Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 796: Chapter 792: Meeting Again at the Airport

Wang Zhongwei returned home in a daze, and that’s when Hu Youmin’s call came:

”Boss Wang, didn’t you say that little Miss Huo was going to gamble on stones? How did it go? Did she make a fool of herself?”

Wang Zhongwei’s mouth worked silently for a moment, unsure of how to begin. Finally, he let out a sigh and said, ”Old Hu, before we talk about this, can you tell me where you got that brick of jadeite raw stone that was hidden inside the counterfeit material?”

Hu Youmin was somewhat puzzled. He couldn’t understand why Wang Zhongwei would suddenly ask about that brick of raw stone, but he still carefully recalled in his mind. Unfortunately, that brick had been chosen at random, and he had never paid any attention to it—how could he possibly remember where it had come from?

”That was a long time ago; I can’t remember now. Anyway, it was a brick of raw stone that I reclaimed from someone. Such things are usually the garbage that those Myanmar material dealers have been unable to sell for years. It’s not worth anything. Why? Why are you asking about this all of a sudden?”

Upon hearing this, Wang Zhongwei thought to himself, as expected, that brick of raw stone was something Hu Youmin had gotten from those people from Myanmar.

At this moment, Wang Zhongwei felt conflicted. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Worthless? If it was truly worthless, how could Miss Huo Sining have gambled such an exquisite pigeon blood red out of it? Hu Youmin truly was sitting on a treasure without knowing it.

Wang Zhongwei bitterly smiled to himself, having mocked Hu Youmin, he couldn’t help but want to mock himself as well.

What right did he have to laugh at Hu Youmin? Hadn’t he himself missed the mark just as badly? Including that pigeon blood red and the piece of gold-threaded jadeite, all of it had been in his place at that time. If he had known the value of these items, he wouldn’t have parted with them for merely two hundred thousand.

Wang Zhongwei felt like his heart was bleeding. He had been concerned about Hu Youmin not being able to handle the shock and hadn’t planned on telling him the truth. Yet Hu Youmin kept pressing, and Wang Zhongwei, annoyed, decided not to hide it any longer, and blurted out everything he had seen at Dianshifang today.

After hearing about it, Hu Youmin’s mind went blank, and he was totally stunned.

At that moment, a spark of recollection lit up his mind, his memory’s box flung open, and the details about that brick of raw stone suddenly came back to him.

A few years ago, he went to Myanmar, planning to smuggle a batch of raw stones back. He stayed at a local’s house, where the family was so poor that a child of seven or eight had to gnaw on roots for food.

Moved by compassion at that time, Hu Youmin gave the child a loaf of bread he had brought from his home country. The child, delighted after eating the bread, then found a stone from somewhere and insisted on giving it to him as a gift.

Hu Youmin hadn’t taken the stone seriously because households in that area of Myanmar generally had a stockpile of bricks of raw stone. Hu Youmin mistook that stone for another such brick and included it in the batch of raw stones he was smuggling back to Mindong.

Afterward, he slowly sold off the smuggled raw stones until only a few dozen bricks remained unwanted. Hu Youmin then stored them in a warehouse without much thought, until Wang Zhongwei came to him, and he casually picked one out, worked on it a bit, and inserted it into the Black Oosh as filler.

Now, Wang Zhongwei told him that the brick material he had never taken seriously was not a Jadeite Raw Stone at all, but a Gemstone Original Mine. From that broken raw stone, the woman surnamed Huo had extracted two to three hundred grams of Pigeon Blood Red, leaving Hu Youmin utterly unable to accept it.

His face turned deathly pale, lips quivering, unable to utter a word for a long time. Wang Zhongwei could hear the anxious and rapid breathing on the other end of the phone. Then, Hu Youmin let out a neurotic laugh. It started as a soft chuckle but eventually turned into a loud, uncontrolled laughter, interspersed with sobs, before the call was abruptly cut off by the person on the other end.

Wang Zhongwei felt an indescribable mix of emotions, as if a bottle of mixed flavors had been knocked over inside him. How many schemes had Hu Youmin devised, deceiving and cheating others? Because his counterfeit raw stones were so expertly crafted, countless experienced stone gamblers had been fooled by him.

Wang Zhongwei used to admire Hu Youmin’s fakery skills, but now the only thing that came to his mind were two words: karma.

This might just be the heavens’ retribution for Hu Youmin’s actions over the years. He had never discovered what the Gemstone Original Mine truly was in all the years it had been in his possession. If he hadn’t been set on committing fraud, he would have seen the Pigeon Blood Red hidden inside if only he had ground the stone a mere inch deeper.

But he never did. In order to perfectly match the size of the Jadeite extracted from the central part of the Hei Wusha, he only smoothed out the corners and removed a thin layer from the surface. Fate played a joke on him, letting him passingly brush against this magnificent gem time and time again, until he ultimately handed this treasure away with his own hands.

What Hu Youmin felt, probably only he himself knew. As for whether this matter would end here, no one could be certain, but Miss Huo Sining couldn’t be concerned with all that.

After finishing the stone gambling process in the morning, Huo Sining and Zhong Zifan went to the security company introduced by Yang Wen. They signed a security agreement, entrusting the Pigeon Blood Red and Gold-threaded Jadeite to the full care of the security company.

Having taken care of these matters, Huo Sining didn’t delay any longer. In the afternoon, she and Luo Jinzhi boarded the flight back to S City.

Two hours later, the plane landed at Rainbow Airport of S City, and Huo Sining finally felt a solid sense of reassurance, like coming home.

Descending from the plane, she couldn’t help but take a deep breath. Seeing Huo Sining do this, Luo Jinzhi couldn’t help but laugh and said, ”Right, no matter how dazzling it is outside, isn’t it the most comfortable to come back home?”

Huo Sining nodded and, pulling Luo Jinzhi, began to walk out. Unexpectedly, just a few steps away from the airport exit, they bumped head-on into several people nearby.

”Miss Huo Sining?” The man opposite her seemed surprised. His eyes flickered with a subtle gleam before he looked at Huo Sining with a smile and asked, ”It really has been a long time, Miss Huo. Are you returning from Fuzhou?”

Huo Sining looked at Fujiwara Seiho with some surprise. Judging by how the group was carrying luggage, they must have just gotten off a plane. It seemed very likely that she and her companion had been on the same flight as these people.

”Mr. Fujiwara, it’s been a long time,” Huo Sining said with a smile, nodding to Fujiwara Seiho.
