such a dangerous earthquake area for ten days. It was too fake.

However, this self-righteous assumption of Ge Xinming was quickly slapped in the face by “Yangcheng Weekly”.

After getting a response from the “Nanhua Daily”, “Yangcheng Weekly” responded in less than half an hour. This time, what they exposed was no longer text but videos.

A video of about ten minutes was released. At the start of the video, a couple appeared, with the man claiming to be a policeman from Meishan Police Station, recounting the events after the earthquake, where he and three colleagues, along with Miss Magic, rescued people. Later, three more police officers appeared, each displaying their police ID to prove that what they said was absolutely true.

Once this video was released, the internet was in an uproar.

The keyboard warriors who had been adamant about punishing Huo Sining all fell silent and disappeared without a trace.

Half of Huo Sining’s fans had unfollowed her overnight, but now discovered that their idol was slandered by the “Nanhua Daily”. They felt both ashamed and angry, embarrassed by their actions that day and frustrated for being used by the “Nanhua Daily”. As a result, these fans began to fight back, directing all their fury at the “Nanhua Daily”, leading to the newspaper being overwhelmed.

Ge Xinming was also dumbfounded, and only after watching the video uploaded by “Yangcheng Weekly” did he realize he was truly wrong. But he still wanted to argue, claiming the video was made with the help of paid actors by Huo Sining and “Yangcheng Weekly” to appease the netizens.

However, to “Yangcheng Weekly”, Ge Xinming’s attempt to refute was nothing more than a futile struggle.

In the following hours, Yin Hong instructed the editorial department to release a short video every half hour. These videos were all bits of evidence that Zhao Qihui found in Qingya throughout the day, each featuring people who had contact with Huo Sining after the earthquake.

The parents of a child with a coagulation disorder, Fang Zhiming from the rescue team, along with other doctors, two children surnamed Hua and several villagers from downstream of the West City Reservoir, and rescue force members Yang Chensheng and Meng Jinlong, all agreed to Zhao Qihui’s request to stand up for Huo Sining, proving that during this period, she was indeed carrying out rescue operations in the earthquake area and saved many people, making it possible for several people trapped under the ruins to escape a life-threatening crisis.

With every video release, the shock among the vast number of netizens deepened, and so did the guilt for having previously insulted Huo Sining. Many started to reflect, realizing they were used by those with ill intentions, serving as the razor in a campaign of internet violence.
