Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1823: Chapter 1726: Badasang Comes to the Magic Capital

When Huo Sining thought about standing with those national leaders at the airport to welcome the Myanmar General with a fake smile, she felt a headache coming on and couldn’t help but sigh:

“What is Badasang up to, coming over at this time? Isn’t this just adding to the chaos?”

Upon hearing Huo Sining’s comment, Wu Jun immediately realized she had misunderstood, and quickly explained, “General Bada also wants to avoid trouble, so he specifically instructed me not to inform anyone else. He’s planning to come quietly. It seems he hasn’t informed anyone else, and Secretary Su and the others probably don’t know about it either. Moreover, General Bada wants to visit Qingya, which I haven’t agreed to yet.”

Huo Sining was taken aback; she hadn’t expected Badasang to be so considerate about this. However, she quickly furrowed her brows and said:

“He wants to go to Qingya too? That’s a bit tricky. The international rescue team incident just passed, and it’s a sensitive time. Given Badasang’s special status, he’d definitely need approval from higher-ups to visit the disaster area. Never mind, there’s no rush. Let’s go pick him up at the airport first.”

Wu Jun nodded. He had stayed in Magic Capital for the Beauty Fund matters and, upon receiving instructions from Huo Sining, drove to her villa shortly after. They hurriedly headed to Rainbow Airport.

At the airport, they didn’t have to wait long before the flight carrying Badasang arrived. Soon, Badasang and two tall bodyguards emerged from the gate.

“Long time no see, Badasang.”

Huo Sining approached with a smile and shook hands with Badasang.

Badasang, upon seeing Huo Sining, softened from his usually serious demeanor and even displayed a slight smile in his eyes: “It’s indeed been a while. Since last time, Miss Huo, you’ve gotten married in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, I was occupied with important matters at that time and couldn’t attend your wedding.”

Badasang looked regretful, and the amusement in Huo Sining’s eyes was more evident: “What are you saying? The gift you gave for my wedding was the most precious, and it almost scared us. The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea jade carving you gifted is still stored in my warehouse; I haven’t dared to take it out yet.”

When Huo Sining and Gu Xu married, Badasang wasn’t there in person, but he sent a gift that shocked the guests.

It was a large glass-grade jadeite piece, intricately carved with the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, the figures vividly lifelike. Combined with the jadeite’s transparency and brilliance, the whole piece was both grandiose and precious, captivating anyone who laid eyes on it.

Others only knew it was expensive, but without a clear idea of its exact value. However, since Huo Sining worked in the jadeite industry, she understood its worth better.

If this piece were auctioned, the starting bid would be at least eighty million. Such a precious gift, sent as a wedding present, naturally left Huo Sining astounded.

Initially, she tried to refuse it, but given Myanmar’s firm attitude, even receiving calls from Badasang’s father to persuade her, she had no choice but to accept the favor from the Bada Family, all the while remembering to return the gesture with a significant gift at a later opportunity.

This was one reason why, after the earthquake, she decided to sell all her shares in the jadeite mine. On one hand, she was indeed short of money; on the other, she wanted to repay the big favor to the Bada Family this way.

Yet, what she hadn’t expected was for Badasang to personally come to Magic Capital and also bring supplies.

After bringing Badasang to his hotel, Huo Sining had a conversation with him. The Myanmar General was deeply concerned and saddened by the massive earthquake in Huaxia Country and wanted to visit the scene in person to understand the situation in the disaster area thoroughly.

Unable to dissuade him, Huo Sining reluctantly called Gu Xu for assistance. Gu Xu, more capable than her and knowing the close relationship between Huo Sining and Badasang, trusted the Myanmar General’s character. After some thought, he agreed and said he would make arrangements.

That afternoon, news came from Gu Xu; he and Wu Jun would personally accompany Badasang to visit Qingya.

Entrusting Badasang to Gu Xu, Huo Sining felt assured. She decided to take a step back, leaving Gu Xu to lead Badasang to Qingya.

After spending a day in Qingya, Badasang returned with a very serious expression, now looking at Huo Sining with admiration and respect rather than doubt:

“Miss Huo, I finally understand why you’re willing to risk such great losses and sell such a large jade mine to our family. I initially suspected there might be issues with the mine, and I apologize for doubting you. But our family supports so many people, and we can’t afford mistakes, so I had to come see for myself. I’m truly sorry.”

“I understand. There’s no need to apologize. If I were in your shoes, I might have had doubts too,” Huo Sining replied with a smile.

However, Badasang shook his head: “No, I apologize because I used my petty mindset to wrongfully judge a truly selfless individual. Miss Huo, I genuinely admire you. As a woman, you’re willing to make such sacrifices for your compatriots, selling such a large jade mine and even willing to give up everything. Frankly speaking, even in my position, I might not have handled it with such ease. Human desires are infinite, and being able to let go of these material things makes you far more noble than people like us!”

Huo Sining laughed, “You mentioned your family depends on you, while I am just one person, unburdened and fearless. Besides, no matter what, I still have my husband who won’t let me starve or be homeless.”

Saying so, Huo Sining glanced at Gu Xu, who was standing nearby, with a serene smile.

Badasang looked at Gu Xu, paused for a moment, then said, “Mr. Gu has a broader mind and generosity than most men. If it were someone else, they might not be able to stand watching such a large sum slip through their wife’s fingers without resentment. But Mr. Gu remains calm and composed, which is admirable.”

Gu Xu wrapped an arm around Huo Sining: “In life, you must follow your heart at least once. Besides, what’s the point of earning so much money if not to spend it happily? I support her decision. Whether money is plenty or scant, it doesn’t concern me.”

Listening to this, Badasang couldn’t help but give Gu Xu a thumbs-up, secretly admiring how suited the couple was for each other.
