Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1819: Chapter 1722: Su Qingqing the Nouveau Riche

Huo Sining could already foresee the expressions of the security guards once they woke up, realized someone had infiltrated the museum, and then rushed to the warehouse to find the two Dongyang ninjas tied to stone pillars. Just imagining it made Huo Sining find it very amusing.

Returning to the Magic Capital, it was already the ninth day since the earthquake. Once Huo Sining and Gu Xu got off the plane, they saw a group of familiar people waiting at the airport exit: Huang Hongying and her husband, the Su family siblings, Bai Yishan, the Wu Jun siblings, Luo Jinzhi, Qin Shui, Zheng Huaqing, and Zheng Lixiang. Huo Sining was startled when she first saw the crowd, thinking that something had happened.

”Ningning, you’re finally back. If you hadn’t returned, Sister Yishan and I would have gone to Meishan to find you!”

As soon as Su Qingqing spotted Huo Sining, she couldn’t wait to rush over and wrap Huo Sining in a tight hug.

Huo Sining glanced at the crowd at the arrival gate. Their eyes were filled with deep concern and relief.

Feeling a warmth in her heart, Huo Sining smiled and said, ”Aunt, Uncle, thank you for worrying about me. I’m fine.”

”It’s good that you’re back, just good to have you back.”

Huang Hongying’s eyes were red as she held onto Huo Sining’s arm, reluctant to let go. ”You’ve probably not been eating or sleeping well while you were there. Look at how much weight you’ve lost. Let’s go home, I’ve bought a lot of your favorite dishes to cook you a big meal.”

Huo Sining nodded. Indeed, she hadn’t been eating well in the disaster area. When she could occasionally rest, she’d just shove some bread, buns, or packaged food into her mouth. She hadn’t had a single hot meal and was busy with search and rescue and providing emergency treatment to survivors. Having witnessed so much life and death, her appetite was gone, and naturally, she had lost weight.

After eating at the Su family home, Huo Sining didn’t rest. She immediately called Wu Jun, Gu Xu, and Su Jinyuan together to discuss disaster relief.

The funds from Badasang had arrived, and Huo Sining didn’t plan to delay. Such a large sum of money wasn’t easy to allocate effectively. Huo Sining hoped to use a third of the funds to purchase supplies and distribute them. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the disaster area also required money. Her funds should genuinely reach the hands of every disaster victim, rather than filling the pockets of some corrupt officials.

”In addition, I saw many children lost their parents and had no schools due to the earthquake. I hope to establish new schools and private welfare institutions in other unaffected regions of the Shu region to accommodate these children, providing them with schooling opportunities and living guarantees until adulthood,” Huo Sining suggested.

Gu Xu nodded, thinking it was a good idea. However, Su Jinyuan objected, ”This is a massive project, verifying whether these children have truly lost their parents is not easy, and some might exploit the situation to embezzle aid funds.”

Gu Xu frowned, contemplated for a few seconds, and then said, ”There’s a solution. Contact the education bureau and the principals of various schools. Without disclosing our sponsorship plan, first, gather data on the students’ disaster situations. This way, we can prevent most fraud cases.”

Su Qingqing was shocked by Huo Sining’s generous donation, ”Ningning, are you donating all this money? At least save some for yourself!”

Seeing Su Qingqing’s pained expression, Huo Sining laughed, ”I don’t lack for anything, so saving it would be useless. Besides, I have someone to take care of me, so I have no use for saving that much money.”

Saying this, Huo Sining didn’t forget to glance at Gu Xu. Gu Xu agreed wholeheartedly, ”Rest assured, cousin, even if my wife spends all our money, I can still support her in the future.”

”Uh...”

Su Qingqing was stunned by Gu Xu’s audacious ”cousin,” and after a few seconds said, ”Even though I call you brother-in-law, I’m a bit younger than you, yet you call me cousin, isn’t that too much? Do I look that old?”

”What else?”

Gu Xu raised an eyebrow and laughed, ”Would you rather I call you sister-in-law so eagerly?”

Su Qingqing’s heart skipped a beat, she peeked at Wu Jun, felt embarrassed, averted her gaze awkwardly, and then angrily glared at Gu Xu before turning to Huo Sining, ”Hey, Ningning, control your husband, he’s being too much!”

Huo Sining glanced at Wu Jun, who looked quite uncomfortable and blushing, while Su Jinyuan seemed displeased, apparently not satisfied with his sister’s chosen partner.

Huo Sining chuckled, ”Okay, let’s talk business. Regarding school reconstruction, the government will surely allocate funds. Our money shouldn’t be spent on redundant tasks, it should be used wisely. The elderly and children are our top priorities for disaster relief this time.”

Bai Yishan, who hadn’t spoken, chimed in, ”Ningning, we can’t compare our income to yours, but we hope to do our part. I’ll transfer my share to the Beauty Fund.”

Huo Sining was taken aback, and Su Qingqing quickly agreed, ”Me, too. I’ll donate.”

Huo Sining laughed, ”You too? But you’re not working; do you even have savings?”

Su Qingqing, feeling indignant, retorted, ”Don’t underestimate me. Over the years, my New Year’s money and birthday gifts have accumulated into a tidy sum! Just wait!”

Without waiting for a response, Su Qingqing hurried off to her room and soon returned with a passbook, ”Look, it’s all here, I’ll donate it all!”

Su Qingqing, a daughter of a prestigious family, was already cruising around in a BMW when Huo Sining first met her in S City. It was hard to believe Su Qingqing had no money in her hands. If she didn’t have money, she wouldn’t be going to Antique Street to hunt for treasures every now and then.

However, flipping through Su Qingqing’s passbook, Huo Sining was surprised.

It unknowingly held nearly nine figures. Baffled, Huo Sining asked, ”Where did you get all this money?”
