Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 769: Chapter 765 What a Coincidence?

Huo Sining had agreed to his request, so naturally, Zhong Zifan was beyond excited. Early in the morning, he was already on the phone with Huo Sining, calling non-stop along the way, constantly asking where Huo Sining was.

The bus ride from Mindong Bus Station to Fuzhou was only three hours. Huo Sining and Luo Jinzhi had gotten up early, around five in the morning, and took the early bus to Fuzhou. By the time they arrived at the bus station, it was just past nine.

Zhong Zifan had been waiting at the bus station for a while. Seeing Huo Sining and Luo Jinzhi exit the station, he excitedly came up to greet them from one side: ”Miss Huo!”

Huo Sining smiled and nodded her head, pointing to Luo Jinzhi beside her: ”This is my good sister, Jin Zhi. You met her back at Mindong Mei Garden.”

Luo Jinzhi had a high school reunion back then, and Zhong Zifan had been present, so he had some impression of Luo Jinzhi. Hearing Huo Sining’s introduction, Zhong Zifan smiled awkwardly and said to Luo Jinzhi:

”I remember, Miss Luo, right? I’m so sorry; because of me, your trip was delayed, and I made you go out of your way to come here.”

Luo Jinzhi rarely dealt with people older than her, especially businessmen like Zhong Zifan. Hearing his words, she immediately became somewhat tongue-tied, managing to say dryly, ”No problem.”

It was Huo Sining who responded with dissatisfaction: ”You know your matter has delayed our plans. Let me tell you, I even planned to take a trip to the Imperial Capital after going back, but it seems that won’t happen now. You eagerly called us over; you better not let us suffer any loss. Not to mention anything else, you’re treating us to good food and drinks, and all expenses are on you!”

Zhong Zifan immediately laughed: ”That goes without saying, entertainment and all is on me, and I’ll even cover the return flight tickets. I definitely won’t let you spend another cent!”

Huo Sining nodded, her eyes narrowed into a pleased smile: ”That’s more like it.”

Through their time together recently, Zhong Zifan had come to understand Huo Sining’s personality. Seeing that she didn’t stand on ceremony with him, far from being displeased, he was actually quite happy.

It proved that Huo Sining truly considered him a friend.

For Zhong Zifan, befriending a gamble expert like Huo Sining was obviously much better than merely being business partners.

Business partners were purely a relationship based on mutual interests; one could collaborate with him or with someone else, entirely dependent on profit. But friends were different; with the bond of friendship, cooperation had many more possibilities, more secure and reliable than ordinary business dealings based on profit.

So Zhong Zifan was only too happy for Huo Sining to be informal with him; her not being a stranger meant that she regarded him as a friend. Even if they weren’t sharing their deepest secrets, it was already very satisfying for Zhong Zifan.

”Where’s Liao Song?” Huo Sining certainly hadn’t forgotten that Liao Song, that fellow, was in partnership with Zhong Zifan to open a store. Now that the store was in a busy period, there was no way he could be away from Fuzhou.

”He’s watching the store. The business is pretty decent right now and needs him there, so I’m the only one here to pick you up.”

While speaking, Zhong Zifan stuffed the luggage of the two into the car and then drove out of the parking lot.

”Have you had breakfast? How about we find a restaurant to grab something quick?” Considering Huo Sining and her companion had left early in the morning, they might not have eaten, so Zhong Zifan suggested.

Huo Sining shook her head: ”No need, Jin Zhi’s elder sister made porridge and breakfast for us early in the morning. We’re well-fed.”

”Your sister really gets up early,” Zhong Zifan laughed as he replied.

Luo Jinzhi smiled shyly, ”They usually get up very early to go out to sea. Five in the morning is not considered early for people in a fishing village.”

Zhong Zifan chuckled upon hearing this: ”That makes sense. You can’t be late if you’re going out to catch the tide.”

Huo Sining gave Zhong Zifan a sidelong glance: ”Stop gabbing about all these irrelevant things, and let’s talk about that raw jade stone. We can’t afford to have any misunderstandings later and mess things up.”

At Huo Sining’s words, Zhong Zifan suddenly blinked: ”You mean to see it now?”

Huo Sining looked up at Zhong Zifan: ”Of course, now. Or were you planning to wait until the New Year? You were the one who liked that raw material, weren’t you? Otherwise, why do you think I came all this way so early? Alright, enough with the unnecessary talk, let’s just go straight to see the raw stone. We don’t want to invite trouble by waiting too long.”

Zhong Zifan had intended to first bring Huo Sining and Luo Jinzhi to the store to settle down, have lunch, rest a bit, and then go look at the raw material in the afternoon. Seeing how Huo Sining was even more eager than he was, he couldn’t help but touch his nose, feeling awkward as he glanced at Huo Sining.

Turning the car towards the destination, Zhong Zifan also explained the details about the raw material and the situation with his friend’s relatives’ household. After listening, Huo Sining had no objections. Before seeing the raw material, everything was mere speculation, and she wouldn’t make any premature judgments.

They drove all the way to an old residential area. After getting out of the car, Zhong Zifan led Huo Sining and Luo Jinzhi to the front of an apartment building.

Zhong Zifan didn’t rush to go upstairs but instead made a call on his mobile phone: ”Boss Wang, are you at home? Yes, we initially agreed on the afternoon, but I had some time this morning and thought I’d take another look. You’re at home? Great, we’ll come up then. Yes, I’m just downstairs at your building. Alright.”

After hanging up, Zhong Zifan led Huo Sining and Luo Jinzhi upstairs.

The owner of the raw material lived on the fourth floor. Just as Zhong Zifan was about to ring the doorbell on reaching the top, he noticed the security door wasn’t shut but left ajar.

Zhong Zifan found it strange but didn’t overthink it. He pushed the door open and went in, about to speak, but he stopped short when he saw the people standing in the living room. His expression immediately turned stern.

”Xiao Zhong, you’ve arrived, come in,” greeted the person in the house, upon seeing Zhong Zifan enter.

The man in the living room, who had been standing with his back to the door, lifted his head and turned around upon hearing the voice.

”Yo, my dear nephew, you’re here too?” The man who turned around was thin and had sparse hair. Seeing Zhong Zifan come in, he sneered sarcastically, the unmistakable look of triumph and scorn in his eyes.

That single word ”too” in his sentence clearly conveyed that he was also there to see the raw material, and he seemed to have his eye on it as well. With everyone present, whoever snatched up the good stuff owned it!

This man was none other than Zhong Zifan’s arch-enemy, his uncle Zhong Yuejin.

Upon entering the house and seeing Zhong Yuejin, Zhong Zifan’s expression had worsened, and now faced with Zhong Yuejin’s demeanor of schadenfreude, it turned utterly dark.
