Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 758: Chapter 754: The Great Underwater Collector

However, these were not Huo Sining’s concerns. What she needed to worry about now was whether these sunken ships had already been visited by others and, if not, whether they might contain treasures aged by the years.

Thinking of this, a tickling sense of curiosity immediately struck Huo Sining. She was about to move closer to the nearest sunken ship when unexpectedly, at that moment, her gaze caught a dark shadow flitting past her.

This shadow was the giant Sea Turtle that Huo Sining had been tracking all along. The Sea Turtle seemed not to notice Huo Sining standing not far away, and so it did not exhibit any alertness. Instead, it swam leisurely towards the sunken ship.

It was not until the Sea Turtle reached a giant sunken ship, about twenty meters in length, that Huo Sining felt puzzled. The Sea Turtle went straight to one of the circular oar holes on the ship, counted them one by one, and stopped in front of the seventh hole, then squeezed into it with an odd posture and disappeared from sight.

Huo Sining was stunned and subconsciously followed, arriving at the circular hole where the Sea Turtle had entered.

This hole was for the ship’s oars, and its diameter was less than one meter. The Sea Turtle had barely managed to get through, but Huo Sining, being small in stature, could easily enter through the hole.

However, not wanting to startle the Sea Turtle, Huo Sining did not do so. Instead, she touched her hand to the submerged hull and activated her Heavenly Eye, attempting to use the Heavenly Eye Skill to trace the Sea Turtle’s whereabouts.

The method proved effective, and it wasn’t long before Huo Sining located the giant Old Turtle in a corner of the ship’s cabin. She had thought the Old Turtle had come into the ship to look for Tridacna, but to her surprise, she found the Old Turtle curled up at the bottom of the cabin, seemingly about to sleep.

This made Huo Sining both annoyed and amused, hardly knowing whether to laugh or cry.

She told herself that she had wasted her efforts trailing the creature, deciding not to entangle herself with the Old Turtle any longer. She was about to turn around and search through the remains of the other sunken ships when her gaze suddenly fell on a wooden chest where the Sea Turtle was curled up.

The chest was large; the lid was nowhere to be seen, but the body of the chest was so big it could fully accommodate the giant Old Turtle.

The Old Turtle was crawling inside the chest, its limbs curled beneath its shell and its neck retracted inside, lying in the chest as if readying for hibernation.

If Huo Sining didn’t have the Heavenly Eye, she probably would not have noticed anything strange about this chest, just seeing it as a nest found by an Old Turtle. But just now, through the Heavenly Eye, she clearly perceived something unusual beneath the Old Turtle inside the wooden chest.

Feeling that something was off, but with the Old Turtle too far from the hole and the range of her Heavenly Eye Skill limited, Huo Sining could only see through the layers of rotten wood of the sunken ship’s remains vaguely. She knew something was being pressed under the Old Turtle’s shell but couldn’t make it out clearly.

With suspicions in her mind, Huo Sining naturally sought to find out the truth. So she stealthily entered the cabin through the hole, quietly approaching the bottom of the cabin where the Old Turtle was resting.

The cabin had long been so eroded by the sea that it was rotting and fragile. Huo Sining was extremely careful, trembling for fear a misstep would cause the ship to give way and disintegrate completely.

After a lot of effort, she finally drew close to the Old Sea Turtle. Without any hesitation, she directly transported it into her Space without a word.

There was no helping it. The creature was sleeping after all; how could she have the heart to wake it?

Someone didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty or ashamed; on the contrary, she acted with full entitlement, simply because the Old Sea Turtle was gentle and didn’t dare to settle accounts with her.

After taking the Old Turtle into the Space, Huo Sining looked down and saw the turtle’s den and the contents of that weathered, beaten chest.

But this one glance shocked Huo Sining.

Good gracious! She wondered why this Old Turtle had traveled so far to find such a concealed hideout. It turned out that the critter was so cunning because of these things!

No matter how vivid her imagination, Huo Sining could never have guessed that the Old Turtle was actually a master collector!

Indeed, in this chest, there were all kinds of collectibles, including porcelain, gold bars, necklaces, and unprocessed natural pearls and gems. Although none of these items were large, there were dozens of them in total, all jumbled at the bottom of the wooden box.

Seeing this array, Huo Sining was completely stunned. She instinctively squatted down, picked up each item in the chest to examine them one by one, while the Water-Repelling Pearl kept flickering, confirming that all these items were genuine—each one a valuable antique treasure.

Huo Sining was torn between laughter and tears. The Tridacna she had found earlier was one thing—after all, it was said that sea turtles ate sea clams, so it wasn’t strange that the Old Turtle hoarded the Tridacna. But what was up with these antiques? What could a turtle possibly want with such a collection of antiques? To act as a miser?

The provenance of these genuine antiques didn’t need to be spelled out for Huo Sining to guess—they must have been scavenged by the Old Turtle from the surrounding shipwrecks.

Even a turtle had a larger collection than hers, and each and every piece was authentic, not a single fake among them. Had this guy turned into a spirit?

Huo Sining felt her inner world collapsing at that moment. A turtle was better than her—could she still lead a happy life?

Of course, after wallowing in her misery, Huo Sining couldn’t help but feel secretly thrilled. If she hadn’t seen these treasures, that would be one thing, but now that she had, how could she leave them in the paws of the Old Turtle to gather dust?

Without the slightest hesitation, she promptly gathered all the items from the chest into her storage ring.

And that wasn’t all. She then roamed around the entire riverbed’s shipwrecks, first using her Heavenly Eye Skill to peer into the perimeter of the shipwrecks. If she discovered valuable items inside worth her while, she immediately went into the wreck and scoured it clean.

After being busy with this for almost three hours, she finally stopped only after being certain that she had completely looted the shipwrecks in the area.

Once she finished with that, Huo Sining decided to leave. But before returning to the Seaweed Forest, she remembered that the Old Sea Turtle was still in her storage ring.

Hastily, she released the Old Sea Turtle from the Space. As the Old Sea Turtle suddenly found itself in the Seaweed Forest near the shipwrecks, it was thoroughly flabbergasted, looking around in confusion. It took a few seconds for it to come back to its senses.
